< Psalmorum 130 >
1 Canticum graduum. De profundis clamavi ad te Domine:
[A Song of Ascents.] Out of the depths I have cried to you, YHWH.
2 Domine exaudi vocem meam: Fiant aures tuae intendentes, in vocem deprecationis meae.
YHWH, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions.
3 Si iniquitates observaveris Domine: Domine quis sustinebit?
If you, JAH, kept a record of sins, YHWH, who could stand?
4 Quia apud te propitiatio est: et propter legem tuam sustinui te Domine. Sustinuit anima mea in verbo eius:
But there is forgiveness with you, so that you may be revered.
5 speravit anima mea in Domino.
I wait for YHWH. My soul waits. I hope in his word.
6 A custodia matutina usque ad noctem: speret Israel in Domino.
My soul longs for YHWH more than watchmen long for the morning; more than watchmen for the morning.
7 Quia apud Dominum misericordia: et copiosa apud eum redemptio.
Israel, hope in YHWH, for with YHWH there is loving kindness. With him is abundant redemption.
8 Et ipse redimet Israel, ex omnibus iniquitatibus eius.
He will redeem Israel from all their sins.
