< Psalmorum 120 >
1 Canticum graduum. Ad Dominum cum tribularer clamavi: et exaudivit me.
A Song of Degrees. In mine affliction I cried to the Lord, and he listened to me.
2 Domine libera animam meam a labiis iniquis, et a lingua dolosa.
Deliver my soul, O Lord, from unjust lips, and from a deceitful tongue.
3 Quid detur tibi, aut quid apponatur tibi ad linguam dolosam?
What should be given to you, and what should be added to you, for [your] crafty tongue?
4 Sagittae potentis acutae, cum carbonibus desolatoriis.
Sharpened weapons of the mighty, with coals of the desert.
5 Heu mihi, quia incolatus meus prolongatus est: habitavi cum habitantibus Cedar:
Woe is me, that my sojourning is prolonged; I have tabernacled among the tents of Kedar.
6 multum incola fuit anima mea.
My soul has long been a sojourner;
7 Cum his, qui oderunt pacem, eram pacificus: cum loquebar illis, impugnabant me gratis.
I was peaceful among them that hated peace; when I spoke to them, they warred against me without a cause.
