Respondit ei turba: Nos audivimus ex lege, quia Christus manet in aeternum: et quomodo tu dicis, Oportet exaltari Filium hominis? Et quis est iste Filius hominis? (aiōn )
The multitude answered him: We have heard out of the law, that the Christ remains forever: and how say you that the Son of man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of man?
And I know that his commandment is life eternal. What things I speak therefore, as the Father has said to me, so I speak. (aiōnios )
Dicit ei Petrus: Non lavabis mihi pedes in aeternum. Respondit ei Iesus: Si non lavero te, non habebis partem mecum. (aiōn )
Peter said to him: Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him: Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.
and I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Paraclete, that he may dwell with you forever; (aiōn )
Sicut dedisti ei potestatem omnis carnis, ut omne, quod dedisti ei, det eis vitam aeternam. (aiōnios )
as thou hast given him authority over all flesh, that he may give eternal life to all that thou hast given him.
And this is life eternal, to know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou has sent.
because thou wilt not leave my soul in hades, nor suffer thy Holy One to see corruption.
foreseeing this, he spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that his soul was not left in hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. (Hadēs )
quem oportet quidem caelum suscipere usque in tempora restitutionis omnium, quae locutus est Deus per os sanctorum suorum a saeculo Prophetarum. (aiōn )
whom heaven must retain, till the time for restoring all things that God has spoken by the mouth of his holy prophets of ancient times.
But Paul and Barnabas, speaking boldly, said: It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first: but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, lo! we turn to tho Gentiles.
When the Gentiles heard this they rejoiced, and glorified the word of the Lord; and as many as were determined to obtain eternal life, believed. (aiōnios )
Notum a saeculo est Domino opus suum. (aiōn )
Known to God from eternity are all bis works.
(for, since the creation of the world, his attributes, which are invisible, are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, both his eternal power and divinity, ) that they may be without excuse; (aïdios )
Amen. (aiōn )
who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
to those who, by patient continuance in good works, seek for glory and honor and incorruptibility, eternal life: (aiōnios )
that as sin has reigned, ending in death, so might grace reign by justification, ending in life eternal, through Jesus Christ our Lord. (aiōnios )
Nunc vero liberati a peccato, servi autem facti Deo, habetis fructum vestrum in sanctificationem, finem vero vitam aeternam. (aiōnios )
But now, since you have been made free from sin, and have become servants to God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, eternal life. (aiōnios )
Stipendia enim peccati, mors. Gratia autem Dei, vita aeterna, in Christo Iesu Domino nostro. (aiōnios )
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen. (aiōn )
to whom belong the fathers, and of whom is the Christ, as it respects the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.
(Abyssos )
or, Who shall descend into the abyss? that is, to bring Christ again from the dead. (Abyssos )
For God has delivered them all over to unbelief, that he may have mercy on them all.
Amen. (aiōn )
For from him, and by him, and for him, are all things. To him be glory through the ages! Amen.
And be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may learn what the will of God is―the good, and the acceptable, and the perfect.
Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel, even the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which was concealed during the times of the ages, (aiōnios )
but is now made manifest, and through the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, made known among all nations for the obedience of faith, (aiōnios )
Amen. (aiōn )
to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be glory throughout the ages. Amen. (aiōn )
Ubi sapiens? ubi scriba? ubi conquisitor huius saeculi? Nonne stultam fecit Deus sapientiam huius mundi? (aiōn )
Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
Yet we speak wisdom among the perfect; but not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are brought to nought: (aiōn )
but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, even that which had been hidden, which God predestined before the ages, for our glory, (aiōn )
which none of the rulers of this age knew; for, had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory.
Let no one deceive himself: if any one among you is considered as wise in this age, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. (aiōn )
Quapropter si esca scandalizat fratrem meum: non manducabo carnem in aeternum, ne fratrem meum scandalizem. (aiōn )
For which reason, if meat cause my brother to fall, I will never eat meat, lest I cause my brother to fall.
Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they are written for the instruction of us, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. (aiōn )
Ubi est mors victoria tua? ubi est mors stimulus tuus? (Hadēs )
O Death, where is thy sting? O Hades, where is thy victory?
whose unbelieving minds the god of this age has darkened, so that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine to them.
For our present light affliction works out for us an eternal fullness of glory, excelling all excellence, (aiōnios )
while we look not at the things that are seen, but at the things that are not seen: for the things seen are temporal; but the things not seen are eternal.
For we know that if our earthly house, which is but a tent, should be destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
as it is written: He has scattered abroad; he has given to the poor; his righteousness remains forever.
The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed for ever, knows that I do not lie.
who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, (aiōn )
cui est gloria in saecula saeculorum: Amen. (aiōn )
to whom be glory from age to age. Amen.
For he that sows for his flesh shall from the flesh, reap corruption; but he that sows for his spirit shall from the Spirit reap life eternal.
high above every principality and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come; (aiōn )
in quibus aliquando ambulastis secundum saeculum mundi huius, secundum principem potestatis aeris huius, spiritus, qui nunc operatur in filios diffidentiae, (aiōn )
in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is actively at work in the sons of disobedience: (aiōn )
ut ostenderet in saeculis supervenientibus abundantes divitias gratiae suae in bonitate super nos in Christo Iesu. (aiōn )
that he might show, in the ages to come, the exceeding riches of his grace by his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
and enlighten all men with respect to the plan of the mystery, which was concealed from the ages in God, who created all things; (aiōn )
secundum praefinitionem saeculorum, quam fecit in Christo Iesu Domino nostro: (aiōn )
according to the arrangement of the ages, which he established by Christ Jesus our Lord, (aiōn )
Ipsi gloria in Ecclesia, et in Christo Iesu in omnes generationes saeculi saeculorum. Amen. (aiōn )
to him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus, throughout all the generations of the age of ages. Amen.
for our conflict is not with flesh and blood, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the rulers of the darkness of this world, with the wicked spirits in the heavenly regions.
Now to God, even our Father, be glory from age to age. Amen.
the mystery which was concealed from the ages and the generations, but is now made manifest to his saints, (aiōn )
qui poenas dabunt in interitu aeternas a facie Domini, et a gloria virtutis eius: (aiōnios )
these shall suffer punishment in that day, even eternal destruction, far from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power, (aiōnios )
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, who has loved us, and given us eternal consolation and good hope through grace, (aiōnios )
But for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all long-suffering, for an example to those who might afterward believe on him in order to life eternal.
Amen. (aiōn )
Now to the King of the ages, the incorruptible, invisible, only wise God, be honor and glory from age to age. Amen.) (aiōn )
Certa bonum certamen fidei, apprehende vitam aeternam, in qua vocatus es, et confessus bonam confessionem coram multis testibus. (aiōnios )
Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold on eternal life, to which you have been called, and for which you confessed the good confession before many witnesses.
who alone has immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable, whom no man has seen, nor can see, to whom be honor and power eternal. Amen.
Charge those who are rich in this age, that they be not proud, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us all things richly for our enjoyment, (aiōn )
who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the times of the ages, (aiōnios )
For this reason I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
for Demas has forsaken me, having loved the present age; and he has gone to Thessalonica, Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. (aiōn )
Liberavit me Dominus ab omni opere malo: et salvum faciet in regnum suum caeleste, cui gloria in saecula saeculorum. Amen. (aiōn )
And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and bring me safe to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory from age to age. Amen.
in hope of eternal life, which God, who can not lie, promised be fore the times of the ages, (aiōnios )
teaching us, that denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in the present age; (aiōn )
ut iustificati gratia ipsius, heredes simus secundum spem vitae aeternae. (aiōnios )
that, being justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Perhaps, indeed, lie departed for a short time for this reason, that you might receive him forever; (aiōnios )
whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom, also, he made the ages; (aiōn )
Ad filium autem: Thronus tuus Deus in saeculum saeculi: virga aequitatis, virga regni tui. (aiōn )
But to the Son: Thy throne, O God, is from age to age: a scepter of rectitude is the scepter of thy kingdom. (aiōn )
Quemadmodum et in alio loco dicit: Tu es sacerdos in aeternum, secundum ordinem Melchisedech. (aiōn )
as he says also in another place, Thou art a priest forever, after the order of Melchisedec.
and, having been made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation to all that obey him, (aiōnios )
of the teaching with respect to immersions, and of the laying on of hands, of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal condemnation. (aiōnios )
gustaverunt nihilominus bonum Dei verbum, virtutesque saeculi venturi, (aiōn )
and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the coming age, (aiōn )
ubi praecursor pro nobis introivit Iesus, secundum ordinem Melchisedech pontifex factus in aeternum. (aiōn )
whither a forerunner for us has gone, even Jesus, who is made a high priest forever after the order of Melchisedec. (aiōn )
Contestatur enim: Quoniam tu es sacerdos in aeternum, secundum ordinem Melchisedech. (aiōn )
Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.
(for those priests were made such without an oath, but this one with an oath, by him that said to him, The Lord swore, and will not repent, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec; ) (aiōn )
But this man, because he continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood.
For the law makes men high priests, who have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was after the law, makes the Son, who is perfected forever.
entered, not by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, once for all, into the most holy, having obtained eternal redemption.
how much more will the blood of the Christ, who, through the eternal Spirit, offered himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works, in order that you may serve the living God?
And for this reason, he is the mediator of the new covenant: that, since his death has taken place for the redemption of transgressions that were under the former covenant, those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
for then, he must have suffered often since the foundation of the world. But now once in the end of the ages, he has appeared in order to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
By faith we understand that the ages were set in order by the word of God, so that the things which are seen, have not come into being from things that appear. (aiōn )
Iesus Christus heri, et hodie: ipse et in saecula. (aiōn )
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and to-day, and forever.
Now may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ, the great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the eternal covenant, (aiōnios )
Amen. (aiōn )
perfect you in every good work, in order that you may do his will, working in you that which is acceptable in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory from age to age. Amen. (aiōn )
Et lingua ignis est, universitas iniquitatis. Lingua constituitur in membris nostris, quae maculat totum corpus, et inflammat rotam nativitatis nostrae inflammata a gehenna. (Geenna )
And the tongue is a fire, the world of iniquity. So is the tongue placed among our members, defiling the whole body, setting on fire the course of life, and being set on fire by hell. (Geenna )
having been begotten again, not with corruptible seed, but with incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever.
but the word of the Lord abides forever: and this is the word which has been preached as gospel to you.
If any man speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God: if any man acts as a deacon, let him do this as from the strength which God supplies; that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory and strength from age to age. Amen. (aiōn )
Deus autem omnis gratiae, qui vocavit nos in aeternam suam gloriam in Christo Iesu, modicum passos ipse perficiet, confirmabit, solidabitque. (aiōnios )
But may the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, confirm you. (aiōnios )
Ipsi gloria, et imperium in saecula saeculorum: Amen. (aiōn )
To him be glory and dominion from age to age. Amen. (aiōn )
Sic enim abundanter ministrabitur vobis introitus in aeternum regnum Domini nostri, et Salvatoris Iesu Christi. (aiōnios )
For thus will an entrance be given you abundantly into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to Tartarus, and delivered them over to chains of darkness, to be kept for judgment; (Tartaroō )
crescite vero in gratia, et in cognitione Domini nostri, et Salvatoris Iesu Christi. Ipsi gloria et nunc, et in diem aeternitatis. Amen. (aiōn )
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
(the life also was manifested, and we have seen, and do testify, and declare to you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested to us; ) (aiōnios )
And the world and its desire passes away: but he that does the will of God, abides forever.
And this is the promise which he has promised us, even eternal life.
Whoever hates his brother, is a murderer: and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
And this is the testimony, that God has given us eternal life: and this life is in his Son. (aiōnios )
Haec scribo vobis: ut sciatis quoniam vitam habetis aeternam, qui creditis in nomine Filii Dei. (aiōnios )
I have written these things to you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God.
And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding, that we may know him that is true: and we are in him that is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and life eternal.
we all love you, on account of the truth that dwells in us, and which will be with us forever: (aiōn )
The angels also that kept not their own dominion, but left their proper habitation, he has reserved, in eternal chains under darkness, to the judgment of the great day.
So Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities which were about them, in like manner giving themselves over to lewdness, and following after other flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire. (aiōnios )
fluctus feri maris, despumantes suas confusiones, sidera errantia: quibus procella tenebrarum servata est in aeternum. (aiōn )
raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame: wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness is reserved forever. (aiōn )
vosmetipsos in dilectione Dei servate, expectantes misericordiam Domini nostri Iesu Christi in vitam aeternam. (aiōnios )

The beast that you saw, was, and is not, and will come out of the abyss, and go to perdition; and those who dwell on the earth, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will wonder, when they see the beast that was, and is not, though he is yet present.
And the beast was taken, and the false prophet that was with him, who did signs in his presence, with which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast, and those who worshiped his image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire, which burns with brimstone. (Limnē Pyr )

Nisi quia Dominus adiuvit me: paulominus habitasset in inferno anima mea. ()
quem Deus suscitavit, solutis doloribus inferni, iuxta quod impossibile erat teneri illum ab eo. ()
