Leviticus 20
1 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens:
And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
2 Haec loqueris filiis Israel: Homo de filiis Israel, et de advenis, qui habitant in Israel, si quis dederit de semine suo idolo Moloch, morte moriatur: populus terrae lapidabit eum.
Thou shalt say also to the children of Israel, Whosoeuer he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that dwell in Israel, that giueth his children vnto Molech, he shall die the death, ye people of ye land shall stone him to death.
3 Et ego ponam faciem meam contra illum: succidamque eum de medio populi sui, eo quod dederit de semine suo Moloch, et contaminaverit Sanctuarium meum, ac polluerit nomen sanctum meum.
And I will set my face against that man and cut him off from among his people, because he hath giuen his children vnto Molech, for to defile my Sanctuarie, and to pollute mine holy Name.
4 Quod si negligens populus terrae, et quasi parvipendens imperium meum, dimiserit hominem qui dedit de semine suo Moloch, nec voluerit eum occidere:
And if the people of the lande hide their eyes, and winke at that man when he giueth his children vnto Molech, and kill him not,
5 ponam faciem meam super hominem illum, et super cognationem eius, succidamque et ipsum, et omnes qui consenserunt ei ut fornicarentur cum Moloch, de medio populi sui.
Then will I set my face against that man, and against his familie, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him to comit whoredome with Molech, from among their people.
6 Anima, quae declinaverit ad magos et ariolos, et fornicata fuerit cum eis, ponam faciem meam contra eam, et interficiam illam de medio populi sui.
If any turne after such as worke with spirits, and after soothsayers, to go a whoring after them, then will I set my face against that person, and will cut him off from among his people.
7 Sanctificamini et estote sancti, quia ego sum Dominus Deus vester.
Sanctifie your selues therefore, and be holie, for I am the Lord your God.
8 Custodite praecepta mea, et facite ea: Ego Dominus qui sanctifico vos.
Keepe ye therefore mine ordinances, and doe them. I am the Lord which doeth sanctifie you.
9 Qui maledixerit patri suo, aut matri, morte moriatur: sanguis eius sit super eum.
If there be any that curseth his father or his mother, he shall die the death: seeing hee hath cursed his father and his mother, his blood shalbe vpon him.
10 Si moechatus quis fuerit cum uxore alterius, et adulterium perpetraverit cum coniuge proximi sui, morte moriantur et moechus et adultera.
And the man that committeth adulterie with another mans wife, because he hath comitted adulterie with his neighbours wife, the adulterer and the adulteresse shall die the death.
11 Qui dormierit cum noverca sua, et revelaverit ignominiam patris sui, morte moriantur ambo: sanguis eorum sit super eos.
And the man that lyeth with his fathers wife, because hee hath vncouered his fathers shame, they shall both dye: their blood shalbe vpon them.
12 Si quis dormierit cum nuru sua, uterque moriatur, quia scelus operati sunt: sanguis eorum sit super eos.
Also the man that lyeth with his daughter in lawe, they both shall dye the death, they haue wrought abomination, their blood shalbe vpon them.
13 Qui dormierit cum masculo coitu femineo, uterque operatus est nefas, morte moriantur: sit sanguis eorum super eos.
The man also that lyeth with the male, as one lyeth with a woman, they haue both committed abomination: they shall dye the death, their blood shalbe vpon them.
14 Qui supra uxorem filiam, duxerit matrem eius, scelus operatus est: vivus ardebit cum eis, nec permanebit tantum nefas in medio vestri.
Likewise he that taketh a wife and her mother, committeth wickednesse: they shall burne him and them with fire, that there be no wickednes among you.
15 Qui cum iumento et pecore coierit, morte moriatur: pecus quoque occidite.
Also the man that lyeth with a beast, shall dye the death, and ye shall slay the beast.
16 Mulier, quae succubuerit cuilibet iumento, simul interficietur cum eo: sanguis eorum sit super eos.
And if a woman come to any beast, and lye therewith, then thou shalt kill the woman and the beast: they shall die the death, their blood shalbe vpon them.
17 Qui acceperit sororem suam filiam patris sui, vel filiam matris suae, et viderit turpitudinem eius, illaque conspexerit fratris ignominiam: nefariam rem operati sunt: occidentur in conspectu populi sui, eo quod turpitudinem suam mutuo revelaverint, et portabunt iniquitatem suam.
Also the man that taketh his sister, his fathers daughter, or his mothers daughter, and seeth her shame and she seeth his shame, it is villenie: therefore they shall be cut off in the sight of their people, because he hath vncouered his sisters shame, he shall beare his iniquitie.
18 Qui coierit cum muliere in fluxu menstruo, et revelaverit turpitudinem eius, ipsaque aperuerit fontem sanguinis sui, interficientur ambo de medio populi sui.
The man also that lyeth with a woman hauing her disease, and vncouereth her shame, and openeth her fountaine, and she open the foutaine of her blood, they shall bee euen both cut off from among their people.
19 Turpitudinem materterae, et amitae tuae non discooperies: qui hoc fecerit, ignominiam carnis suae nudavit, portabunt ambo iniquitatem suam.
Moreouer thou shalt not vncouer the shame of thy mothers sister, nor of thy fathers sister: because he hath vncouered his kin, they shall beare their iniquitie.
20 Qui coierit cum uxore patrui, vel avunculi sui, et revelaverit ignominiam cognationis suae, portabunt ambo peccatum suum: absque liberis morientur.
Likewise the man that lyeth with his fathers brothers wife, and vncouereth his vncles shame: they shall beare their iniquitie, and shall die childlesse.
21 Qui duxerit uxorem fratris sui, rem facit illicitam, turpitudinem fratris sui revelavit: absque liberis erunt.
So the man that taketh his brothers wife, committeth filthines, because he hath vncouered his brothers shame: they shalbe childles.
22 Custodite leges meas, atque iudicia, et facite ea: ne et vos evomat terra quam intraturi estis et habitaturi.
Ye shall keepe therefore all mine ordinances and all my iudgements, and doe them, that the land, whither I bring you to dwel therein, spue you not out.
23 Nolite ambulare in legitimis nationum, quas ego expulsurus sum ante vos. Omnia enim haec fecerunt, et abominatus sum eas.
Wherefore ye shall not walke in the maners of this nation which I cast out before you: for they haue committed all these things, therefore I abhorred them.
24 Vobis autem loquor: Possidete terram eorum, quam dabo vobis in hereditatem, terram fluentem lacte et melle. ego Dominus Deus vester, qui separavi vos a ceteris populis.
But I haue saide vnto you, ye shall inherite their land, and I will giue it vnto you to possesse it, euen a land that floweth with milke and honie: I am the Lord your God, which haue separated you from other people.
25 Separate ergo et vos iumentum mundum ab immundo, et avem mundam ab immunda: ne polluatis animas vestras in pecore, et avibus, et cunctis quae moventur in terra, et quae vobis ostendi esse polluta.
Therefore shall ye put difference betweene cleane beastes and vncleane, and betweene vncleane foules and cleane: neither shall ye defile your selues with beastes and foules, nor with any creeping thing, that ye ground bringeth forth, which I haue separated from you as vncleane.
26 Eritis mihi sancti, quia sanctus sum ego Dominus, et separavi vos a ceteris populis, ut essetis mei.
Therefore shall ye be holie vnto me: for I the Lord am holy, and I haue separated you from other people, that ye shoulde be mine.
27 Vir, sive mulier, in quibus pythonicus, vel divinationis fuerit spiritus, morte moriantur. lapidibus obruent eos: sanguis eorum sit super illos.
And if a man or woman haue a spirite of diuination, or soothsaying in them, they shall die the death: they shall stone them to death, their blood shalbe vpon them.
