1 Locutusque est David rex ad omnem ecclesiam: Salomonem filium meum unum elegit Deus, adhuc puerum et tenellum: opus namque grande est, neque enim homini praeparatur habitatio, sed Deo.
And he said David the king to all the assembly Solomon son my [whom] one he has chosen him God [is] a youth and weak and the work [is] great for not [is] for a human person the temple for for Yahweh God.
2 Ego autem totis viribus meis praeparavi impensas domus Dei mei. Aurum ad vasa aurea, et argentum in argentea, aes in aenea, ferrum in ferrea, ligna ad lignea: et lapides onychinos, et quasi stibinos, et diversorum colorum, omnemque pretiosum lapidem, et marmor Parium abundantissime:
And according to all power my I have prepared for [the] house of God my the gold - for the gold and the silver for the silver and the bronze for the bronze the iron for the iron and the wood for the wood stones of onyx and settings stones of antimony and variegated color and every stone precious and stones of alabaster to abundance.
3 et super haec, quae obtuli in domum Dei mei de peculio meo aurum et argentum, do in templum Dei mei, exceptis his, quae praeparavi in aedem sanctam.
And again because delight I in [the] house of God my there [belongs] to me treasure gold and silver I give for [the] house of God my upwards more than all [that] I have prepared for [the] house of the holiness.
4 Tria millia talenta auri de auro Ophir: et septem millia talentorum argenti probatissimi ad deaurandos parietes templi.
Three thousand talents of gold from [the] gold of Ophir and seven thousand talent[s] of silver purified to overlay [the] walls of the houses.
5 Et, ubicumque opus est aurum de auro, et ubicumque opus est argentum de argento, opera fiant per manus artificum: et si quis sponte offert, impleat manum suam hodie, et offerat quod voluerit Domino.
the Gold for the gold and the silver for the silver and for every work by [the] hand of craftsmen and who? [is] making a contribution to fill own hand his this day to Yahweh.
6 Polliciti sunt itaque principes familiarum, et proceres tribuum Israel, tribuni quoque, et centuriones, et principes possessionum regis.
And they made a contribution [the] leaders of the fathers and [the] leaders of - [the] tribes of Israel and [the] commanders of the thousands and the hundreds and [the] leaders of [the] work of the king.
7 Dederuntque in opera domus Dei auri talenta quinque millia, et solidos decem millia: argenti talenta decem millia, et aeris talenta decem et octo millia: ferri quoque centum millia talentorum.
And they gave for [the] service of [the] house of God gold talents five thousand and darics ten thousand and silver talents ten thousand and bronze ten thousand and eight thousand talents and iron one hundred thousand talents.
8 Et apud quemcumque inventi sunt lapides, dederunt in thesauros domus Domini, per manum Iahiel Gersonitis.
And the [one who] was found with him stones they gave [them] to [the] treasury of [the] house of Yahweh on [the] hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.
9 Laetatusque est populus, cum vota sponte promitterent: quia corde toto offerebant ea Domino: sed et David rex laetatus est gaudio magno.
And they rejoiced the people because had made a contribution they for with a heart complete they had made a contribution to Yahweh and also David the king he rejoiced joy great.
10 Et benedixit Domino coram universa multitudine, et ait: Benedictus es Domine Deus Israel patris nostri ab aeterno in aeternum.
And he blessed David Yahweh to [the] eyes of all the assembly and he said David [be] blessed you O Yahweh [the] God of Israel ancestor our from antiquity and until perpetuity.
11 Tua est Domine magnificentia, et potentia, et gloria, atque victoria: et tibi laus: cuncta enim quae in caelo sunt, et in terra, tua sunt: tuum Domine regnum, et tu es super omnes principes.
[belong] to You O Yahweh the greatness and the strength and the splendor and the eminence and the majesty for everything in the heavens and on the earth [belongs] to you O Yahweh the kingdom and the [one who] raises himself to all - to head.
12 Tuae divitiae, et tua est gloria: tu dominaris omnium, in manu tua virtus et potentia: in manu tua magnitudo, et imperium omnium.
And wealth and honor [are] from before you and you [are] ruling over everything and [are] in hand your power and strength and [are] in hand your to make great and to make strong everyone.
13 Nunc igitur Deus noster confitemur tibi, et laudamus nomen tuum inclytum.
And therefore O God our [are] giving thanks we to you and [are] praising [the] name of splendor your.
14 Quis ego, et quis populus meus, ut possimus haec tibi universa promittere? tua sunt omnia: et quae de manu tua accepimus dedimus tibi.
And that who? [am] I and who? [is] people my that we will retain strength to make a contribution like this for [is] from you everything and from hand your we have given to you.
15 Peregrini enim sumus coram te, et advenae, sicut omnes patres nostri. Dies nostri quasi umbra super terram, et nulla est mora.
For [are] sojourners we before you and resident aliens like all ancestors our [are] like shadow - days our on the earth and there not [is] hope.
16 Domine Deus noster, omnis haec copia, quam paravimus ut aedificaretur domus nomini sancto tuo, de manu tua est, et tua sunt omnia.
O Yahweh God our all the abundance this which we have prepared to build for you a house for [the] name of holiness your [is] from hand your (it *Q(K)*) and [belongs] to you everything.
17 Scio Deus meus quod probes corda, et simplicitatem diligas, unde et ego in simplicitate cordis mei laetus obtuli universa haec: et populum tuum, qui hic repertus est, vidi cum ingenti gaudio tibi offerre donaria.
And I know O God my that you [are] testing [the] heart and uprightness you are pleased with I in [the] uprightness of heart my I have made a contribution all these [things] and now people your who are found here I have seen with joy to make a contribution to you.
18 Domine Deus Abraham, et Isaac, et Israel patrum nostrorum, custodi in aeternum hanc voluntatem cordis eorum, et semper in venerationem tui mens ista permaneat.
O Yahweh [the] God of Abraham Isaac and Israel ancestors our keep! this for ever [the] inclination of [the] thoughts of [the] heart of people your and direct heart their to yourself.
19 Salomoni quoque filio meo da cor perfectum, ut custodiat mandata tua, testimonia tua, et ceremonias tuas, et faciat universa: et aedificet aedem, cuius impensas paravi.
And to Solomon son my give a heart complete to keep commandments your testimonies your and decrees your and to do everything and to build the temple which I have prepared.
20 Praecepit autem David universae ecclesiae: Benedicite Domino Deo nostro. Et benedixit omnis ecclesia Domino Deo patrum suorum: et inclinaverunt se, et adoraverunt Deum, et deinde regem.
And he said David to all the assembly bless please Yahweh God your and they blessed all the assembly Yahweh [the] God of ancestors their and they bowed low and they bowed down to Yahweh and to the king.
21 Immolaveruntque victimas Domino: et obtulerunt holocausta die sequenti, tauros mille, arietes mille, agnos mille cum libaminibus suis, et universo ritu abundantissime in omnem Israel.
And they sacrificed to Yahweh - sacrifices and they offered up burnt offerings to Yahweh to [the] next day of the day that young bulls one thousand rams one thousand lambs one thousand and drink offerings their and sacrifices to abundance for all Israel.
22 Et comederunt, et biberunt coram Domino in die illo cum grandi laetitia. Et unxerunt secundo Salomonem filium David. Unxerunt autem eum Domino in principem, et Sadoc in pontificem.
And they ate and they drank before Yahweh on the day that with joy great and they made king a second [time] Solomon [the] son of David and they anointed [him] to Yahweh to ruler and Zadok to priest.
23 Seditque Salomon super solium Domini in regem pro David patre suo, et cunctis placuit: et paruit illi omnis Israel.
And he sat Solomon on [the] throne of Yahweh - to king in place of David father his and he was successful and they listened to him all Israel.
24 Sed et universi principes, et potentes, et cuncti filii regis David dederunt manum, et subiecti fuerunt Salomoni regi.
And all the officials and the mighty [men] and also all [the] sons of the king David they gave a hand under Solomon the king.
25 Magnificavit ergo Dominus Salomonem super omnem Israel: et dedit illi gloriam regni, qualem nullus habuit ante eum rex Israel.
And he made great Yahweh Solomon upwards to [the] eyes of all Israel and he put on him majesty of royalty which not it had been on any king before him over Israel.
26 Igitur David filius Isai regnavit super universum Israel.
And David [the] son of Jesse he reigned over all Israel.
27 Et dies, quibus regnavit super Israel, fuerunt quadraginta anni: in Hebron regnavit septem annis, et in Ierusalem annis trigintatribus.
And the days which he reigned over Israel [were] forty year[s] in Hebron he reigned seven years and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three [years].
28 Et mortuus est in senectute bona, plenus dierum, et divitiis, et gloria. et regnavit Salomon filius eius pro eo.
And he died in old age good satisfied of days wealth and honor and he reigned Solomon son his (in place of him. *LA(bh)*)
29 Gesta autem David regis priora, et novissima scripta sunt in Libro Samuelis Videntis, et in Libro Nathan prophetae, atque in volumine Gad Videntis:
And [the] matters of David the king former and latter there they [are] written on [the] words of Samuel the seer and on [the] words of Nathan the prophet and on [the] words of Gad the seer.
30 Universique regni eius, et fortitudinis, et temporum, quae transierunt sub eo, sive in Israel, sive in cunctis regnis terrarum.
With all kingdom his and might his and the times which they passed over him and over Israel and over all [the] kingdoms of the lands.
