< Psalmorum 61 >
1 In finem. In hymnis David. Exaudi, Deus, deprecationem meam; intende orationi meæ.
To the Chief Musician. Upon a Stringed Instrument. David’s. Hear, O God, my loud cry, Attend unto my prayer:
2 A finibus terræ ad te clamavi, dum anxiaretur cor meum; in petra exaltasti me. Deduxisti me,
From the end of the earth, unto thee do I cry, When my heart fainteth away, Unto a rock that is higher than I, wilt thou lead me.
3 quia factus es spes mea: turris fortitudinis a facie inimici.
For thou hast been, A Refuge to me, A Tower of Strength, from the face of the foe.
4 Inhabitabo in tabernaculo tuo in sæcula; protegar in velamento alarum tuarum.
I would be a guest in thy tent to the ages, I would seek refuge in the concealment of thy wings. (Selah)
5 Quoniam tu, Deus meus, exaudisti orationem meam; dedisti hæreditatem timentibus nomen tuum.
For, thou, O God, hast hearkened to my vows, Thou hast granted a possession, unto them who revere thy Name.
6 Dies super dies regis adjicies; annos ejus usque in diem generationis et generationis.
Days—unto the days of the king, wilt thou add. His years, as of generation after generation:
7 Permanet in æternum in conspectu Dei: misericordiam et veritatem ejus quis requiret?
Let him retain his seat age-abidingly before God, Appoint that, lovingkindness and faithfulness, my watch over him!
8 Sic psalmum dicam nomini tuo in sæculum sæculi, ut reddam vota mea de die in diem.
So, will I sing thy Name unto futurity, Paying my vows, day by day.
