< Psalmorum 30 >
1 Psalmus cantici, in dedicatione domus David. Exaltabo te, Domine, quoniam suscepisti me, nec delectasti inimicos meos super me.
A Psalm [and] Song, [at] the dedication of the house of David. I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.
2 Domine Deus meus, clamavi ad te, et sanasti me.
O LORD my God, I cried to thee, and thou hast healed me.
3 Domine, eduxisti ab inferno animam meam; salvasti me a descendentibus in lacum. (Sheol )
O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. (Sheol )
4 Psallite Domino, sancti ejus; et confitemini memoriæ sanctitatis ejus.
Sing to the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
5 Quoniam ira in indignatione ejus, et vita in voluntate ejus: ad vesperum demorabitur fletus, et ad matutinum lætitia.
For his anger [endureth but] a moment; in his favor [is] life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy [cometh] in the morning.
6 Ego autem dixi in abundantia mea: Non movebor in æternum.
And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.
7 Domine, in voluntate tua præstitisti decori meo virtutem; avertisti faciem tuam a me, et factus sum conturbatus.
LORD, by thy favor thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, [and] I was troubled.
8 Ad te, Domine, clamabo, et ad Deum meum deprecabor.
I cried to thee, O LORD; and to the LORD I made supplication.
9 Quæ utilitas in sanguine meo, dum descendo in corruptionem? numquid confitebitur tibi pulvis, aut annuntiabit veritatem tuam?
What profit [is there] in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?
10 Audivit Dominus, et misertus est mei; Dominus factus est adjutor meus.
Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.
11 Convertisti planctum meum in gaudium mihi; conscidisti saccum meum, et circumdedisti me lætitia:
Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
12 ut cantet tibi gloria mea, et non compungar. Domine Deus meus, in æternum confitebor tibi.
To the end that [my] glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to thee for ever.
