< Psalmorum 126 >
1 Canticum graduum. In convertendo Dominus captivitatem Sion, facti sumus sicut consolati.
A Canticle in steps. When the Lord turned back the captivity of Zion, we became like those who are consoled.
2 Tunc repletum est gaudio os nostrum, et lingua nostra exsultatione. Tunc dicent inter gentes: Magnificavit Dominus facere cum eis.
Then our mouth was filled with gladness and our tongue with exultation. Then they will say among the nations: “The Lord has done great things for them.”
3 Magnificavit Dominus facere nobiscum; facti sumus lætantes.
The Lord has done great things for us. We have become joyful.
4 Converte, Domine, captivitatem nostram, sicut torrens in austro.
Convert our captivity, O Lord, like a torrent in the south.
5 Qui seminant in lacrimis, in exsultatione metent.
Those who sow in tears shall reap in exultation.
6 Euntes ibant et flebant, mittentes semina sua. Venientes autem venient cum exsultatione, portantes manipulos suos.
When departing, they went forth and wept, sowing their seeds. But when returning, they will arrive with exultation, carrying their sheaves.
