Psalmorum 118
1 Alleluja. Confitemini Domino, quoniam bonus, quoniam in sæculum misericordia ejus.
O give thanks to Jehovah, for he is good, for his loving kindness is forever.
2 Dicat nunc Israël: Quoniam bonus, quoniam in sæculum misericordia ejus.
Let Israel now say that his loving kindness is forever.
3 Dicat nunc domus Aaron: Quoniam in sæculum misericordia ejus.
Let the house of Aaron now say that his loving kindness is forever.
4 Dicant nunc qui timent Dominum: Quoniam in sæculum misericordia ejus.
Let those now who fear Jehovah say that his loving kindness is forever.
5 De tribulatione invocavi Dominum, et exaudivit me in latitudine Dominus.
Out of my distress I called upon Jehovah. Jehovah answered me upon a large place.
6 Dominus mihi adjutor; non timebo quid faciat mihi homo.
Jehovah is on my side, I will not fear. What can man do to me?
7 Dominus mihi adjutor, et ego despiciam inimicos meos.
Jehovah is on my side among those who help me. Therefore I shall look upon those who hate me.
8 Bonum est confidere in Domino, quam confidere in homine.
It is better to take refuge in Jehovah than to put confidence in man.
9 Bonum est sperare in Domino, quam sperare in principibus.
It is better to take refuge in Jehovah than to put confidence in rulers.
10 Omnes gentes circuierunt me, et in nomine Domini, quia ultus sum in eos.
All nations encompassed me around. In the name of Jehovah I will cut them off.
11 Circumdantes circumdederunt me, et in nomine Domini, quia ultus sum in eos.
They encompassed me around, yea, they encompassed me around. In the name of Jehovah I will cut them off.
12 Circumdederunt me sicut apes, et exarserunt sicut ignis in spinis: et in nomine Domini, quia ultus sum in eos.
They encompassed me around like bees. They are quenched as the fire of thorns. In the name of Jehovah I will cut them off.
13 Impulsus eversus sum, ut caderem, et Dominus suscepit me.
Thou thrusted greatly at me that I might fall, but Jehovah helped me.
14 Fortitudo mea et laus mea Dominus, et factus est mihi in salutem.
Jehovah is my strength and song, and he has become my salvation.
15 Vox exsultationis et salutis in tabernaculis justorum.
The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous. The right hand of Jehovah does valiantly.
16 Dextera Domini fecit virtutem; dextera Domini exaltavit me: dextera Domini fecit virtutem.
The right hand of Jehovah is exalted. The right hand of Jehovah does valiantly.
17 Non moriar, sed vivam, et narrabo opera Domini.
I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of Jehovah.
18 Castigans castigavit me Dominus, et morti non tradidit me.
Jehovah has chastened me greatly, but he has not given me over to death.
19 Aperite mihi portas justitiæ: ingressus in eas confitebor Domino.
Open to me the gates of righteousness. I will enter into them. I will give thanks to Jehovah.
20 Hæc porta Domini: justi intrabunt in eam.
This is the gate of Jehovah. The righteous shall enter into it.
21 Confitebor tibi quoniam exaudisti me, et factus es mihi in salutem.
I will give thanks to thee, for thou have answered me, and have become my salvation.
22 Lapidem quem reprobaverunt ædificantes, hic factus est in caput anguli.
The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner.
23 A Domino factum est istud, et est mirabile in oculis nostris.
This is Jehovah's doing. It is marvelous in our eyes.
24 Hæc est dies quam fecit Dominus; exsultemus, et lætemur in ea.
This is the day which Jehovah has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.
25 O Domine, salvum me fac; o Domine, bene prosperare.
Save now, we beseech thee, O Jehovah. O Jehovah, we beseech thee, send now prosperity.
26 Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini: benediximus vobis de domo Domini.
Blessed be he who comes in the name of Jehovah. We have blessed you out of the house of Jehovah.
27 Deus Dominus, et illuxit nobis. Constituite diem solemnem in condensis, usque ad cornu altaris.
Jehovah is God, and he has given us light. Bind the sacrifice with cords, even to the horns of the altar.
28 Deus meus es tu, et confitebor tibi; Deus meus es tu, et exaltabo te. Confitebor tibi quoniam exaudisti me, et factus es mihi in salutem.
Thou are my God, and I will give thanks to thee. Thou are my God, I will exalt thee.
29 Confitemini Domino, quoniam bonus, quoniam in sæculum misericordia ejus.
