1 David vero hos habuit filios, qui ei nati sunt in Hebron: primogenitum Amnon ex Achinoam Jezrahelitide, secundum Daniel de Abigail Carmelitide,
Six sons of [King] David were born in Hebron [city]. His oldest son was Amnon, whose mother Ahinoam was from Jezreel [city]. His next son was Daniel, whose mother was Abigail from Carmel [city].
2 tertium Absalom filium Maacha filiæ Tholmai regis Gessur, quartum Adoniam filium Aggith,
His next son was Absalom, whose mother was Maacah, the daughter of Talmai, the king [who ruled] in Geshur [town]. His next son was Adonijah, whose mother was Haggith.
3 quintum Saphathiam ex Abital, sextum Jethraham de Egla uxore sua.
The next son was Shephatiah, whose mother was Abital. His youngest son was Ithream, whose mother was Eglah.
4 Sex ergo nati sunt ei in Hebron, ubi regnavit septem annis et sex mensibus. Triginta autem et tribus annis regnavit in Jerusalem.
They were all born in Hebron, where David ruled for 7-1/2 years. After that, David ruled in Jerusalem for 33 years.
5 Porro in Jerusalem nati sunt ei filii, Simmaa, et Sobab, et Nathan, et Salomon, quatuor de Bethsabee filia Ammiel:
Many of David’s children were born in Jerusalem. Bathsheba, the daughter of Ammiel, gave birth to four of his sons: Shammua (OR, Shimea), Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon.
6 Jebaar quoque et Elisama,
Nine [other sons of David were also born there. They were] Ibhar, Elishua (OR, Elishama), Eliphelet,
7 et Eliphaleth, et Noge, et Nepheg, et Japhia,
Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,
8 necnon Elisama, et Eliada, et Elipheleth, novem:
Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphelet.
9 omnes hi, filii David absque filiis concubinarum: habueruntque sororem Thamar.
In addition to all those sons, David’s slave wives also gave birth to sons. David also had one daughter whose name was Tamar.
10 Filius autem Salomonis, Roboam: cujus Abia filius genuit Asa. De hoc quoque natus est Josaphat,
Solomon’s son was [King] Rehoboam. Rehoboam’s son was [King] Abijah. Abijah’s son was [King] Asa. Asa’s son was [King] Jehoshaphat.
11 pater Joram: qui Joram genuit Ochoziam, ex quo ortus est Joas:
Jehoshaphat’s son was [King] Jehoram (OR, Joram). Jehoram’s son was [King] Ahaziah. Ahaziah’s son was [King] Joash.
12 et hujus Amasias filius genuit Azariam. Porro Azariæ filius Joatham
Joash’s son was [King] Amaziah. Amaziah’s son was [King] Azariah. Azariah’s son was [King] Jotham.
13 procreavit Achaz patrem Ezechiæ, de quo natus est Manasses.
Jotham’s son was [King] Ahaz. Ahaz’s son was [King] Hezekiah. Hezekiah’s son was [King] Manasseh.
14 Sed et Manasses genuit Amon patrem Josiæ.
Manasseh’s son was [King] Amon. Amon’s son was [King] Josiah.
15 Filii autem Josiæ fuerunt: primogenitus Johanan, secundus Joakim, tertius Sedecias, quartus Sellum.
Josiah’s oldest son was Johanan. His other sons were Jehoiakim, Zedekiah, and Shallum.
16 De Joakim natus est Jechonias, et Sedecias.
Jehoiakim’s sons were Jehoiachin (OR, Jeconiah) and Zedekiah.
17 Filii Jechoniæ fuerunt: Asir, Salathiel,
[King] Jehoiachin was captured [and taken to Babylon]. His sons were Shealtiel,
18 Melchiram, Phadaia, Senneser, et Jecemia, Sama, et Nadabia.
Malkiram, Pedaiah, Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah.
19 De Phadaia orti sunt Zorobabel et Semei. Zorobabel genuit Mosollam, Hananiam, et Salomith sororem eorum:
Pedaiah’s sons were Zerubbabel and Shimei. [Two of] Zerubbabel’s sons were Meshullam and Hananiah, and their sister was Shelomith.
20 Hasaban quoque, et Ohol, et Barachian, et Hasadian, Josabhesed, quinque.
[Zerubbabel’s] five [other sons were] Hashubah, Ohel, Berekiah, Hasadiah, and Jushab-Hesed.
21 Filius autem Hananiæ, Phaltias pater Jeseiæ, cujus filius Raphaia: hujus quoque filius, Arnan, de quo natus est Obdia, cujus filius fuit Sechenias.
The descendants of Hananiah were Pelatiah and Jeshaiah. Jeshaiah’s son was Rephaiah. Rephaiah’s son was Arnan. Arnan’s son was Obadiah. Obadiah’s son was Shecaniah.
22 Filius Secheniæ, Semeia: cujus filii Hattus, et Jegaal, et Baria, et Naaria, et Saphat, sex numero.
Shecaniah’s son was Shemaiah. Shemaiah’s five sons were Hattush, Igal, Bariah, Neariah, and Shaphat.
23 Filius Naariæ, Elioënai, et Ezechias, et Ezricam, tres.
Neariah’s three sons were Elioenai, Hizkiah, and Azrikam.
24 Filii Elioënai, Oduia, et Eliasub, et Pheleia, et Accub, et Johanan, et Dalaia, et Anani, septem.
Elioenai’s seven sons were Hodaviah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Delaiah, and Anani.
