I Paralipomenon 2

1 Filii autem Israël: Ruben, Simeon, Levi, Juda, Issachar, et Zabulon,

These, are the sons of Israel, —Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun;

2 Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Nephthali, Gad, et Aser.

Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher,

3 Filii Juda: Her, Onan, et Sela: hi tres nati sunt ei de filia Sue Chananitide. Fuit autem Her primogenitus Juda malus coram Domino, et occidit eum.

the sons of Judah, Er, and Onan, and Shelah, the three born to him of the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess, —but Er the firstborn of Judah became wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, and he slew him.

4 Thamar autem nurus ejus peperit ei Phares et Zara: omnes ergo filii Juda, quinque.

And, Tamar his daughter-in-law, bare him, Perez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah, were five.

5 Filii autem Phares: Hesron et Hamul.

The sons of Perez, Hezron and Hamul.

6 Filii quoque Zaræ: Zamri, et Ethan, et Eman, Chalchal quoque, et Dara, simul quinque.

And, the sons of Zerah, Zimri and Ethan, and Heman and Calcol and Dara, all of them, five.

7 Filii Charmi: Achar, qui turbavit Israël, et peccavit in furto anathematis.

And, the sons of Carmi, Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in a thing devoted.

8 Filii Ethan: Azarias.

And, the sons of Ethan, Azariah.

9 Filii autem Hesron qui nati sunt ei: Jerameel, et Ram, et Calubi.

And, the sons of Hezron, who were born to him, Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Calubai.

10 Porro Ram genuit Aminadab. Aminadab autem genuit Nahasson, principem filiorum Juda.

And, Ram, begat Amminadab, —and, Amminadab, begat Nahshon, leader of the sons of Judah.

11 Nahasson quoque genuit Salma, de quo ortus est Booz.

And, Nahshon, begat Salma, and, Salma, begat Boaz;

12 Booz vero genuit Obed, qui et ipse genuit Isai.

and, Boaz, begat Obed, and, Obed, begat Jesse;

13 Isai autem genuit primogenitum Eliab, secundum Abinadab, tertium Simmaa,

and, Jesse, begat—his firstborn, Eliab, —and Abinadab, the second, and Shimea, the third;

14 quartum Nathanaël, quintum Raddai,

Nethanel, the fourth, Raddai, the fifth;

15 sextum Asom, septimum David.

Ozem, the sixth, David, the seventh.

16 Quorum sorores fuerunt Sarvia et Abigail. Filii Sarviæ: Abisai, Joab, et Asaël, tres.

And, their sisters, were Zeruiah and Abigail, —and, the sons of Zeruiah, Abishai and Joab and Asahel, three,

17 Abigail autem genuit Amasa, cujus pater fuit Jether Ismahelites.

And, Abigail, bare Amasa, —and, the father of Amasa, was Jether the Ishmaelite.

18 Caleb vero filius Hesron accepit uxorem nomine Azuba, de qua genuit Jerioth: fueruntque filii ejus Jaser, et Sobab, et Ardon.

And, Caleb son of Hezron, begat children of Azubah his wife, and of Jerioth, —and, these, were her sons, Jesher and Shobab and Ardon.

19 Cumque mortua fuisset Azuba, accepit uxorem Caleb Ephratha, quæ peperit ei Hur.

And Azubah died, —and Caleb took unto him Ephrath, and she bare to him Hur.

20 Porro Hur genuit Uri, et Uri genuit Bezeleel.

And, Hur, begat Uri, and, Uri, begat Bezalel.

21 Post hæc ingressus est Hesron ad filiam Machir patris Galaad, et accepit eam cum esset annorum sexaginta: quæ peperit ei Segub.

And, afterward, Hezron went in unto the daughter of Machir, father of Gilead, and he took her when he was sixty years old, —and she bare him Segub.

22 Sed et Segub genuit Jair, et possedit viginti tres civitates in terra Galaad.

And, Segub, begat Jair, —who came to have twenty-three cities, in the land of Gilead;

23 Cepitque Gessur et Aram oppida Jair, et Canath, et viculos ejus sexaginta civitatum: omnes isti filii Machir patris Galaad.

but Geshur and Aram took the towns of Jair from them, with Kenath and the villages thereof, sixty cities. All these, were the sons of Machir, father of Gilead.

24 Cum autem mortuus esset Hesron, ingressus est Caleb ad Ephratha. Habuit quoque Hesron uxorem Abia, quæ peperit ei Assur patrem Thecuæ.

And, after the death of Hezron, Caleb entered Ephrathah, —and, the wife of Hezron, was Abiah, who bare him Ashur, father of Tekoa.

25 Nati sunt autem filii Jerameel primogeniti Hesron, Ram primogenitus ejus, et Buna, et Aram, et Asom, et Achia.

And the sons of Jerahmeel firstborn of Hezron were, the firstborn, Ram, —and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem [of] Ahijah.

26 Duxit quoque uxorem alteram Jerameel, nomine Atara, quæ fuit mater Onam.

And Jerahmeel had another wife, whose name, was Atarah, —the same, was the mother of Onam.

27 Sed et filii Ram primogeniti Jerameel fuerunt Moos, Jamin, et Achar.

And the sons of Ram, the firstborn of Jerameel, were, —Maaz and Jamin, and Eker.

28 Onam autem habuit filios Semei et Jada. Filii autem Semei: Nadab et Abisur.

And the sons of Onam were, Shammai and Jada, —and, the sons of Shammai, Nadab and Abishur.

29 Nomen vero uxoris Abisur, Abihail, quæ peperit ei Ahobban et Molid.

And, the name of the wife of Abishur, was Abihail, —and she bare him Ahban, and Molid.

30 Filii autem Nadab fuerunt Saled et Apphaim. Mortuus est autem Saled absque liberis.

And, the sons of Nadab, Seled and Appaim, —but Seled died without sons.

31 Filius vero Apphaim, Jesi: qui Jesi genuit Sesan. Porro Sesan genuit Oholai.

And, the sons of Appaim, Ishi, and, the sons of Ishi, Sheshan, and, the sons of Sheshan, Ahlai.

32 Filii autem Jada fratris Semei: Jether, et Jonathan. Sed et Jether mortuus est absque liberis.

And, the sons of Jada, brother of Shammai, Jether, and Jonathan, —but Jether died without sons.

33 Porro Jonathan genuit Phaleth, et Ziza. Isti fuerunt filii Jerameel.

And the sons of Jonathan, Peleth and Zaza. These, were the sons of Jerahmeel.

34 Sesan autem non habuit filios, sed filias: et servum ægyptium nomine Jeraa.

Now Sheshan had, no sons, but, daughters, —and, Sheshan, had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha;

35 Deditque ei filiam suam uxorem: quæ peperit ei Ethei.

so Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant, to wife, —and she bare him Attai.

36 Ethei autem genuit Nathan, et Nathan genuit Zabad.

And, Attai, begat Nathan, and, Nathan, begat Zabad;

37 Zabad quoque genuit Ophlal, et Ophlal genuit Obed.

and, Zabad, begat Ephlal, and, Ephlal, begat Obed;

38 Obed genuit Jehu, Jehu genuit Azariam,

and, Obed, begat Jehu, and, Jehu, begat Azariah;

39 Azarias genuit Helles, et Helles genuit Elasa.

and, Azariah, begat Helez, and, Helez, begat Eleasah;

40 Elasa genuit Sisamoi, Sisamoi genuit Sellum,

and, Eleasah, begat Sismai, and, Sismai, begat Shallum;

41 Sellum genuit Icamiam, Icamia autem genuit Elisama.

and, Shallum, begat Jekamiah, and, Jekamiah, begat Elishama.

42 Filii autem Caleb fratris Jerameel: Mesa primogenitus ejus; ipse est pater Ziph: et filii Maresa patris Hebron.

Now, the sons of Caleb, brother of Jerahmeel, were, Mesha his firstborn, the same, was the father of Ziph, —and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.

43 Porro filii Hebron, Core, et Taphua, et Recem, et Samma.

And, the sons of Hebron, Korah and Tappuah, and Rekem and Shema.

44 Samma autem genuit Raham, patrem Jercaam, et Recem genuit Sammai.

And, Shema, begat Raham, the father of Jorkeam, —and, Rekem, begat Shammai.

45 Filius Sammai, Maon: et Maon pater Bethsur.

And, the son of Shammai, was Maon, —and, Maon, was the father of Beth-zur.

46 Epha autem concubina Caleb peperit Haran, et Mosa, et Gezez. Porro Haran genuit Gezez.

And, Ephah, the concubine of Caleb, bare Haran and Moza, and Gazez, —and, Haran, begat Gazez.

47 Filii autem Jahaddai, Regom, et Joathan, et Gesan, et Phalet, et Epha, et Saaph.

And, the sons of Jahdai, Regem and Jotham and Geshan and Pelet, and Ephah and Shaaph.

48 Concubina Caleb Maacha, peperit Saber, et Tharana.

A concubine of Caleb, Maacah, bare Sheber, and Tirhanah;

49 Genuit autem Saaph pater Madmena Sue, patrem Machbena et patrem Gabaa. Filia vero Caleb fuit Achsa.

she also bare Shaaph, father of Madmannah, Sheva, father of Machbena, and father of Gibea, —and, the daughter of Caleb, was Achsah.

50 Hi erant filii Caleb, filii Hur primogeniti Ephratha, Sobal pater Cariathiarim.

These, were the sons of Caleb, sons of Hur, firstborn of Ephrathah, —Shobal, the father of Kiriath-jearim;

51 Salma pater Bethlehem, Hariph pater Bethgader.

Salma, the father of Bethlehem, Hareph, the father of Beth-gader.

52 Fuerunt autem filii Sobal patris Cariathiarim, qui videbat dimidium requietionum.

And Shobal, the father of Kiriath-jearim had sons, —Haroeh, half of the Menuhoth.

53 Et de cognatione Cariathiarim, Jethrei, et Aphuthei, et Semathei, et Maserei. Ex his egressi sunt Saraitæ, et Esthaolitæ.

And, the families of Kiriath-jearim, were the Ithrites, and the Puthites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites, —from these, came the Zorathites, and the Eshtaolites.

54 Filii Salma, Bethlehem, et Netophathi, coronæ domus Joab, et dimidium requietionis Sarai:

The sons of Salma, were Bethlehem, and the Netophathites, Atrothbeth-joab, —and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites;

55 cognationes quoque scribarum habitantium in Jabes, canentes atque resonantes, et in tabernaculis commorantes. Hi sunt Cinæi, qui venerunt de Calore patris domus Rechab.

and the families of scribes who dwelt at Jabez, the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, the Sucathites. The same, are the Kenites who came in from Hammath, father of the house of Rechab.
