< Psalmorum 149 >
1 Alleluia. Cantate Domino canticum novum: laus eius in ecclesia sanctorum.
Hallelujah! Sing to the LORD a new song— His praise in the assembly of the godly.
2 Lætetur Israel in eo, qui fecit eum: et filii Sion exultent in rege suo.
Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King.
3 Laudent nomen eius in choro: in tympano, et psalterio psallant ei:
Let them praise His name with dancing, and make music to Him with tambourine and harp.
4 Quia beneplacitum est Domino in populo suo: et exaltabit mansuetos in salutem.
For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He adorns the afflicted with salvation.
5 Exultabunt sancti in gloria: lætabuntur in cubilibus suis.
Let the saints exult in glory; let them shout for joy upon their beds.
6 Exaltationes Dei in gutture eorum: et gladii ancipites in manibus eorum:
May the high praises of God be in their mouths, and a double-edged sword in their hands,
7 Ad faciendam vindictam in nationibus: increpationes in populis.
to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,
8 Ad alligandos reges eorum in compedibus: et nobiles eorum in manicis ferreis.
to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with shackles of iron,
9 Ut faciant in eis iudicium conscriptum: gloria hæc est omnibus sanctis eius. Alleluia.
to execute the judgment written against them. This honor is for all His saints. Hallelujah!
