< Psalmorum 130 >
1 Canticum graduum. De profundis clamavi ad te Domine:
“A song of the degrees.” Out of the depths have I called thee, O Lord.
2 Domine exaudi vocem meam: Fiant aures tuæ intendentes, in vocem deprecationis meæ.
Lord, listen to my voice: let thy ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
3 Si iniquitates observaveris Domine: Domine quis sustinebit?
If thou, Lord, shouldst treasure up iniquities, O Lord, who would be able to stand?
4 Quia apud te propitiatio est: et propter legem tuam sustinui te Domine. Sustinuit anima mea in verbo eius:
But with thee there is forgiveness, in order that thou mayest be feared.
5 speravit anima mea in Domino.
I hope for the Lord, my soul doth hope, and for his word do I wait.
6 A custodia matutina usque ad noctem: speret Israel in Domino.
My soul [waiteth] for the Lord, more than they that watch for the morning expect the morning.
7 Quia apud Dominum misericordia: et copiosa apud eum redemptio.
Let Israel wait for the Lord; for with the Lord there is kindness, and with him is redemption in abundance;
8 Et ipse redimet Israel, ex omnibus iniquitatibus eius.
And he wilt surely redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
