< Psalmorum 11 >

1 In finem, Psalmus David. In Domino confido: quomodo dicitis animæ meæ: Transmigra in montem sicut passer?
For the choirmaster. Of David. In the LORD I take refuge. How then can you say to me: “Flee like a bird to your mountain!
2 Quoniam ecce peccatores intenderunt arcum, paraverunt sagittas suas in pharetra, ut sagittent in obscuro rectos corde.
For behold, the wicked bend their bows. They set their arrow on the string to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart.
3 Quoniam quæ perfecisti, destruxerunt: iustus autem quid fecit?
If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
4 Dominus in templo sancto suo, Dominus in cælo sedes eius: Oculi eius in pauperem respiciunt: palpebræ eius interrogant filios hominum.
The LORD is in His holy temple; the LORD is on His heavenly throne. His eyes are watching closely; they examine the sons of men.
5 Dominus interrogat iustum et impium: qui autem diligit iniquitatem, odit animam suam.
The LORD tests the righteous and the wicked; His soul hates the lover of violence.
6 Pluet super peccatores laqueos: ignis, et sulphur, et spiritus procellarum pars calicis eorum.
On the wicked He will rain down fiery coals and sulfur; a scorching wind will be their portion.
7 Quoniam iustus Dominus et iustitias dilexit: æquitatem vidit vultus eius.
For the LORD is righteous; He loves justice. The upright will see His face.
