< Psalmorum 70 >
1 In finem, Psalmus David, In rememorationem, quod salvum fecerit eum Dominus. Deus in adiutorium meum intende: Domine ad adiuvandum me festina.
Hurry, God, to deliver me. Come quickly to help me, Adonai.
2 Confundantur, et revereantur, qui quærunt animam meam:
Let them be disappointed and confounded who seek my soul. Let those who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace.
3 Avertantur retrorsum, et erubescant, qui volunt mihi mala: Avertantur statim erubescentes, qui dicunt mihi: Euge, euge.
Let them be turned because of their shame Who say, “Aha! Aha!”
4 Exultent et lætentur in te omnes qui quærunt te, et dicant semper: Magnificetur Dominus: qui diligunt salutare tuum.
Let all those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. Let those who 'ahav ·affectionately love· your yishu'ah ·salvation· continually say, “Let God be exalted!”
5 Ego vero egenus, et pauper sum: Deus adiuva me. Adiutor meus, et liberator meus es tu: Domine ne moreris.
But I am poor and needy. Come to me quickly, God. You are my help and my deliverer. Adonai, don’t delay.
