< Psalmorum 68 >

1 In finem, Psalmus Cantici ipsi David.
Let Elohim arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.
2 Sicut deficit fumus, deficiant: sicut fluit cera a facie ignis, sic pereant peccatores a facie Dei.
As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of Elohim.
3 Et iusti epulentur, et exultent in conspectu Dei: et delectentur in lætitia.
But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before Elohim: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.
4 Cantate Deo, psalmum dicite nomini eius: iter facite ei, qui ascendit super occasum: Dominus nomen illi. Exultate in conspectu eius, turbabuntur a facie eius,
Sing unto Elohim, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name YAH, and rejoice before him.
5 patris orphanorum, et iudicis viduarum. Deus in loco sancto suo:
A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is Elohim in his holy habitation.
6 Deus qui inhabitare facit unius moris in domo: Qui educit vinctos in fortitudine, similiter eos, qui exasperant, qui habitant in sepulchris.
Elohim setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
7 Deus cum egredereris in conspectu populi tui, cum pertransires in deserto,
O Elohim, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; (Selah)
8 terra mota est, etenim cæli distillaverunt a facie Dei Sinai, a facie Dei Israel.
The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of Elohim: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of Elohim, the Elohim of Israel.
Thou, O Elohim, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.
10 Animalia tua habitabunt in ea: parasti in dulcedine tua pauperi, Deus.
Thy congregation hath dwelt therein: thou, O Elohim, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor.
11 Dominus dabit verbum evangelizantibus, virtute multa.
YHWH gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.
12 Rex virtutum dilecti dilecti: et speciei domus dividere spolia.
Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil.
Though ye have lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.
14 Dum discernit cælestis reges super eam, nive dealbabuntur in Selmon:
When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was white as snow in Salmon.
15 mons Dei, mons pinguis. Mons coagulatus, mons pinguis:
The hill of Elohim is as the hill of Bashan; an high hill as the hill of Bashan.
16 ut quid suspicamini montes coagulatos? Mons, in quo beneplacitum est Deo habitare in eo: etenim Dominus habitabit in finem.
Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which Elohim desireth to dwell in; yea, YHWH will dwell in it for ever.
17 Currus Dei decem millibus multiplex, millia lætantium: Dominus in eis in Sina in sancto.
The chariots of Elohim are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: YHWH is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.
18 Ascendisti in altum, cepisti captivitatem: accepisti dona in hominibus: Etenim non credentes, inhabitare Dominum Deum.
Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that YAH Elohim might dwell among them.
19 Benedictus Dominus die quotidie: prosperum iter faciet nobis Deus salutarium nostrorum.
Blessed be YHWH, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the El of our salvation. (Selah)
20 Deus noster, Deus salvos faciendi: et Domini, Domini exitus mortis.
He that is our El is the El of salvation; and unto YHWH, my master, belong the issues from death.
21 Verumtamen Deus confringet capita inimicorum suorum: verticem capilli perambulantium in delictis suis.
But Elohim shall wound the head of his enemies, and the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his trespasses.
22 Dixit Dominus: Ex Basan convertam, convertam in profundum maris:
YHWH said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea:
23 Ut intingatur pes tuus in sanguine: lingua canum tuorum ex inimicis, ab ipso.
That thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thine enemies, and the tongue of thy dogs in the same.
24 Viderunt ingressus tuos Deus, ingressus Dei mei: regis mei qui est in sancto.
They have seen thy goings, O Elohim; even the goings of my El, my King, in the sanctuary.
25 Prævenerunt principes coniuncti psallentibus, in medio iuvencularum tympanistriarum.
The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after; among them were the damsels playing with timbrels.
26 In ecclesiis, benedicite Deo Domino, de fontibus Israel.
Bless ye Elohim in the congregations, even YHWH, from the fountain of Israel.
27 Ibi Beniamin adolescentulus, in mentis excessu. Principes Iuda, duces eorum: principes Zabulon, principes Nephthali.
There is little Benjamin with their ruler, the princes of Judah and their council, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.
Thy Elohim hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O Elohim, that which thou hast wrought for us.
29 A templo tuo in Ierusalem, tibi offerent reges munera.
Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.
Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter thou the people that delight in war.
Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto Elohim.
32 Regna terræ, cantate Deo: psallite Domino: psallite Deo.
Sing unto Elohim, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the YHWH; (Selah)
33 qui ascendit super cælum cæli, ad Orientem. Ecce dabit voci suæ vocem virtutis,
To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old; lo, he doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice.
Ascribe ye strength unto Elohim: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the clouds.
35 Mirabilis Deus in sanctis suis, Deus Israel ipse dabit virtutem, et fortitudinem plebi suæ, benedictus Deus.
O Elohim, thou art terrible out of thy holy places: the El of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be Elohim.
