Psalmorum 61

1 In finem, In hymnis David. Exaudi Deus deprecationem meam: intende orationi meæ.

For the leader. On stringed instruments. Of David. Hear my cry, O God, be attentive to my prayer.

2 A finibus terræ ad te clamavi: dum anxiaretur cor meum, in petra exaltasti me. Deduxisti me,

From the ends of the earth I call unto you, when my heart is faint: lead me to the rock that is high above me.

3 quia factus es spes mea: turris fortitudinis a facie inimici.

For you are a refuge to me, a strong tower in face of the foe.

4 Inhabitabo in tabernaculo tuo in sæcula: protegar in velamento alarum tuarum.

O to be guest in your tent forever, hiding beneath your sheltering wings! (Selah)

5 Quoniam tu Deus meus exaudisti orationem meam: dedisti hereditatem timentibus nomen tuum.

For you, O God, do hear my vows, and grant the desires of those who fear you.

6 Dies super dies regis adiicies: annos eius usque in diem generationis et generationis.

Add many days to the life of the king; may his years endure throughout all generations.

7 Permanet in æternum in conspectu Dei: misericordiam et veritatem eius quis requiret?

In the presence of God be he throned forever; may kindness and faithfulness watch over him.

8 Sic psalmum dicam nomini tuo in sæculum sæculi: ut reddam vota mea de die in diem.

And I will sing praise to your name forever, paying my vows day after day.
