< Psalmorum 3 >
1 Psalmus David, Cum fugeret a facie Absalom filii sui. Domine quid multiplicati sunt qui tribulant me? multi insurgunt adversum me.
A Psalme of Dauid, when he fled from his sonne Absalom. Lord, howe are mine aduersaries increased? howe many rise against me?
2 Multi dicunt animæ meæ: Non est salus ipsi in Deo eius.
Many say to my soule, There is no helpe for him in God. (Selah)
3 Tu autem Domine susceptor meus es, gloria mea, et exaltans caput meum.
But thou Lord art a buckler for me: my glory, and the lifter vp of mine head.
4 Voce mea ad Dominum clamavi: et exaudivit me de monte sancto suo.
I did call vnto the Lord with my voyce, and he heard me out of his holy mountaine. (Selah)
5 Ego dormivi, et soporatus sum: et exurrexi, quia Dominus suscepit me.
I layed me downe and slept, and rose vp againe: for the Lord susteined me.
6 Non timebo millia populi circumdantis me: exurge Domine: salvum me fac Deus meus.
I will not be afrayde for ten thousand of the people, that should beset me round about.
7 Quoniam tu percussisti omnes adversantes mihi sine causa: dentes peccatorum contrivisti.
O Lord, arise: helpe me, my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies vpon the cheeke bone: thou hast broken the teeth of the wicked.
8 Domini est salus: et super populum tuum benedictio tua.
Saluation belongeth vnto the Lord, and thy blessing is vpon thy people. (Selah)
