Philippenses 4
1 Itaque fratres mei charissimi, et desideratissimi, gaudium meum, et corona mea: sic state in Domino, charissimi:
Therefore, my brethre, beloued and longed for, my ioy and my crowne, so continue in the Lord, yee beloued.
2 Evodiam rogo, et Syntychen deprecor idipsum sapere in Domino.
I pray Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of one accord in the Lord,
3 Etiam rogo et te germane compar, adiuva illas, quæ mecum laboraverunt in Evangelio cum Clemente, et ceteris adiutoribus meis, quorum nomina sunt in libro vitæ.
Yea, and I beseech thee, faithfull yokefellow, helpe those women, which laboured with me in the Gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowe labourers, whose names are in the booke of life.
4 Gaudete in Domino semper: iterum dico gaudete.
Reioyce in the Lord alway, againe I say, reioyce.
5 Modestia vestra nota sit omnibus hominibus: Dominus prope est.
Let your patient minde be knowen vnto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Nihil soliciti sitis: sed in omni oratione, et obsecratione, cum gratiarum actione petitiones vestræ innotescant apud Deum.
Be nothing carefull, but in all thinges let your requestes be shewed vnto God in praier, and supplication with giuing of thankes.
7 Et pax Dei, quæ exuperat omnem sensum, custodiat corda vestra, et intelligentias vestras in Christo Iesu.
And the peace of God which passeth all vnderstanding, shall preserue your heartes and mindes in Christ Iesus.
8 De cetero fratres, quæcumque sunt vera, quæcumque pudica, quæcumque iusta, quæcumque sancta, quæcumque amabilia, quæcumque bonæ famæ, siqua virtus, siqua laus disciplinæ, hæc cogitate.
Furthermore, brethre, whatsoeuer things are true, whatsoeuer things are honest, whatsoeuer thinges are iust, whatsoeuer thinges are pure, whatsoeuer thinges are worthie loue, whatsoeuer things are of good report, if there be any vertue, or if there be any praise, thinke on these things,
9 Quæ et didicistis, et accepistis, et audistis, et vidistis in me, hæc agite: et Deus pacis erit vobiscum.
Which yee haue both learned and receiued, and heard, and seene in mee: those things doe, and the God of peace shalbe with you.
10 Gavisus sum autem in Domino vehementer, quoniam tandem aliquando refloruistis pro me sentire, sicut et sentiebatis: occupati autem eratis.
Nowe I reioyce also in the Lord greatly, that nowe at the last your care for mee springeth afresh, wherein notwithstanding ye were careful, but yee lacked opportunitie.
11 Non quasi propter penuriam dico: ego enim didici, in quibus sum, sufficiens esse.
I speake not because of want: for I haue learned in whatsoeuer state I am, therewith to bee content.
12 Scio et humiliari, scio et abundare: (ubique et in omnibus institutus sum) et satiari, et esurire, et abundare, et penuriam pati.
And I can be abased, and I can abounde: euery where in all things I am instructed, both to be full, and to be hungrie, and to abounde, and to haue want.
13 Omnia possum in eo, qui me confortat.
I am able to do al things through the helpe of Christ, which strengtheneth me.
14 Verumtamen bene fecistis, communicantes tribulationi meæ.
Notwithstanding yee haue well done, that yee did communicate to mine affliction.
15 Scitis autem et vos Philippenses, quod in principio Evangelii, quando profectus sum a Macedonia, nulla mihi ecclesia communicavit in ratione dati et accepti, nisi vos soli:
And yee Philippians knowe also that in the beginning of the Gospell, when I departed from Macedonia, no Church communicated with me, concerning the matter of giuing and receiuing, but yee onely.
16 quia et Thessalonicam semel et bis in usum mihi misistis.
For euen when I was in Thessalonica, yee sent once, and afterward againe for my necessitie,
17 Non quia quæro datum, sed requiro fructum abundantem in ratione vestra.
Not that I desire a gift: but I desire the fruit which may further your reckoning.
18 Habeo autem omnia, et abundo: repletus sum, acceptis ab Epaphrodito quæ misistis odorem suavitatis, hostiam acceptam, placentem Deo.
Now I haue receiued all, and haue plentie: I was euen filled, after that I had receiued of Epaphroditus that which came from you, an odour that smellleth sweete, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasant to God.
19 Deus autem meus impleat omne desiderium vestrum secundum divitias suas in gloria in Christo Iesu.
And my God shall fulfill all your necessities through his riches with glorie in Iesus Christ.
Vnto God euen our Father be praise for euermore, Amen. (aiōn g165)
21 Salutate omnem sanctum in Christo Iesu.
Salute all the Saintes in Christ Iesus. The brethren, which are with me, greete you.
22 Salutant vos, qui mecum sunt, fratres. Salutant vos omnes sancti, maxime autem qui de Cæsaris domo sunt.
All the Saintes salute you, and most of all they which are of Cesars houshold.
23 Gratia Domini nostri Iesu Christi cum spiritu vestro. Amen.
