< Marcum 6 >
1 Et egressus inde, abiit in patriam suam: et sequebantur eum discipuli sui:
And He went out from there and (came *N(k)O*) into the hometown of Him, and follow Him the disciples of Him.
2 et facto Sabbato cœpit in synagoga docere: et multi audientes admirabantur in doctrina eius, dicentes: Unde huic hæc omnia? et quæ est sapientia, quæ data est illi? et virtutes tales, quæ per manus eius efficiuntur!
And when was becoming [the] Sabbath He began to teach in the synagogue; and (*o*) many hearing were astonished saying; From where to this [man] these things, and what [is] the wisdom which having been given (to Him *N(k)O*) (for *k*) even (the *no*) miracles such through the hands of Him (are done? *N(k)O*)
3 Nonne hic est faber, filius Mariæ, frater Iacobi, et Ioseph, et Iudæ, et Simonis? nonne et sorores eius hic nobiscum sunt? Et scandalizabantur in illo.
Surely this is the carpenter, the son (*no*) of Mary (and *no*) brother (now *k*) of James and of Joses and of Judas and of Simon? And surely are the sisters of Him here with us? And they were offended by Him.
4 Et dicebat illis Iesus: Quia non est propheta sine honore nisi in patria sua, et in domo sua, et in cognatione sua.
(And *no*) was saying (now *k*) to them Jesus that Not is a prophet without honor only except in the hometown of him and among the relatives of him and in the household of him.
5 Et non poterat ibi virtutem ullam facere, nisi paucos infirmos impositis manibus curavit:
And not He was able there to do not any work of power only except on a few sick having laid the hands He healed.
6 et mirabatur propter incredulitatem eorum, et circuibat castella in circuitu docens.
And (He was marveling *NK(o)*) because of the unbelief of them. And He was going the villages around teaching.
7 Et vocavit duodecim: et cœpit eos mittere binos, et dabat illis potestatem spirituum immundorum.
And He calls near the Twelve and He began them to send forth two [by] two and He was gaving to them authority over the spirits unclean
8 Et præcepit eis ne quid tollerent in via, nisi virgam tantum: non peram, non panem, neque in zona æs,
And He instructed to them that nothing they may take for [the] journey only except a staff alone, no bread nor bag nor in the belt money,
9 sed calceatos sandaliis, et ne induerentur duabus tunicis.
but having put on yourselves sandals, and not (may put on *NK(o)*) two tunics.
10 Et dicebat eis: Quocumque introieritis in domum: illic manete donec exeatis inde:
And He was saying to them; Wherever (maybe *NK(o)*) you shall enter into a house, there do remain until maybe you may go out from there.
11 et quicumque non receperint vos, nec audierint vos, exeuntes inde, excutite pulverem de pedibus vestris in testimonium illis.
And (whatever *N(k)O*) maybe (place *no*) not (he may receive *N(k)O*) you nor may hear you, departing from there do shake off the dust which [is] under the feet of you for a testimony against them. (Amen I say to you more tolerable will be for Sodom or for Gomorrah in day of judgment than for the for city that [one]. *K*)
12 Et exeuntes prædicabant ut pœnitentiam agerent:
And having gone out (they proclaimed *N(k)O*) that (they may repent, *N(k)O*)
13 et dæmonia multa eiiciebant, et ungebant oleo multos ægros, et sanabant.
And demons many they were casting out and were anointing with oil many sick and were healing [them].
14 Et audivit rex Herodes, (manifestum enim factum est nomen eius) et dicebat: Quia Ioannes Baptista resurrexit a mortuis: et propterea virtutes operantur in illo.
And heard King Herod; well known for became the name of Him. And (they were saying *N(k)O*) that John the [one] baptizing (he has been raised *N(k)O*) out from [the] dead and because of this operate the miraculous powers in him.
15 Alii autem dicebant: Quia Elias est. Alii vero dicebant: Quia propheta est, quasi unus ex prophetis.
Others (however *no*) were saying that Elijah He is; Others now were saying that A prophet (is or *K*) like one of the prophets.
16 Quo audito Herodes ait: Quem ego decollavi Ioannem, hic a mortuis resurrexit.
Having heard now Herod (was saying *N(k)O*) (that: *k*) Whom I myself beheaded John — he ([it] is he himself *k*) is risen (from *ko*) (dead. *KO*)
17 Ipse enim Herodes misit, ac tenuit Ioannem, et vinxit eum in carcere propter Herodiadem uxorem Philippi fratris sui, quia duxerat eam.
Himself for Herod having sent he seized John and bound him in (*k*) prison on account of Herodias the wife of Philip the brother of him because her he had married;
18 Dicebat enim Ioannes Herodi: Non licet tibi habere uxorem fratris tui.
Were saying for John to Herod that Not it is lawful for you to have the wife of the brother of you.
19 Herodias autem insidiabatur illi: et volebat occidere eum, nec poterat.
And Herodias was holding it against him and he was wishing him to kill and not he was able;
20 Herodes enim metuebat Ioannem, sciens eum virum iustum et sanctum, et custodiebat eum: et audito eo multa faciebat, et libenter eum audiebat.
for Herod was afraid of John knowing him [to be] a man righteous and holy and he was keeping safe him. And when having heard him much (he was perplexed *N(K)O*) and gladly him was hearing.
21 Et cum dies opportunus accidisset, Herodes natalis sui cœnam fecit principibus, et tribunis, et primis Galilææ.
And when was coming [a] day opportune when Herod on the birthday of him a banquet (made *N(k)O*) for the great men of him and for the chief captains and for the leading [men] of Galilee
22 Cumque introisset filia ipsius Herodiadis, et saltasset, et placuisset Herodi, simulque recumbentibus; rex ait puellæ: Pete a me quod vis, et dabo tibi:
and when was entering the daughter (of him *N(K)O*) (*ko*) Herodias and when having danced (and *ko*) (she pleased *N(k)O*) Herod and those reclining with [him] said (now *o*) the king to the girl; do ask me whatever if you shall wish, and I will give to you.
23 et iuravit illi: Quia quidquid petieris dabo tibi, licet dimidium regni mei.
And he swore to her (greatly *N*) whatever (thing *N(k)O*) if me you shall ask I will give you until half of the kingdom of mine.
24 Quæ cum exisset, dixit matri suæ: Quid petam? At illa dixit: Caput Ioannis Baptistæ.
(And *no*) (now *k*) having gone out she said to the mother of her; What (shall I ask for myself? *N(k)O*) And she said; The head of John the [one] (baptizing. *N(k)O*)
25 Cumque introisset statim cum festinatione ad regem, petivit dicens: Volo ut protinus des mihi in disco caput Ioannis Baptistæ.
And having entered immediately with haste to the king she asked saying; I desire that at once may you give to me on a platter the head of John the Baptist.
26 Et contristatus est rex: propter iusiurandum, et propter simul discumbentes noluit eam contristare:
And encompassingly sorrowful having been made the king on account of the oaths and those (reclining with [him] *N(K)O*) not was he willing to refuse her.
27 sed misso spiculatore præcepit afferri caput eius in disco.
And immediately having sent the king an executioner he commanded (to be brought *N(k)O*) the head of him. (*k*) (And *N(k)O*) having gone he beheaded him in the prison
28 Et decollavit eum in carcere, et attulit caput eius in disco: et dedit illud puellæ, et puella dedit matri suæ.
and brought the head of him on a platter and gave it to the girl, and the girl gave it to the mother of her.
29 Quo audito, discipuli eius venerunt, et tulerunt corpus eius: et posuerunt illud in monumento.
And having heard [it] the disciples of him came and they took up the body of him and laid it in (*k*) [a] tomb.
30 Et convenientes Apostoli ad Iesum, renunciaverunt ei omnia, quæ egerant, et docuerant.
And are gathered together the apostles to Jesus and they related to him all things (and *k*) how much they had done and how much they had taught.
31 Et ait illis: Venite seorsum in desertum locum, et requiescite pusillum. Erant enim qui veniebant et redibant multi: et nec spatium manducandi habebant.
And (He speaks *N(k)O*) to them; Come you yourselves yourselves apart [your] own to [a] solitary place and (do rest *N(k)O*) a little; Were for those coming and those going [are] many, and not even to eat were they able.
32 Et ascendentes in navim, abierunt in desertum locum seorsum.
And they went away (in *no*) the boat into [a] solitary place on [their] own.
33 Et viderunt eos abeuntes, et cognoverunt multi: et pedestres de omnibus civitatibus concurrerunt illuc, et prævenerunt eos.
And they saw them going (crowds *K*) and (recognized *NK(O)*) (him *k*) many and on foot from all the cities ran together there and went before them (and together went to him. *K*)
34 Et exiens vidit turbam multam Iesus: et misertus est super eos, quia erant sicut oves non habentes pastorem, et cœpit docere multa.
And having gone out He saw (Jesus *k*) a great crowd and was moved with compassion toward (them *N(k)O*) because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. And He began to teach them many things.
35 Et cum iam hora multa fieret, accesserunt discipuli eius, dicentes: Desertus est locus hic, et iam hora præteriit:
And already when the hour late being having come to Him the disciples of Him (were saying *N(k)O*) that Desolate is the place, and already [it is] an hour late;
36 dimitte illos, ut euntes in proximas villas, et vicos, emant sibi cibos, quos manducent:
do dismiss them that having gone to the surrounding region and villages they may buy for themselves something (loaves for *K*) may eat (not they have. *K*)
37 Et respondens ait illis: Date illis vos manducare. Et dixerunt ei: Euntes emamus ducentis denariis panes, et dabimus illis manducare.
But answering He said to them; do give to them you yourselves [something] to eat. And they say to Him; Having gone shall we buy denarii two hundred of bread and [then] (we will give *N(k)O*) them [it] to eat?
38 Et dicit eis: Quot panes habetis? Ite, et videte. Et cum cognovissent, dicunt: Quinque, et duos pisces.
And He says to them; How many loaves have you do go (and *k*) do see. And having known they say; Five and two fish.
39 Et præcepit illis ut accumbere facerent omnes secundum contubernia super viride fœnum.
And He commanded them (to recline *NK(o)*) all groups [by] groups on the green grass.
40 Et discubuerunt in partes per centenos, et quinquagenos.
And they sat down groups [by] groups (by *N(k)O*) hundreds and (by *N(k)O*) fifties.
41 Et acceptis quinque panibus et duobus pisces, intuens in cælum, benedixit, et fregit panes, et dedit discipulis suis, ut ponerent ante eos: et duos pisces divisit omnibus.
And having taken the five loaves and the two fish, having looked up to the heaven He blessed and He broke the loaves and He was giving [them] to the disciples of Him that (they may set before *N(k)O*) them, And the two fish He divided among all.
42 Et manducaverunt omnes, et saturati sunt.
And ate all and were satisfied,
43 Et sustulerunt reliquias, fragmentorum duodecim cophinos plenos, et de piscibus.
And they took up (of fragments *N(k)O*) twelve (hand-baskets fullness *N(k)O*) and of the fish.
44 Erant autem qui manducaverunt quinque millia virorum.
And were those having eaten of the loaves (about *K*) five thousand men.
45 Et statim coegit discipulos suos ascendere navim, ut præcederent eum trans fretum ad Bethsaidam, dum ipse dimitteret populum.
And immediately He compelled the disciples of Him to climb into the boat and to go before to the other side to Bethsaida until He himself (dismisses *N(k)O*) the crowd.
46 Et cum dimisisset eos, abiit in montem orare.
And having taken leave of them He departed into the mountain to pray.
47 Et cum sero esset, erat navis in medio mari, et ipse solus in terra.
And when evening having come was the boat in [the] midst of the sea, and He himself alone upon the land.
48 Et videns eos laborantes in remigando, (erat enim ventus contrarius eis) et circa quartam vigiliam noctis venit ad eos ambulans supra mare: et volebat præterire eos.
And (seeing *N(k)O*) them straining in the rowing, was for the wind contrary to them, (and *k*) About [the] fourth watch of the night He comes to them walking on the sea and He was wishing to pass by them.
49 At illi ut viderunt eum ambulantem supra mare, putaverunt phantasma esse, et exclamaverunt.
And having seen Him on the sea walking they thought (that *no*) a ghost ([it] is, *N(k)O*) and cried out;
50 Omnes enim viderunt eum, et conturbati sunt. Et statim locutus est cum eis, et dixit eis: Confidite, ego sum, nolite timere.
All for Him saw and were troubled. (*no*) (now *N(k)O*) immediately He spoke with them and says to them; Take courage! I myself am [He], not do fear.
51 Et ascendit ad illos in navim, et cessavit ventus. Et plus magis intra se stupebant:
And He went up to them into the boat, and ceased the wind. And exceedingly over excessive in themselves they were amazed (and were marveling; *K*)
52 non enim intellexerunt de panibus: erat enim cor eorum obcæcatum.
not for they understood by the loaves, (but *N(K)O*) were of them the heart hardened.
53 Et cum transfretassent, venerunt in terram Genesareth, et applicuerunt.
And having passed over to the land they came (to *no*) Gennesaret and drew to shore.
54 Cumque egressi essent de navi, continuo cognoverunt eum:
And when were exiting they out of the boat immediately having recognized Him
55 et percurrentes universam regionem illam, cœperunt in grabatis eos, qui se male habebant, circumferre, ubi audiebant eum esse.
(they ran around *N(k)O*) all the (region *N(k)O*) that (and *no*) they began on the mats those sick being to carry about to wherever they were hearing that (there *ko*) He is.
56 Et quocumque introibat, in vicos, vel in villas, aut civitates, in plateis ponebant infirmos, et deprecabantur eum, ut vel fimbriam vestimenti eius tangerent, et quotquot tangebant eum, salvi fiebant.
And wherever maybe He was entering into villages or (into *no*) cities or (into *no*) fields in the marketplaces they were laying those ailing and were begging Him that only only of the fringe the clothing of Him they shall touch, and as many as maybe (touched *N(k)O*) Him were being healed.
