Leviticus 3

1 Quod si hostia pacificorum fuerit eius oblatio, et de bobus voluerit offerre, marem sive feminam, immaculata offeret coram Domino.

But, if a peace-offering, be his oblation, if, of the herd, he himself, be bringing near, —whether male or female, without defect, shall he bring it near before Yahweh.

2 Ponetque manum super caput victimæ suæ, quæ immolabitur in introitu tabernaculi testimonii, fundentque filii Aaron sacerdotes, sanguinem per altaris circuitum.

Then shall he lean his hand upon the head of his oblation, and slay it at the entrance of the tent of meeting, —and the sons of Aaron the priests shall dash the blood against the altar round about,

3 Et offerent de hostia pacificorum in oblationem Domino, adipem qui operit vitalia, et quidquid pinguedinis est intrinsecus:

Then shall he bring near out of the peace-offering, an altar-flame unto Yahweh, —the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards;

4 duos renes cum adipe quo teguntur ilia, et reticulum iecoris cum renunculis.

and the two kidneys, and the fat which is upon them, which is upon the loins, —and the caul upon the liver, upon the kidneys, shall he remove it.

5 Adolebuntque ea super altare in holocaustum, lignis igne supposito: in oblationem suavissimi odoris Domino.

Then shall the sons of Aaron make thereof a perfume at the altar, upon the ascending-sacrifice which is on the wood, which is on the fire, —an altar-flame of a satisfying odour unto Yahweh.

6 Si vero de ovibus fuerit eius oblatio et pacificorum hostia, sive masculum obtulerit, sive feminam, immaculata erunt.

But, if out of the flock, be his oblation for a peace-offering unto Yahweh, whether male or female—without defect, shall he bring it near.

7 Si agnum obtulerit coram Domino,

If a young sheep, he himself, be bringing near as his oblation, then shall he bring it near, before Yahweh.

8 ponet manum suam super caput victimæ suæ: quæ immolabitur in vestibulo tabernaculi testimonii: fundentque filii Aaron sanguinem eius per circuitum altaris.

And he shall lean his hand upon the head of his oblation, and shall slay it before the tent of meeting, —and the sons of Aaron shall dash the blood thereof against the altar round about.

9 Et offerent de pacificorum hostia sacrificium Domino: adipem et caudam totam

Then shall he bring near out of the peace-offering, an altar-flame unto Yahweh, the fat thereof the fat-tail thereof entire close to the backbone, shall he remove it, —and the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards;

10 cum renibus, et pinguedinem quæ operit ventrem atque universa vitalia, et utrumque renunculum cum adipe qui est iuxta ilia, reticulumque iecoris cum renunculis.

and the two kidneys, with the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, —and the caul that is on the liver, on the kidneys, shall he remove it.

11 Et adolebit ea sacerdos super altare in pabulum ignis et oblationis Domini.

Then shall the priest make a perfume, at the altar, —the food of an altar-flame, unto Yahweh.

12 Si capra fuerit eius oblatio, et obtulerit eam Domino,

But if a goat, be his oblation, then shall he bring it near, before Yahweh.

13 ponet manum suam super caput eius: immolabitque eam in introitu tabernaculi testimonii. Et fundent filii Aaron sanguinem eius per altaris circuitum.

And he shall lean his hand upon its head, and shall slay it before the tent of meeting, —and the sons of Aaron shall dash its blood against the altar, round about.

14 Tollentque ex ea in pastum ignis Dominici, adipem qui operit ventrem, et qui tegit universa vitalia:

Then shall he bring near therefrom as his oblation an altar-flame unto Yahweh, —the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards;

15 duos renunculos cum reticulo, quod est super eos iuxta ilia, et arvinam iecoris cum renunculis.

and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them which is on the loins, —the caul upon the liver, on the kidneys, shall he remove it.

16 Adolebitque ea super altare sacerdos in alimoniam ignis, et suavissimi odoris. Omnis adeps, Domini erit:

Then shall the priest make a perfume at the altar, —the food of an altar-flame for a satisfying odour, —all the fat—unto Yahweh.

17 iure perpetuo in generationibus, et cunctis habitaculis vestris: nec sanguinem nec adipem omnino comedetis.

An age-abiding statute to your generations, in all your dwellings, —none of the fat nor of the blood, shall ye eat.
