Iosue 19
1 Et egressa est sors secunda filiorum Simeon per cognationes suas: fuitque hereditas eorum
And then came forth the second lot for Simeon, for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families; and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah.
2 in medio possessionis filiorum Iuda: Bersabee et Sabee et Molada,
And they obtained in their inheritance Beer-sheba', [or] Sheba', and Moladah,
3 et Hasersual, Bala et Asem,
And Chazar-shu'al, and Balah, and 'Ezem,
4 et Eltholad, Bethul et Harma,
And Eltolad, and Bethul, and Chormah,
5 et Siceleg et Bethmarchaboth et Hasersusa,
And Ziklag, and Beth-hamarcaboth, and Chazar-sussah,
6 et Bethlebaoth et Sarohen: civitates tredecim, et villæ earum.
And Beth-lebaoth, and Sharuchen: thirteen cities and their villages.
7 Ain et Remmon et Athar et Asan: civitates quattuor, et villæ earum:
'Ayin, Rimmon, and 'Ether, and 'Ashan; four cities and their villages.
8 omnes viculi per circuitum urbium istarum usque ad Baalath Beer Ramath contra australem plagam. Hæc est hereditas filiorum Simeon iuxta cognationes suas,
And all the villages that were round about these cities up to Ba'alath-beer, South Ramah. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families.
9 in possessione et funiculo filiorum Iuda: quia maior erat, et idcirco filii Simeon possederunt in medio hereditatis eorum.
Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon; for the portion of the children of Judah was too much for them; therefore the children of Simeon obtained their inheritance within their inheritance.
10 Ceciditque sors tertia filiorum Zabulon per cognationes suas: factus est terminus possessionis eorum usque Sarid.
And then came up the third lot for the children of Zebulun according to their families; and the boundary of their inheritance extended up to Sarid;
11 Ascenditque de mari et Merala, et pervenit in Debbaseth, usque ad torrentem qui est contra Ieconam.
And their boundary went up toward the sea, and Mar'alah, and touched on Dabbesheth, and touched on the brook that is before Yokne'am;
12 Et revertitur de Sared contra Orientem in fines Ceseleththabor: et egreditur ad Dabereth, ascenditque contra Iaphie.
And turned from Sarid eastward toward the rising of the sun unto the border of Kisloth-tabor, and then went out to Daberath, and went up to Yaphia';
13 Et inde pertransit usque ad orientalem plagam Gethhepher et Thacasin: et egreditur in Remmon, Amthar et Noa.
And from there it passed on in front to the east unto Gath-Chepher, to 'Eth-kazin, and went out to Rimmon, whence it extended to Ne'ah;
14 Et circuit ad Aquilonem Hanathon: suntque egressus eius Vallis Iephthael,
And this boundary turned about on the north side to Channathon; and its terminations were in the valley of Yiph-thach-el;
15 et Cateth et Naalol et Semeron et Ierala et Bethlehem: civitates duodecim, et villæ earum.
And Kattath, and Nahallal, and Shimron, and Yidalah, and Beth-lechem: twelve cities with their villages.
16 Hæc est hereditas tribus filiorum Zabulon per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.
This is the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.
17 Issachar egressa est sors quarta per cognationes suas.
For Issachar came out the fourth lot, for the children of Issachar according to their families.
18 Fuitque eius hereditas Iezrael et Casaloth et Sunem
And their boundary went to Yizre'el, and Kessulloth, and Shunem,
19 et Hapharaim et Seon, et Anaharath
And Chapharayim, and Shion, and Anacharath,
20 et Rabboth et Cesion, Abes,
And Rabbith, and Kishyon, and Abez,
21 et Rameth, et Engannim, et Enhadda et Bethpheses.
And Remeth, and 'En-gannim, and 'En-chaddah, and Beth-pazazz;
22 Et pervenit terminus eius usque Thabor et Sehesima et Bethsames: eruntque exitus eius Iordanis: civitates sedecim, et villæ earum.
And the boundary touched on Tabor, and Shachazimah, and Beth-shemesh; and the terminations of their boundaries were at the Jordan: sixteen cities with their villages.
23 Hæc est possessio filiorum Issachar per cognationes suas, urbes, et viculi earum.
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.
24 Ceciditque sors quinta tribui filiorum Aser per cognationes suas:
And then came out the fifth lot for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families.
25 fuitque terminus eorum Halcath et Chali et Beten et Axaph
And their boundary was Chelkath, and Chali, and Beten, and Achshaph,
26 et Elmelech et Amaad et Messal: et pervenit usque ad Carmelum maris et Sihor et Labanath.
And Allammelech, and 'Am'ad, and Mishal; and it touched on Carmel at the sea, and on Shichor-libnath;
27 Ac revertitur contra orientem Bethdagon: et pertransit usque Zabulon et Vallem Iephthael contra Aquilonem in Bethemec et Nehiel. Egrediturque ad lævam Cabul,
And it turned toward the rising of the sun to Beth-dagon, and touched on Zebulun, and on the valley of Yiphthach-el at the north, on Beth-ha'emek, and Ne'iel, and went out to Cabul on the left,
28 et Abran et Rohob et Hamon et Cana, usque ad Sidonem magnam.
And 'Ebron, and Rechob, and Chammon, and Kanah, up to Zidon the great city,
29 Revertiturque in Horma usque ad civitatem munitissimam Tyrum, et usque Hosa: eruntque exitus eius in mare de funiculo Achziba:
And then the boundary turned back to Ramah, and to the city of Mibzar-zor; and then the boundary turned back to Chossah; and the terminations were by the sea in the district toward Achzib;
30 et Amma et Aphec et Rohob: civitates viginti duæ, et villæ earum.
And 'Ummah and Aphek, and Rechob: twenty and two cities with their villages.
31 Hæc est possessio filiorum Aser per cognationes suas, urbesque et viculi earum.
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.
32 Filiorum Nephthali sexta sors cecidit per familias suas:
Unto the children of Naphtali came out the sixth lot, for the children of Naphtali according to their families.
33 et cœpit terminus de Heleph et Elon in Saananim, et Adami, quæ est Neceb, et Iebnael usque Lecum: et egressus eorum usque ad Iordanem:
And their boundary was from Cheleph, from Allon-beza-'anannim, and Adami-hanekeb, and Yabneel, as far as Lakkum; and its terminations were at the Jordan;
34 revertiturque terminus contra Occidentem in Azanotthabor, atque inde egreditur in Hucuca, et pertransit in Zabulon contra Meridiem, et in Aser contra Occidentem, et in Iuda ad Iordanem contra ortum solis.
And then the boundary turned westward to Aznoth-tabor, and went out from there to Chukkok, and touched on Zebulun on the south, and touched on Asher on the west, and on Judah upon the Jordan toward the rising of the sun.
35 Civitates munitissimæ, Assedim, Ser, et Emath, et Reccath et Cenereth,
And fortified cities, Ziddim, Zer, and Chammath, Rakkath, and Kinnereth,
36 et Edema et Arama, Asor
And Adamah, and Ramah, and Chazor,
37 et Cedes et Edrai, Enhasor
And Kedesh, and Edre'i, and 'En-chazor,
38 et Ieron et Magdalel, Horem et Bethanath et Bethsames: civitates decem et novem, et villæ earum.
And Yiron, and Migdal-el, Chorem, and Beth-'anath, and Beth-shemesh: nineteen cities with their villages.
39 Hæc est possessio tribus filiorum Nephthali per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.
40 Tribui filiorum Dan per familias suas egressa est sors septima:
For the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families came out of the seventh lot.
41 et fuit terminus possessionis eius Sara et Esthaol, et Hirsemes, id est, civitas solis.
And the boundary of their inheritance was Zor'ah, and Eshtaol, and 'Ir-shemesh,
42 Selebin et Aialon et Iethela,
And Sha'alabbin, and Ayalon, and Yithlah,
43 Elon et Themna et Acron,
And Elon, and Thimnathah, and 'Ekron,
44 Elthece, Gebbethon et Balaath,
And Eltekeh, and Gibbethon, and Ba'alath,
45 et Iud et Bane et Barach et Gethremmon:
And Yehud, and Bene-berak, and Gathrimmon.
46 et Meiarcon et Arecon, cum termino qui respicit Ioppen,
And Me-hayarkon, and Rakkon, with the boundary before Yapho.
47 et ipso fine concluditur. Ascenderuntque filii Dan, et pugnaverunt contra Lesem, ceperuntque eam: et percusserunt eam in ore gladii, et possederunt, et habitaverunt in ea, vocantes nomen eius Lesem Dan, ex nomine Dan patris sui.
And the territory of the children of Dan went out beyond these; for the children of Dan went up and fought against Leshem, and captured it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and took possession of it, and dwelt therein, and they called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.
48 Hæc est possessio tribus filiorum Dan, per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.
49 Cumque complesset sorte dividere Terram singulis per tribus suas, dederunt filii Israel possessionem Iosue filio Nun in medio sui,
And they made an end of dividing the land for inheritance after its boundaries; and the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them;
50 iuxta præceptum Domini, urbem quam postulavit, Thamnath Saraa in monte Ephraim: et ædificavit civitatem, habitavitque in ea.
By the order of the Lord did they give him the city which he had asked, Timnathserach on the mountain of Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein.
51 Hæ sunt possessiones, quas sorte diviserunt Eleazar sacerdos, et Iosue filius Nun, et principes familiarum, ac tribuum filiorum Israel in Silo, coram Domino ad ostium tabernaculi testimonii, partitique sunt Terram.
These are the inheritances, which Elazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the divisions of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot, at Shiloh before the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.
