< Psalmorum 65 >
1 In finem. Psalmus David, canticum Jeremiæ et Ezechielis populo transmigrationis, cum inciperent exire. [Te decet hymnus, Deus, in Sion, et tibi reddetur votum in Jerusalem.
TO THE OVERSEER. A PSALM OF DAVID. A SONG. To You, silence [and] praise, O God, in Zion, And to You a vow is completed.
2 Exaudi orationem meam; ad te omnis caro veniet.
Hearer of prayer, all flesh comes to You.
3 Verba iniquorum prævaluerunt super nos, et impietatibus nostris tu propitiaberis.
Matters of iniquities were mightier than I, Our transgressions—You cover them.
4 Beatus quem elegisti et assumpsisti: inhabitabit in atriis tuis. Replebimur in bonis domus tuæ; sanctum est templum tuum,
O the blessedness of [him whom] You choose, And draw near, he inhabits Your courts, We are satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Your holy temple.
5 mirabile in æquitate. Exaudi nos, Deus, salutaris noster, spes omnium finium terræ, et in mari longe.
By fearful things in righteousness You answer us, O God of our salvation, The confidence of all far off The ends of the earth and sea.
6 Præparans montes in virtute tua, accinctus potentia;
Establishing mountains by His power, He has been girded with might,
7 qui conturbas profundum maris, sonum fluctuum ejus. Turbabuntur gentes,
Restraining the noise of seas, the noise of their billows, And the multitude of the peoples.
8 et timebunt qui habitant terminos a signis tuis; exitus matutini et vespere delectabis.
And the inhabitants of the uttermost parts Are afraid from Your signs, You cause the outgoings of morning and evening to sing.
9 Visitasti terram, et inebriasti eam; multiplicasti locupletare eam. Flumen Dei repletum est aquis; parasti cibum illorum: quoniam ita est præparatio ejus.
You have inspected the earth, and water it, You make it very rich, the stream of God [is] full of water, You prepare their grain, When thus You prepare it,
10 Rivos ejus inebria; multiplica genimina ejus: in stillicidiis ejus lætabitur germinans.
Its ridges have been filled, Its furrow has been deepened, You soften it with showers, Its springing up You bless.
11 Benedices coronæ anni benignitatis tuæ, et campi tui replebuntur ubertate.
You have crowned the year of Your goodness, And Your paths drop fatness.
12 Pinguescent speciosa deserti, et exsultatione colles accingentur.
The pastures of a wilderness drop, And You gird the hills with joy.
13 Induti sunt arietes ovium, et valles abundabunt frumento; clamabunt, etenim hymnum dicent.]
The meadows are clothed with the flock, And valleys are covered with grain, They shout—indeed, they sing!
