Psalmorum 131

1 Canticum graduum David. [Domine, non est exaltatum cor meum, neque elati sunt oculi mei, neque ambulavi in magnis, neque in mirabilibus super me.

[A Song of Ascents. By David.] LORD, my heart isn't haughty, nor my eyes lofty; nor do I concern myself with great matters, or things too wonderful for me.

2 Si non humiliter sentiebam, sed exaltavi animam meam: sicut ablactatus est super matre sua, ita retributio in anima mea.

Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me.

3 Speret Israël in Domino, ex hoc nunc et usque in sæculum.]

Israel, hope in the LORD, from this time forth and forevermore.
