I Regum 10
1 Sed et regina Saba, audita fama Salomonis in nomine Domini, venit tentare eum in ænigmatibus.
And [the] queen of Sheba [was] hearing [the] report of Solomon to [the] name of Yahweh and she came to put to [the] test him by difficult matters.
2 Et ingressa Jerusalem multo cum comitatu et divitiis, camelis portantibus aromata, et aurum infinitum nimis, et gemmas pretiosas, venit ad regem Salomonem, et locuta est ei universa quæ habebat in corde suo.
And she came Jerusalem towards with a retinue numerous very camels carrying spices and gold much very and stone[s] precious and she came to Solomon and she spoke to him all that it was with heart her.
3 Et docuit eam Salomon omnia verba quæ proposuerat: non fuit sermo qui regem posset latere, et non responderet ei.
And he told to her Solomon all words her not it was anything hidden from the king which not he told to her.
4 Videns autem regina Saba omnem sapientiam Salomonis, et domum quam ædificaverat,
And she saw [the] queen of Sheba all [the] wisdom of Solomon and the house which he had built.
5 et cibos mensæ ejus, et habitacula servorum, et ordines ministrantium, vestesque eorum, et pincernas, et holocausta quæ offerebat in domo Domini: non habebat ultra spiritum.
And [the] food of table his and [the] seating of servants his and [the] standing of (servants his *Q(K)*) and clothes their and cup-bearers his and burnt offering[s] his which he offered up [the] house of Yahweh and not it was in her still breath.
6 Dixitque ad regem: Verus est sermo quem audivi in terra mea
And she said to the king truth it was the word which I heard in own land my on words your and on wisdom your.
7 super sermonibus tuis, et super sapientia tua: et non credebam narrantibus mihi, donec ipsa veni, et vidi oculis meis, et probavi quod media pars mihi nuntiata non fuerit: major est sapientia et opera tua, quam rumor quem audivi.
And not I believed the words until that I came and they saw eyes my and here! not it was told to me the half you have added wisdom and good to the report which I heard.
8 Beati viri tui, et beati servi tui, qui stant coram te semper, et audiunt sapientiam tuam.
How blessed! [are] people your how blessed! [are] servants your these who stand before you continually who hear wisdom your.
9 Sit Dominus Deus tuus benedictus, cui complacuisti, et posuit te super thronum Israël, eo quod dilexerit Dominus Israël in sempiternum, et constituit te regem ut faceres judicium et justitiam.
May he be Yahweh God your blessed who he delights in you to put you on [the] throne of Israel because loves Yahweh Israel for ever and he has appointed you to king to do justice and righteousness.
10 Dedit ergo regi centum viginti talenta auri, et aromata multa nimis, et gemmas pretiosas: non sunt allata ultra aromata tam multa, quam ea quæ dedit regina Saba regi Salomoni.
And she gave to the king one hundred and twenty - talent[s] of gold and spices much very and stone[s] precious not it has come like the spice that again to abundance which she gave [the] queen of Sheba to the king Solomon.
11 (Sed et classis Hiram, quæ portabat aurum de Ophir, attulit ex Ophir ligna thyina multa nimis, et gemmas pretiosas.
And also [the] ship[s] of Hiram which it carried gold from Ophir it brought from Ophir wood of almug much very and stone[s] precious.
12 Fecitque rex de lignis thyinis fulcra domus Domini et domus regiæ, et citharas lyrasque cantoribus: non sunt allata hujuscemodi ligna thyina, neque visa usque in præsentem diem.)
And he made the king [the] wood of the almug support[s] for [the] house of Yahweh and for [the] house of the king and harps and lyres for the singers not it has come thus wood of almug and not it has been seen until the day this.
13 Rex autem Salomon dedit reginæ Saba omnia quæ voluit et petivit ab eo, exceptis his quæ ultro obtulerat ei munere regio. Quæ reversa est, et abiit in terram suam cum servis suis.
And the king Solomon he gave to [the] queen of Sheba all desire her which she asked besides [that] which he had given to her according to [the] hand of the king Solomon and she turned and she went to own land her she and servants her.
14 Erat autem pondus auri quod afferebatur Salomoni per annos singulos, sexcentorum sexaginta sex talentorum auri,
And it was [the] weight of the gold which it came to Solomon in a year one six hundred sixty and six talent[s] of gold.
15 excepto eo quod afferebant viri qui super vectigalia erant, et negotiatores, universique scruta vendentes, et omnes reges Arabiæ, ducesque terræ.
Apart from [the] men of the merchants and [the] merchandise of the traders and all [the] kings of the Arab[s] and [the] governors of the land.
16 Fecit quoque rex Salomon ducenta scuta de auro purissimo: sexcentos auri siclos dedit in laminas scuti unius.
And he made the king Solomon two hundred body shield[s] gold beaten six hundred gold he put up on the body shield one.
17 Et trecentas peltas ex auro probato: trecentæ minæ auri unam peltam vestiebant: posuitque eas rex in domo saltus Libani.
And three hundred shields gold beaten three minas gold he put up on the shield one and he put them the king [the] House of [the] Forest of Lebanon.
18 Fecit etiam rex Salomon thronum de ebore grandem: et vestivit eum auro fulvo nimis,
And he made the king a throne of ivory great and he overlaid it gold refined.
19 qui habebat sex gradus: et summitas throni rotunda erat in parte posteriori: et duæ manus hinc atque inde tenentes sedile: et duo leones stabant juxta manus singulas.
Six steps [belonged] to the throne and a top round [belonged] to the throne behind it and hands from this and from this [were] to [the] place of the sitting and two lions [were] standing beside the hands.
20 Et duodecim leunculi stantes super sex gradus hinc atque inde: non est factum tale opus in universis regnis.
And two [plus] ten lions [were] standing there on [the] six the steps from this and from this not it had been made thus for all kingdoms.
21 Sed et omnia vasa quibus potabat rex Salomon, erant aurea: et universa supellex domus saltus Libani de auro purissimo: non erat argentum, nec alicujus pretii putabatur in diebus Salomonis,
And all [the] vessels of [the] drink of the king Solomon [were] gold and all [the] utensils of [the] House of [the] Forest of Lebanon [were] gold pure gold there not [was] silver not [it was] reckoned in [the] days of Solomon to anything.
22 quia classis regis per mare cum classe Hiram semel per tres annos ibat in Tharsis, deferens inde aurum, et argentum, et dentes elephantorum, et simias, et pavos.
For [the] ship[s] of Tarshish [belonged] to the king on the sea with [the] ship[s] of Hiram one [time] to three years it came - [the] ship[s] of Tarshish carrying gold and silver ivori and monkeys and apes.
23 Magnificatus est ergo rex Salomon super omnes reges terræ divitiis et sapientia.
And he became great the king Solomon more than all [the] kings of the earth to wealth and to wisdom.
24 Et universa terra desiderabat vultum Salomonis, ut audiret sapientiam ejus, quam dederat Deus in corde ejus.
And all the earth [were] seeking [the] face of Solomon to hear wisdom his which he had put God in heart his.
25 Et singuli deferebant ei munera, vasa argentea et aurea, vestes et arma bellica, aromata quoque, et equos et mulos per annos singulos.
And they [were] bringing each gift his articles of silver and articles of gold and garments and weaponry and spices horses and mules [the] matter of a year in a year.
26 Congregavitque Salomon currus et equites, et facti sunt ei mille quadringenti currus, et duodecim millia equitum: et disposuit eos per civitates munitas, et cum rege in Jerusalem.
And he gathered Solomon chariotry and horsemen and it belonged to him one thousand and four hundred chariot[s] and two [plus] ten thousand horsemen and he led them in [the] cities of chariotry and with the king in Jerusalem.
27 Fecitque ut tanta esset abundantia argenti in Jerusalem, quanta et lapidum: et cedrorum præbuit multitudinem quasi sycomoros quæ nascuntur in campestribus.
And he made the king silver in Jerusalem like stone and cedars he made like the sycamores which [are] in the Shephelah for abundance.
28 Et educebantur equi Salomoni de Ægypto, et de Coa. Negotiatores enim regis emebant de Coa, et statuto pretio perducebant.
And [the] export of the horses which [belonged] to Solomon [was] from Egypt and from Que [the] traders of the king they took [them] from Que for a price.
29 Egrediebatur autem quadriga ex Ægypto sexcentis siclis argenti, et equus centum quinquaginta. Atque in hunc modum cuncti reges Hethæorum et Syriæ equos venundabant.
And it came up and it came out a chariot from Egypt for six hundred silver and a horse for fifty and one hundred and thus to all [the] kings of the Hittites and to [the] kings of Aram by hand their they brought [them] out.
