Now these are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel: Bela the son of Beor; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
44 Mortuus est autem Bale, et regnavit pro eo Jobab filius Zare de Bosra.
Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his place.
45 Cumque et Jobab fuisset mortuus, regnavit pro eo Husam de terra Themanorum.
Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.
46 Obiit quoque et Husam, et regnavit pro eo Adad filius Badad, qui percussit Madian in terra Moab: et nomen civitatis ejus Avith.
Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who struck Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Avith.
47 Cumque et Adad fuisset mortuus, regnavit pro eo Semla de Masreca.
Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place.
48 Sed et Semla mortuus est, et regnavit pro eo Saul de Rohoboth, quæ juxta amnem sita est.
Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth-ha-Nahar reigned in his place.
49 Mortuo quoque Saul, regnavit pro eo Balanan filius Achobor.
Shaul died, and Baal Hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his place.
50 Sed et hic mortuus est, et regnavit pro eo Adad: cujus urbis nomen fuit Phau, et appellata est uxor ejus Meetabel filia Matred filiæ Mezaab.
Baal Hanan died, and Hadad son of Bedad reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Pau; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-Zahab.
51 Adad autem mortuo, duces pro regibus in Edom esse cœperunt: dux Thamna, dux Alva, dux Jetheth,
Hadad died. The chiefs of Edom were: chief Timna, chief Alvah, chief Jetheth,
52 dux Oolibama, dux Ela, dux Phinon,
chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,
53 dux Cenez, dux Theman, dux Mabsar,
chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,
54 dux Magdiel, dux Hiram: hi duces Edom.
