| شەراب گاڵتەجاڕە و مەستی غەڵبەغەڵب دەکات، ئەوەی پێی وێڵ بێت دانا نییە. | 1 |
Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
| هەڵچوونی پاشا وەک نەڕەی شێرە، ئەوەی تووڕەیی بکات لە دژی گیانی خۆی تاوان دەکات. | 2 |
The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoever provokes him to anger sins against his own soul.
| وازهێنان لە ناکۆکی ڕێزدارییە بۆ پیاو، بەڵام هەموو گێلێک هەڵیدەگیرسێنێت. | 3 |
It is an honor for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
| لە زستاندا تەمبەڵ زەوی ناکێڵێت، بۆیە لە کاتی دروێنەدا داوای بەرهەم دەکات و دەستی ناکەوێت. | 4 |
The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.
| پلان لە دڵی مرۆڤدا ئاوێکی قووڵە، بەڵام تێگەیشتوو دەریدەهێنێت. | 5 |
Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
| زۆر کەس بانگەشەی خۆشەویستی نەگۆڕ دەکەن، بەڵام کەسی جێگای متمانە کێ دەیدۆزێتەوە؟ | 6 |
Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?
| کەسی ڕاستودروست بە ڕێگای تەواوی خۆیدا دەڕوات، دوای خۆی خۆزگە بە منداڵەکانی دەخوازرێت. | 7 |
The just man walks in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.
| پاشای دانیشتوو لەسەر تەختی دادوەری، بە چاوەکانی هەموو خراپەیەک شەن دەکات. | 8 |
A king that sits in the throne of judgment scatters away all evil with his eyes.
| کێیە دەڵێت: «دڵی خۆمم بێگەرد ڕاگرت، پاک بوومەوە لە گوناهم»؟ | 9 |
Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
| دوو کێش و دوو پێوانەی لاسەنگ، هەردووکیان قێزەونن لەلای یەزدان. | 10 |
Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.
| تەنانەت منداڵیش بە کردارەکانی دەناسرێت، ئاخۆ کردەوەکەی پاک و ڕاستە. | 11 |
Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
| گوێ کە دەبیستێت و چاو کە دەبینێت، یەزدان دروستکەری هەردووکیانە. | 12 |
The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD has made even both of them.
| حەز لە خەو مەکە نەوەک هەژار بیت، چاوت کراوە بێت و تێر نان بە. | 13 |
Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you shall be satisfied with bread.
| کڕیار دەڵێت: «خراپە، خراپە!» بەڵام کە ڕۆیشت شانازی پێوە دەکات. | 14 |
It is naught, it is naught, says the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasts.
| زێڕ هەیە و یاقووت زۆرە، بەڵام لێوی زانیاری گەوهەرێکی بەهادارە. | 15 |
There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.
| ئەگەر کەسێک بووە کەفیلی نامۆیەک کەواکەی لێ وەربگرە، بۆ بێگانەیەکیش بارمتەی لێ وەربگرە. | 16 |
Take his garment that is surety for a stranger: and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
| بەتامە بۆ مرۆڤ نانی بە فێڵ، بەڵام دواتر دەمی پڕ دەبێت لە چەو. | 17 |
Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.
| پلانەکان بە ئامۆژگاری دێنە دی، بە ڕاوێژ بجەنگە. | 18 |
Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
| دەمشڕ نهێنی ئاشکرا دەکات، بۆیە تێکەڵی چەنەباز مەبە. | 19 |
He that goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flatters with his lips.
| ئەوەی نەفرەت لە دایک و باوکی بکات، لەناو جەرگەی تاریکیدا چرای دەکوژرێتەوە. | 20 |
Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.
| میراتێک لە سەرەتای ژیان و بە زوویی دەست بکەوێت لە کۆتاییدا بێ بەرەکەت دەبێت. | 21 |
An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.
| مەڵێ: «خراپە بە خراپە دەدەمەوە.» چاوەڕێی یەزدان بکە ڕزگارت دەکات. | 22 |
Say not you, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save you.
| یەزدان قێزی لە بەکارهێنانی دوو کێشی جیاواز دەبێتەوە، تەرازووی لاسەنگ باش نییە. | 23 |
Divers weights are an abomination to the LORD; and a false balance is not good.
| هەنگاوەکانی مرۆڤ لە یەزدانەوەیە، ئیتر مرۆڤ چۆن لە ڕێگای خۆی تێدەگات؟ | 24 |
Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
| تەڵەیە بۆ مرۆڤ بە سەرەڕۆیی نەزرێک تەرخان بکات، ئینجا پاش نەزرەکە پرسوڕا بکات. | 25 |
It is a snare to the man who devours that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry.
| پاشای دانا بەدکاران شەن دەکات، بە جەنجەڕ بەسەریاندا دێت. | 26 |
A wise king scatters the wicked, and brings the wheel over them.
| چرای یەزدان ڕۆحی مرۆڤ دەپشکنێت، هەروەها هەموو ناخی دەروونیش. | 27 |
The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
| خۆشەویستی نەگۆڕ و دڵسۆزی پاشا دەپارێزن، بە خۆشەویستی نەگۆڕ تەختی دەچەسپێت. | 28 |
Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upheld by mercy.
| شانازی لاوان هێزیانە، ڕیش سپیێتیش شکۆمەندی پیرانە. | 29 |
The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head.
| برینی لێدان خراپە پاک دەکاتەوە، لێدانی قامچیش ناخی دەروون. | 30 |
The blueness of a wound cleans away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.
