پەندەکانی سلێمان 13

1 کوڕی دانا تەمبێکردنی باوکی وەردەگرێت، بەڵام گاڵتەجاڕ گوێ لە سەرزەنشت ناگرێت.

A wise son heeds his father’s discipline, but a mocker does not listen to rebuke.

2 مرۆڤ لە بەروبوومی دەمی چاکە دەخوات، ناپاکانیش ئارەزوویان توندوتیژییە.

From the fruit of his lips a man enjoys good things, but the desire of the faithless is violence.

3 ئەوەی ئاگای لە دەمی بێت گیانی خۆی دەپارێزێت، بەڵام ئەوەی زمان درێژی دەکات لەناودەچێت.

He who guards his mouth protects his life, but the one who opens his lips invites his own ruin.

4 گیانی تەمبەڵ ئارەزوو دەکات و هیچی دەست ناکەوێت، بەڵام گیانی تێکۆشەر سەرکەوتوو دەبێت.

The slacker craves yet has nothing, but the soul of the diligent is fully satisfied.

5 کەسی ڕاستودروست ڕقی لە قسەی درۆیە، بەدکاریش ڕیسوایی و شەرمەزاری دەهێنێت.

The righteous hate falsehood, but the wicked bring shame and disgrace.

6 ڕاستودروستی ئەو کەسە دەپارێزیت کە ڕێگای ڕاستە، خراپەش گوناهبار سەرەوژێر دەکات.

Righteousness guards the man of integrity, but wickedness undermines the sinner.

7 هەیە خۆی بە دەوڵەمەند دەردەخات و هیچی نییە، هەشە خۆی بە هەژار دەردەخات و سامانی زۆری هەیە.

One pretends to be rich, but has nothing; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.

8 لەوانەیە مرۆڤ بە سامانەکەی گیانی خۆی بکڕێتەوە، بەڵام هەژار گوێی لە هەڕەشە نابێت.

Riches may ransom a man’s life, but a poor man hears no threat.

9 ڕووناکی ڕاستودروستان دەگەشێتەوە، بەڵام چرای بەدکاران دەکوژێتەوە.

The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is extinguished.

10 لە لووتبەرزییەوە تەنها ناکۆکی پەیدادەبێت، بەڵام لەگەڵ ڕاوێژکاران دانایی.

Arrogance leads only to strife, but wisdom is with the well-advised.

11 ماڵێک بە ناپاکی پەیداکرابێت، کەم دەکات، بەڵام ئەوەی بە کاری دەست کۆدەبێتەوە، زیاد دەکات.

Dishonest wealth will dwindle, but what is earned through hard work will be multiplied.

12 ئومێدی درێژکراوە دڵ نەخۆش دەکات، ئارەزووی بەدیهاتووش درەختی ژیانە.

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.

13 ئەوەی سووکایەتی بە فێرکردنەکە بکات خۆی لەناودەبات، بەڵام ئەوەی ڕێزی بۆ ڕاسپاردەکە هەبێت پاداشتی دەدرێتەوە.

He who despises instruction will pay the penalty, but the one who respects a command will be rewarded.

14 فێرکردنەکانی دانا کانی ژیانە، بۆ دوورکەوتنەوە لە داوی مردن.

The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, turning one from the snares of death.

15 تێگەیشتنی باش پەسەندی بەدەستدەهێنێت، بەڵام ڕێگای ناپاکان سەختە.

Good understanding wins favor, but the way of the faithless is difficult.

16 هەموو کەسێکی ژیر بە زانیارییەوە کار دەکات، بەڵام نەزان گێلایەتی بڵاو دەکاتەوە.

Every prudent man acts with knowledge, but a fool displays his folly.

17 نێردراوی بەدکار دەکەوێتە خراپەوە، پەیامبەری دەستپاکیش چاکبوونەوە دەهێنێت.

A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a faithful envoy brings healing.

18 هەژاری و ڕیسوایی بۆ ئەوانەیە تەمبێکردن بەلاوە دەنێن، بەڵام ئەوەی سەرزەنشت لەگوێدەگرێت ڕێزدار دەبێت.

Poverty and shame come to him who ignores discipline, but whoever heeds correction is honored.

19 ئارەزووی بەدیهاتوو خۆشییە بۆ گیان، بەڵام گێل وا دەزانێت کە لادان لە خراپە شتێکی قێزەونە.

Desire fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but turning from evil is detestable to fools.

20 ئەوەی لەگەڵ دانایان دەڕوات دەبێتە دانا، هاوڕێی گێلەکانیش زیانی پێدەگات.

He who walks with the wise will become wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.

21 خراپە دوای گوناهباران دەکەوێت، بەڵام ڕاستودروستان بە چاکە پاداشت دەدرێنەوە.

Disaster pursues sinners, but prosperity is the reward of the righteous.

22 پیاوچاک میرات بۆ نەوەکانی بەجێدەهێڵێت، سامانی گوناهبارانیش بۆ ڕاستودروست هەڵدەگیردرێت.

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is passed to the righteous.

23 لەوانەیە زەویی بەیاری هەژاران خواردنی زۆری تێدابێت، بەڵام لەبەر نادادپەروەری دەبردرێت.

Abundant food is in the fallow ground of the poor, but without justice it is swept away.

24 ئەوەی ڕێگا لە کوتەک بگرێت ڕقی لە کوڕەکەیەتی، بەڵام ئەوەی خۆشیبوێت گرنگی بە تەمبێکردنی دەدات.

He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him diligently.

25 کەسی ڕاستودروست دەخوات و تێر دەبێت، بەڵام سکی بەدکاران هەر برسی دەبێت.

A righteous man eats to his heart’s content, but the stomach of the wicked is empty.
