| خوشکان و برایانم، زۆرتان مەبنە فێرکار، بزانن لێپرسینەوەی قورسترمان لەگەڵ دەکرێت. | 1 |
My brothers, not many of you should become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.
| هەموومان لە زۆر شت هەڵە دەکەین. ئەگەر یەکێک هەیە لە قسەکردندا هەڵە ناکات، ئەوە مرۆڤێکی تەواوە و دەتوانێت جڵەوی هەموو جەستەی بگرێتە دەست. | 2 |
Because we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, being able to bridle the whole body as well.
| ئێمە لغاو دەکەینە دەمی ئەسپ تاکو گوێڕایەڵمان بێت و هەموو لەشی ئاراستە بکەین. | 3 |
Consider, we put bits in horses' mouths for them to obey us, and we guide their whole body.
| سەیری کەشتی بکەن، هەرچەندە گەورەیە و بای بەهێز دەیبات، کەچی بە سەوڵێکی بچووک بۆ هەر لایەک کەشتیوان بیەوێت ئاراستەی دەکات. | 4 |
Consider also the ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the impulse of the pilot may desire.
| بە هەمان شێوە زمانیش ئەندامێکی بچووکە، بەڵام شانازی بە لەخۆباییبوونەوە دەکات. ئاگرێکی بچووک چ دارستانێکی گەورە دەسووتێنێ. | 5 |
So also the tongue is a small member and boasts great things. Just look at how great a forest a little fire can kindle!
| زمان ئاگرە، جیهانێکە لە خراپە لەنێو ئەندامانی لەشمان. زمان هەموو لەش گڵاو دەکات، ئاگر لە ژیان بەردەدات و خۆی بە گڕی دۆزەخ دادەگیرسێت. (Geenna g1067) | 6 |
And the tongue is a fire! The organization of wickedness, that is how the tongue is placed among our members, defiling the whole body and setting on fire the course of life, itself being set on fire by hell. (Geenna g1067)
| مرۆڤ دەتوانێت هەموو جۆرە ئاژەڵێکی کێوی و باڵندە و خشۆک و بوونەوەرێکی ئاوی دەستەمۆ بکات و کردووشیەتی، | 7 |
Every kind of animal and bird, reptile and sea creature, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race,
| بەڵام کەس ناتوانێت زمان دەستەمۆ بکات. خراپەیەکە ناگیرێت، پڕە لە ژەهری کوشندە. | 8 |
but no one among men is able to tame the tongue—an uncontrollable evil, full of deadly poison.
| بە زمان ستایشی یەزدان و خودای باوک دەکەین، هەر بە هەمان زمانیش نەفرەت لەو خەڵکە دەکەین کە لە شێوەی خودا دروستکراون. | 9 |
With it we bless God and Father, and with it we curse the people who have been made in God's likeness.
| ستایش و نەفرەت لە هەمان دەم دێتە دەرەوە. خوشکان و برایانم، ئەمە پەسەند نییە. | 10 |
Out of the same mouth proceed blessings and curses. My brothers, these things should not be that way.
| ئایا لە یەک کانیدا ئاوی سازگار و ئاوی سوێر هەڵدەقوڵێت؟ | 11 |
A spring does not send out sweet and bitter water from the same opening, does it?
| خوشکان و برایانم، ئایا دار هەنجیر زەیتوون دەگرێت، یان مێو هەنجیر؟ بەم شێوەیەش کانی سوێر ئاوی سازگار نادات. | 12 |
Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grape vine figs? Thus no spring yields salt water and sweet.
| کێ لەنێوتاندا دانا و تێگەیشتووە؟ با بە ڕەوشتی باشی نیشانی بدات، هەروەها بەو کارانەی کە بە بێفیزییەوە ئەنجامی دەدات و لە داناییەوە سەرچاوە دەگرێت. | 13 |
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him exhibit his works in the meekness of wisdom, by his good way of life.
| بەڵام ئەگەر چاوپیسی تاڵ و خۆپەرستیتان لە دڵدا بوو، شانازی مەکەن یان نکۆڵی لە ڕاستی مەکەن. | 14 |
But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not boast and lie against the truth—
| ئەم داناییە لە ئاسمانەوە دانەبەزیوە، بەڵکو دنیایی و مرۆڤانە و شەیتانییە، | 15 |
such ‘wisdom’ is not coming down from Above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.
| چونکە چاوپیسی و خۆپەرستی لەکوێ بێت، گێرەشێوێنی و هەموو کارێکی خراپ لەوێیە. | 16 |
Because where envy and selfish ambition exist, there is unruliness and every foul practice.
| بەڵام ئەو داناییەی لە ئاسمانەوەیە، لەپێش هەموو شتێک پاکە، دواتر ئاشتیخوازە، خۆنەویستە، گوێڕایەڵە، پڕ لە بەزەییە و بەروبوومی چاکە، لایەنگر و دووڕوو نییە. | 17 |
In contrast, the wisdom from Above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
| ئاشتیسازان تۆوی ئاشتی دەچێنن و بەرهەمەکەی ڕاستودروستی دەبێت. | 18 |
Now the fruit of righteousness is planted in peace by those making peace.
