< Tite 1 >

1 Paulusi, mutanga we Ereenza ni mutumwa wa Jesu Kereste, ke tumelo ye ereenza ni Vatu Vaketetwe ni zivo ye niti izumizana ni vurumeri.
PAUL, a servant of God, and a legate of Jesus the Messiah; according to the faith of the elect of God, and the knowledge of the truth which is in the fear of God,
2 Iva Vena i sepo yo vuhalo vusamani vwe Ereenza, iye a sa chengi, ava sepisi pili izinako niziseni kuva kwateni. (aiōnios g166)
concerning the hope of eternal life, which the veracious God promised before the times of the world; (aiōnios g166)
3 Ke nako iswanera, cha patulula lizwi lyakwe lyava nihi kuti ni lilete. Ni va tendi vuti kuya ke tayero ye Ereenza Muhazi wentu.
and in due time he hath manifested his word, by means of our announcement, which was confided to me by the command of God our Life-giver;
4 Kwa Tite, mwana mwitumelo ye niti yetu. Chisemo ni nkozo izwa kwe Ereenza Eshetu ni Christe Jesu Muhanzi wetu.
to Titus, a real son after the common faith: Grace and peace from God our Father, and from our Lord Jesus the Messiah, our Life-giver.
5 Keli evaka niva kusiyi mwa Kerete, kuti uva kanye zintu zisa manite ni keta vayetereri kayedisi mwi tolopo muni va kucho.
For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou mightest regulate the things deficient, and establish elders in every city, as I directed thee:
6 Muyetereri u swanela kusa nyazahala, mukwame wa mwanakazi umina, ni vana bakwe vaswanela kusepahala basiye kunyaswa cho vuvi ni kuvula ikute.
him who is blameless, who is the husband of one wife, and hath believing children, who are no revellers, nor ungovernable in sensuality.
7 Inswanelo ku muyendisi, muyendise we zubo ye Reenza, kusanyazahala. Uswanela kusa zuweka kapa kulinyemuna. U swanela kusabenga benga, kasaneli kutwaela kunywa iwaine, isinyi wenkondo, ni kusha lya hahulu.
For an elder ought to be blameless, as the steward of God; and not be self-willed, nor irascible, nor excessive in wine, nor with hands swift to strike, nor a lover of base gains.
8 Nihakwina vulyo, uswanela kuwola kutambula vene, mulikani wa zilontu. Uswanela kuba utalifite ulukite, vu ireeza, ni yo wolakulikwata.
But he should be a lover of strangers, and a lover of good deeds, and be sober, upright, kind-hearted, and restraining himself from evil passions;
9 Mi uswanela ku kwata ahuulu kulinzwi lisepehala liva rutwa, cho kuta kuti a wole ku susuwenza vamwi ni intuto ilotu ni kusikulula vose va mulwisa.
and studious of the doctrine of the word of faith, that he may be able by his wholesome teaching both to console, and to rebuke them that are contentious.
10 Kwina vantu vava sandukiri vangi, sihulu avo vo mupato. Mazwi avo kaena ituso. Valichenga ni kuhitisa vatu mwi nzila isali njoyo.
For many are unsubmissive, and their discourses vain; and they mislead the minds of people, especially such as are of the circumcision.
11 Mi vaswanela ku zimikwa. Varuta ziva sa swaneli kuruta kutenda bufumu vufosahele ni kuhauhanya masika onse.
The mouth of these ought to be stopped: they corrupt many families; and they teach what they ought not, for the sake of base gains.
12 Umwina kuvali, utalilifite wavo, chati, “Makerete kuvasiyi kuchenga, vuvi ni ziñolozi zitiza, mavumu makata.”
One of them, a prophet of their own, said, The Cretans are always mendacious, evil beasts, idle bellies.
13 Iyi ndava ye niti, cwale muvasikulule luli kuti va ve ni tumelo izuweka.
And this testimony is true. Therefore chide them sharply; that they may be sound in the faith,
14 Musiye kuteeka matangu a ma Juda kapa milayo ya vantu vasandula initi.
and may not throw themselves into Jewish fables, and into the precepts of men who hate the truth.
15 Kwavo va jolola, zintu zonse jolola. Kwavo va va sachenete ni va sazumini, ka kwina colola. Mi mihupulo yavo ni maikuto avo e zwile vuvi.
For to the pure, every thing is pure; but to them who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but their understanding is defiled, and their conscience.
16 Vata kuti venzi Ireeza, linu vamusapula muzitendantu zavo. Vena mitendo mivi nikusa zuwa. Ni musevezi milotu ivakanga.
And they profess that they know God, but in their works they deny him; and they are odious, and disobedient, and to every good work reprobates.
