Mareka 8
1 Mwaana mazuva, kuvali kwina hape chinavuungi chikando, mi kena vavena chimwi chokulya. Jesu cha sumpa varutwana vakwe ni kucho kuvali,
And in those days, when the multitude was great, and had nothing to eat, he called his disciples, and said to them:
2 “Nina inse ku cinavuungi, kakuli vazwilile havusu kuva name cha mazuva o tatwe mi nivasena chivalya.
I compassionate this multitude; for, lo, three days have they continued with me, and they have nothing to eat.
3 Heva ni nivatumina kuya kumunzi wavo nivasalile vawola kuzuminina munzira. Imi vamwi kuvali vakazwa mulyendo lule.”
And if I send them to their homes fasting, they will faint by the way: for some of them have come from a great distance.
4 Varutwana vakwe chiva mwitava, “Chokuhi kwete tuwane ziinkwa zilikeene mwechi chivaka chisena vaantu kutiveekute?”
His disciples say to him: Whence can one, here in the desert, satisfy all these with bread?
5 Cha vavuza, “Zongayi ziinkwa zimukwete?” Nichivati, “Iyanza ni tovere.”
And he asked them: How many loaves have ye? They say to him, Seven.
6 Cha layera chinavuungi kwi kala hansi. Cha hinda zinkwa zimana iyanza nizovere, chali tumera, ni kuzi gamoona. Naziha kuvarutwana vakwe kuvika havusu bwavo, mi chivazikaa havusu vwa chinavuungi.
And he directed the multitudes to recline on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and blessed, and brake, and grave to his disciples to set forth; and they set before the multitudes.
7 Mukuti navo vaavena inswi zilikene, imi hamana kuha buitumelo chavo, na laela varutwana kuziyava nazo.
And there were a few fishes; and them he also blessed, and ordered them set forth.
8 Nivalya nikwikuta. Imi nivatotola vufwafwali vuvashele, ziseye zikando zimana iyaza nizo vere.
And they ate, and were satisfied: and they took up seven baskets of the remaining fragments.
9 Vantu vavakusaka kulikana lule lone. Ni chava tumina kuyenda.
And the men who had eaten, were about four thousand: and he sent them away.
10 Hohwaho chechila muchikepe ni varutwana vakwe, niva yenda muchikiliti cha Dalumanuta.
And immediately he entered a ship, with his disciples, and came to the place Dalmanutha.
11 varisi niveza kuzwa nikutanga kukanana naye. Niva muvuza chisupo chizwila kwiwulu kumulika.
And the Pharisees came out, and began to dispute with him; and, to tempt him, they demanded of him a sign from heaven.
12 Natuliza muhuza muluhuho nikucho, “Chizi ulu lusika lwahanu halukumbila chisupo? Chabu niti kwenu, kakwina chisupo chete nichihewe kolu lusika.”
And he sighed with his breath, and said: Why doth this generation seek after a sign? Verily I say to you, No sign will be given to this generation.
13 Linu chava siya, nechila muchikepe niku yenda kuyimwi imbali.
And he left them, and embarked in the ship; and they passed to the other shore.
14 Lyahanu varutwana nivazivala kulihindila zilyo. Kena vavena nanga chikwa chihitilila chimwina muchikepe.
And they had forgotten to take bread with them, and had but a single cake in the ship with them.
15 Navakalimela nati, mulole imi mugantele, “mulungo wa Mafarisi ni mulungo wa Heroda.”
And he charged them, and said to them: Take heed, and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.
16 Varutwana nichi vavuzana, “Kakuti katwina Chiinkwa.”
And they reasoned one with another, and said: It is, because we have no bread.
17 Jesu avakwizi zechi, ni chacho kuvali, “Chinzi hamuvuzana kazakusava ni chiinkwa? Kana nahanu kamu zuwi? Kamu zuwisisa? Inkulo zenu za sanduka kusa tekeleza?
And Jesus knew it, and said to them: Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? Do ye still not know, nor understand? How long will your heart be hard?
18 Mwina menso, kamuvoni? Mwina matwi, kamuzuwi? Kamuzezi?
and ye have eyes, but see not? and have ears, but hear not, nor reflect?
19 Hani gamoona ziinkwa zimana iyanza mukati kavaantu vena lule vuhinda iyanza, zi seye zongayi zivezuli vufwalifwali vwa Chiikwa zimu vahindi?” Chivati kwali, “Ikumi lyonke nizovere.”
When I broke the five loaves to five thousand, how many baskets full of the fragments took ye up? They say to him: Twelve.
20 Imi hani gamoona ziinkwa zi hinda iyanza nizovere, mukati kavaantu vena lule luhinda minwe yoone, zitanda zongayi zivezuli zimuva hindi?” Chivacho kwali, “Zihinda iyanza nizovere.”
He saith to them. And when the seven to four thousand, how many baskets full of the fragments took ye up? They say: Seven.
21 Chati, “Nahanu kamu zuwisisi?”
He saith to them: Why is it that, to this time, ye do not consider?
22 Niveza kwa Betisaida. Vaantu uko chiva leta kwali mukwame yasavoni ni kukumbira Jesu kuti a muwoonde.
And he came to Bethsaida: and they brought to him a blind man, and besought him to touch him.
23 Jesu chawoonda mukwame yasavoni kwi yanza, ni kumutwala kunze yo munzi. Hachaswira ha menso akwe ni kuvika mayanza akwe hali, Chamu vuza, “Kwina cho vona?”
And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the village, and spit on his eyes, and laid on his hand: and asked him, what he saw.
24 Nichalola mwiwulu, ni kucho, “Ni vweene vantu vayenda ili zisamu.”
And he gazed, and said: I see men like trees which walk.
25 Linu cha muvika hape mayanza akwe hamenso akwe, imi mukwame che yalula menso akwe, chavozekezwa kuvona kwakwe, ni chavona zintu zonse neenza.
Again he laid his hand on his eyes, and he was recovered, and saw every thing plainly.
26 Jesu cha mutumina kunzuvo yakwe ni kucho, “Kanji winjili mwitoropo.”
And he sent him to his house, and said to him: Neither enter into the village, nor tell any person in the village.
27 Jesu a vayendi ni varutwana vakwe muminzi ya Sizaria Filipi. Munzira cha vuza varutwana vakwe, “Vaantu vata kunti njeme ni?”
And Jesus and his disciples went to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And he asked his disciples by the way, and said to them: Who, do men say of me, that I am?
28 Chiva mwitava ni kucho, “Johani Mukolovezi. Vamwi vacho, 'Eliya' imi vamwi, 'Zumwi wa kuvaporofita.'”
And they said to him: That thou art John the Baptizer; and others: That thou art Elijah; and others: That thou art one of the prophets.
29 Chava vuza, “Inwe mucho kuti njeme ni?” Pitorosi chati kwali, “Njewe Keresite.”
Jesus said to them: And who, do ye yourselves say of me, that I am? Simon replied, and said to him: Thou art the Messiah, the Son of the living God.
30 Jesu chavakalimera kusa wambila nanga umwiina kakwe.
And he charged them, that they should say this of him to no person.
31 Imi chatanga kuvaruta kuti Mwana wa Muntu uyelele kusukuluka zintu zingi, imi mwa kanwa kuvakulwana ni vapurisita vakulwana ni vañoli, imi kehayiwe, imi hakumana mazuva otatwe kavuuke.
And he began to teach them, that the Son of man was about to suffer much, and be rejected by the Elders and by the chief priests and by the Scribes, and be killed, and rise on the third day.
32 Nawamba ichi chokujoloza. Linu Pitolosi na muhindira ku bali ni kukatanga kumukalimera.
And he spoke out the thing distinctly. And Cephas took him, and began to rebuke him.
33 Kono Jesu nachevuka ni kulolelela kuvarutwana vakwe ni ku kalimera Pitorosi ni kucho, “Voole mwisule lyangu, Satani! Kovileli ni zintu za Ireeza, kono chanzintu zavaantu.”
But he turned, and looked upon his disciples, and rebuked Simon, and said: Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou dost not consider what is of God, but what is of men.
34 Linu cha sumpa chinavuuungi ni varutwana vakwe hamwina, ni kucho kuvali, “heva zumwi usaka kunichilira, u swanera kulikana iye mwine, anyemune chifapano chakwe, ni kunichilira.
And Jesus called the multitude, together with his disciples, and said to them: Whoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and come after me.
35 Kakuti yense yosaka kuhaza vuhalo vwakwe ka vusinyeherwe, imi yense yo sinyeherwa vuhalo vwakwe chevaka lyangu ni lya Ivangeli, mwa vuhaze.
For, whoever will preserve his life, shall lose it; and whoever will lose his life on my account, and on account of my tidings, shall preserve it.
36 Chinzi chawana muntu, ku waana inkanda yonse, ni kusinyeherwa vuhalo bwakwe?
For, what will a man be profited, if he gain the whole world, and lose his life?
37 Chinzi muntu chawola kuha mu kuchinchana ni vuhalo vwakwe?
Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?
38 Yense yoni swavera ni maanzwi angu munu muchivi cha lusika, Mwaana o Muntu ka muswavere hakeza munkaanya Ivesi hamwina ni mailoi a jolola.”
For, whoever shall be ashamed of me, and of my words, in this sinful and adulterous generation, of him also will the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father, with his holy angels.
