< Jakovo 4 >

1 Hanu ni mi wambila chizi ha mulilwisa ni ku kanana mukati kenu? Kena kuti mubonse mu suna ku tenda zintu zibi zi mu suna ahulu ku tenda zintu zisa tabisi ba mwenu?
Where do the wars and disputes among you come from? Is it not precisely from your pleasures, the ones at war in your members?
2 Mu shukelwa zintu, mi kamu zi wani. Mwi ihaya bantu ba mi bindisa kuti muzi wane, mi kamu wani zimu suna. Mu lwa ni kukanana. Kono ka muwani zimu suni kakuti ka mu kumbili kwe Ireeza.
You crave and do not have; you murder and covet and are not able to obtain; you fight and war. You do not have because you do not ask.
3 Niha mu kumbila kamu wani kakuti mukumbililo wenu kana mu lotu, kakuti muzi tendise mu mu sunina.
You ask and do not receive because you ask wrongly, so that you may lavish it on your pleasures.
4 Inwe basangu! Ka mwizi kuti ku suna nze ikanda ku lwisa Ireeza? Ni hakuba bulyo yo suna kuba mulikani wa ze inkanda uli tenda chila cha Simwine.
Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? So whoever may want to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
5 Kapa muwana kuti ka kwina ibaka Ireeza haba wamba bulyo “Luhuho lwaba biki kwetu luhala lwina ifufa ikando?
Or do you suppose that the Scripture says in vain that the Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously?
6 Kono Simwine utu ha chisemo, mi iñolo liti, “Ireeza u kanina bali kumusa, kono uha chisemo ku bali bika hansi.”
But He gives greater grace; therefore He says: “God resists proud ones, but gives grace to humble ones.”
7 Mi mulitule kwa Simwine. Mu tande satani, mi kazwe kwenu.
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
8 Mwize hafuhi ni Simwine, mi keze hafuhi nenwe. Mujoloze mayanza, inwe mahedeni, mi mujoloze inkulo zenu, inwe mwina mihupulo yobele.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Sinners, cleanse your hands! Double-minded, purify your hearts!
9 Mu likalilwe, mulile, mi mubokolole! Mu leke ku seka kwenu ku sanduke chililo mi ku sanga kube maswabi.
Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned into mourning, and your joy into dejection.
10 Mulikokobeze habusu bwe Ireeza, mi kami nyamune hewulu.
Humble yourself before the Lord and He will exalt you.
11 Kanzi muwambi zibi ku ba mwenu, bakwangu. Muntu yo wamba zibi kwa mwakwe kapa kuatula mu kwako ha wamba chibi hamulao u atula mulao. Heba no atula mulao, kena umu tendi wa mulao, kono umuatuli.
Brothers, do not speak evil of one another. Because the one speaking against a brother and judging his brother speaks against a law and judges a law. So if you judge a law you are not a law-doer but a judge.
12 Hesi yenke njo ha mulao mi njo atula. Nji yenke yo haza ni kushinya. Njinwe bani, inwe mu atula ba mu bambene nabo?
The Lawgiver and Judge is One, the one who is able to save and to destroy. So who are you (sg) to be judging someone who is different?
13 Hanu, mutekeleze, inwe mu wamba kuti “Sunu kapa Izona kantu yende ku muleñeni, mu ka wuze mi muka tende iñambekelo.”
Come now, you who say, “Today and tomorrow let us travel to that certain city, spend a year there, do business and make a profit;”
14 Njeni wizi chete ni chitendahale izona, mi buhalo bwenu njo buhi? Mihe mu mume wiza kenako inche ni ku mana.
whereas you do not know anything about the morrow. For what is our life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time but then vanishes away.
15 Kambe, muwamba kuti, “Heba Ireeza na suna, heba ni tuchi hala katu tende ichi kapa china”.
Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”
16 Kono hanu muli tundula ka mitendo yi mu suna ku tenda. Zonse za kuli tundula bubi.
But now you boast in your arrogant pretensions. All such boasting is malignant.
17 Muntu yense wizi ku tenda chilotu kono ka chi tendi, kwa li chibe.
Therefore, to the one knowing to do good and not doing it, to him it is sin.
