1 Nga kaskas pwayena. Nga ma lun Christ, ac nga tia kikiap. Nunak lun insiuk, su kolyuk sin Ngun Mutal, akpwayeye nu sik lah nga tia kikiap
I tell the truth in Christ. I do not lie, and my conscience bears witness with me in the Holy Spirit,
2 ke nga fahk lah nga arulana asor yohk, ac keok lun insiuk tia ku in wanginla
that for me there is great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart.
3 ke sripen mwet srahk sifacna, mwet Jew! Ke sripalos nga kena tuh ngan sifacna eisyuyang nu ye selnga lun God ac sriyukla liki Christ, fin ac tuh ku in kasrelos.
For I could wish that I myself would be cursed and set apart from Christ for the sake of my brothers, those of my own race according to the flesh.
4 Elos mwet sulosolla lun God; El oru tuh elos in ma natul ac sang wolana lal nu selos; El oakiya wulela saok lal yorolos ac sang nu selos Ma Sap; alu pwaye oasr selos; elos eis wuleang puspis sin God;
They are Israelites. They have adoption, the glory, the covenants, the gift of the law, the worship of God, and the promises.
5 elos tuku ke fwilin tulik nutin papa matu pwengpeng lun mwet Israel; ac Christ, ke el moul in luman mwet, el ma pac wialos. Lela God, su Leum fin ma nukewa, in kaksakinyuk nwe tok! Amen. (aiōn g165)
Theirs are the ancestors from whom Christ has come with respect to the flesh—he who is God over all. May he be praised forever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
6 Nga tia fahk mu wuleang lun God tia akpwayeyuk; mweyen tia mwet Israel nukewa elos mwet sulosolla lun God.
But it is not as though the promises of God have failed. For it is not everyone in Israel who truly belongs to Israel.
7 Tia pac fwilin tulik nukewa natul Abraham pa tulik nutin God. Tuh God El fahk nu sel Abraham, “Isaac pa ac sot fwilin tulik nutum ma nga wuleot nu sum.”
Neither are all Abraham's descendants truly his children. But, “It is through Isaac that your descendants will be called.”
8 Kalmen ma se inge pa tulik ma isus ke ouiya lun mwet, elos tia pangpang tulik nutin God; a tulik ma isusla ke sripen wuleang lun God, elos inge pa fwilin tulik na pwaye natul.
That is, the children of the flesh are not the children of God. But the children of the promise are regarded as descendants.
9 Mweyen wuleang lun God tuh orekla ke kas inge: “Ke pacl fal nga fah foloko, ac Sarah el fah oswela sie wen.”
For this is the word of promise: “At this time I will come, and a son will be given to Sarah.”
10 Ac tia ma inge mukena. Tuh wen luo natul Rebecca eltal papa sefanna, su Isaac, papa matu tumasr.
Not only this, but after Rebekah also had conceived by one man, our father Isaac—
11 Meet liki eltal isusla ku oru kutena ma wo ku koluk, God El oru sulela lal sifacna ac akkalemye lah siena sin tulik luo ah pa ac akfalye sripa lal.
for the children were not yet born and had not yet done anything good or bad, so that the purpose of God according to choice might stand, not because of actions, but because of him who calls—
12 Ouinge El fahk nu sel Rebecca mu, “El su matu fah kulansupu el su fusr.” Na pa kalem lah sulela se inge orekla fal nu ke pang lun God, ac tia ke sripen kutena ma eltal oru.
it was said to her, “The older will serve the younger.”
13 Oana Ma Simusla uh fahk, “Nga tuh lungse Jacob, a nga tia lungse Esau.”
It is just as had been written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”
14 Na mea, kut ac fahk mu God El sesuwos? Mo, tiana ku.
What then will we say? Is there unrighteousness with God? May it never be.
15 Tuh El fahk nu sel Moses, “Nga fah kulang nu sin kutena su nga lungse kulang nu se; nga fah pakoten nu sin kutena su nga lungse pakomuta.”
For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”
16 Ke ma inge, ma nukewa orek fal nu ke kulang lun God, ac tia ke lungse ac orekma lun mwet.
So then, it is not because of him who wills, nor because of him who runs, but because of God, who shows mercy.
17 Tuh Ma Simusla fahk nu sin tokosra lun acn Egypt, “Nga orekom in tokosra tuh nga fah orekmakin kom in akkalemye ku luk, ac tuh pweng keik fah sulkakinyukelik fin faclu nufon.”
For the scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I raised you up, so that I might demonstrate my power in you, and so that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”
18 Ouinge, God El fin lungse kulang nu sin sie mwet, na El oru oana lungse lal, ac El fin lungse akupaye insien sie mwet, na El oru oapana.
So then, God has mercy on whom he wishes, and whom he wishes, he makes stubborn.
19 Sahp sie suwos ac siyuk sik, “Fin ouinge, na efu ku God Elan nununku mwet uh ke ma koluk lalos? Mea, oasr mwet ku in lain lungse lun God?”
You will say then to me, “Why does he still find fault? For who has ever withstood his will?”
20 Na su kom an, mwet kawuk luk, tuh kom in kaskas lain God? Sie ahlu orekla ke fohk kle tia ku in kusen siyuk nu sin mwet se ma oralla, “Efu ku kom oreyula in lumah se inge?”
On the contrary, man, who are you who answers against God? Will what has been molded say to the one who molds it, “Why did you make me this way?”
21 Tuh mwet se ma orala ahlu sac, oasr suwohs lal in orekmakin kle sac oana lemlem lal, ac in oru ahlu luo ke srukwal in kle sefanna — sie ma nu ke len lulap mukena, ac sie ma in orekmakinyuk len nukewa.
Does the potter not have the right over the clay to make from the same lump a container for special use, and another container for daily use?
22 In ouiya se pacna inge, God El tuh lungse akkalemye mulat lal, ac oru tuh ku lal in eteyuk. Tusruktu El arulana mongfisrasr in mutangalos su sripauk kasrkusrak lal, su El akola in kunauselosla.
What if God, who is willing to show his wrath and to make his power known, endured with much patience containers of wrath prepared for destruction?
23 Ac El oayapa lungse akkalemye kasrpen wolana lal, su El ase nu sesr su El pakomuta. Aok, El nuna akola meet tuh kut in eis wolana lal.
What if he did this in order that he might make known the riches of his glory upon containers of mercy, which he had previously prepared for glory?
24 Na kut pa mwet su El pangon uh, tia inmasrlon mwet Jew mukena a oayapa inmasrlon mwet sayen mwet Jew.
What if he did this also for us, whom he also called, not only from among the Jews, but also from among the Gentiles?
25 Pa inge ma El fahk in book lal Hosea: “Mwet su tia ma luk meet, Nga fah pangon ‘Mwet Luk.’ Mutanfahl ma nga tia lungse meet, Nga fah pangon ‘Mwet Kulo Luk.’
As he says also in Hosea: “I will call my people who were not my people, and her beloved who was not beloved.
26 Ac in acn se na ma fwackyang nu selos, ‘Kowos tia mwet luk,’ Elos ac fah pangpang wen nutin God moul.”
Then it will be that where it was said to them, 'You are not my people,' there they will be called 'sons of the living God.'”
27 Ac Isaiah el fahkak ke mwet Israel mu: “Pisen mwet Israel finne arulana pukanten oana puk weacn uh, tusruktu mwet pu na selos ac fah moulla;
Isaiah cries out concerning Israel, “Though the number of the children of Israel were as the sand of the sea, it will be a remnant that will be saved,
28 tuh Leum El fah sa in wotela nununku lal ke faclu nufon.”
for the Lord will carry out his sentence on the earth, completely and without delay.”
29 Ac oana ke Isaiah el tuh fahk meet, “Leum God Kulana El funu tia filiya kutu sin mwet ke fwilin tulik natusr in moul na, kut lukun kunausyukla oana acn Sodom, ku oana acn Gomorrah.”
As Isaiah had said previously, “If the Lord of hosts had not left us descendants, we would be like Sodom, and we would have become like Gomorrah.”
30 Na mea kut fah fahk? Mwet sayen mwet Jew, su tia srike elos in suwohs yurin God, aksuwosyeyuk elos ke sripen lulalfongi lalos;
What will we say then? That the Gentiles, who were not pursuing righteousness, obtained righteousness, the righteousness by faith.
31 a mwet sulosolla lun God, su tuh suk sie ma sap in aksuwosyalos yurin God, elos tiana konauk.
But Israel, who did pursue a law of righteousness, did not arrive at it.
32 Ac efu ku ouinge? Mweyen elos nunku mu elos ac moulla ke sripen orekma lalos, ac tia ke sripen lulalfongi. Ke ma inge elos ikori fin “eot in tukulkul”
Why not? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but by works. They stumbled over the stone of stumbling,
33 su Ma Simusla kaskaskin: “Liye, Nga likiya in Zion sie eot Su fah oru mwet in tukulkul, Sie eot su fah oru elos ikori. Tusruktu elos su lulalfongi in el fah tiana toasrla.”
as it has been written, “Look, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense. He who believes in it will not be ashamed.”
