< Psalm 8 >
1 [Psalm lal David] O LEUM GOD, kom Leum lasr; Fulat lom akilenyuk fin faclu nufon! Kaksakinyom sowak sun kusrao,
To the Chief Musician. On "the Gittith." A Melody of David. O Yahweh, our Lord! How majestic is thy Name, in all the earth, Who hast set thy splendour upon the heavens.
2 Onkakinyuk sin tulik srisrik ac tulik fusr. Kom oakiya sie pot ku in kosrala mwet lokoalok lom Tuh kom in tulokinya kutena mwet su lain kom.
Out of the mouth of children and sucklings, hast thou laid a foundation of strength, —because of thine adversaries, to make foe and avenger be still.
3 Ke nga ngetak ac liye kusrao su kom orala, Malem ac itu, su kom oakiya in acn selos,
When I view thy heavens, the work, of thy fingers, moon and stars, which thou hast established,
4 Mea mwet, tuh kom in nunku kacl; Ac mea se mwet uh, tuh kom in saokkin?
What was weak man, that thou shouldst make mention of him? or the son of the earthborn, that thou shouldst set him in charge?
5 Nwe ouinge, kom oru tuh elos in pusisel kutu srisrik liki kom, Ac sonelosi ke wolana ac sunak.
That thou shouldst make him little less than messengers of God, with glory and honour, shouldst crown him?
6 Kom oru tuh elos in leum fin orekma nukewa lun poum; Ac filiya ma nukewa ye nialos:
Shouldst give him dominion over the works of thy hands, —All things, shouldst have put under his feet:
7 Sheep ac cow, oayapa kosro nukewa inimae,
Sheep and oxen, all of them, —yea even the beasts of the field;
8 Won yen engyeng uh, ac ik in meoa, Ac ma moul nukewa inkof uh.
The bird of the heavens, and the fishes of the sea, — the passer-by on the paths of the seas?
9 O LEUM GOD, kom Leum lasr, Fulat lom akilenyuk fin faclu nufon!
O Yahweh, our Lord! How majestic is thy Name, in all the earth.
