< Psalm 55 >

1 [Psalm lal David] Lohng pre luk, O God; Nikmet forla liki mwe siyuk luk!
God, listen to my prayer, and do not turn away from me while I am pleading with you.
2 Porongeyu ac topukyu, Tuh nga arulana totola ke fosrnga luk.
Listen to me, and answer me, because I am overwhelmed by [all] my troubles.
3 Nga arulana sangeng ke kas in aksangeng lun mwet lokoalok luk; Nga keok ke mwet koluk uh akfosrngayeyu. Elos use mwe ongoiya nu fuk; Elos srungayu ac kasrkusrak sik.
My enemies cause me to be terrified; wicked people oppress me. They cause me to have great troubles; they are angry with me, and they hate me.
4 Nga arulana sangeng, Ac mwe fosrnga lun misa toanyuwi.
I am terrified, and I am very much afraid that I will die.
5 Nga arulana sangeng ac rarrar; Nga tuninfong na pwaye.
I am very fearful and I tremble/shake, and I am completely terrified.
6 Nga ke tuh in oasr posohksok keik oana wule. Nga lukun sohkla ac suk nien mongla.
I said, “I wish that I had wings like a dove! If I had wings, I would fly away and find a place to rest.
7 Nga lukun sohkla nu yen loesla Ac oru nien muta luk yen mwesis.
I would fly far away and live in the desert.
8 Nga lukun sulaklak ac konauk nien wikla luk Liki eng upa ac paka.
I would quickly find a shelter from [my enemies] [who are like] [MET] a strong wind and rainstorm.”
9 O Leum, akfohsyauk sramsram lun mwet lokoalok luk! Nga liye mwet uh oru ma sulallal ac alein yohk in siti uh —
Lord, confuse my enemies, and cause their plans to fail, because I see them acting violently and causing strife in the city [of Jerusalem].
10 Raunela ke len ac fong. Ma koluk lulap ac mwe lokoalok oasr yen nukewa in siti sac.
During [each] day and night they march around on top of its walls, committing crimes and causing trouble.
11 Oasr ma musalla in acn nukewa; Inkanek uh sessesla ke mwe akkeok ac ma kikiap.
They destroy [things] everywhere. They oppress and defraud [people] in the (marketplaces/public squares).
12 Fin mwet lokoalok se luk pa aksruksrukyeyu, Nga ac ku in muteng; Fin mwet lainyu se pa tungak nu sik uh, Nga ac ku in wikla lukel.
If it were an enemy who was making fun of me, I could endure it. If it were someone who hates me, who despises me, I could hide from him.
13 Tuh pa kom pa oru — mwet na wiuk se, Mwet na nga etu se, ac kawuk na wowo luk.
But it is someone who is just like me, my companion, someone who was my friend [who is doing this to me].
14 Kut arulana sukosok in sramsram nu sin sie sin sie Ac kut tukeni alu in Tempul.
We previously had many good talks together; we walked around together in God’s temple.
15 Finsrak tuh mwet lokoalok luk in misa meet liki pacl fal lalos; Finsrak elos in moulna som nu infulan misa! Tuh ma koluk oasr in lohm selos ac insialos. (Sheol h7585)
I desire/hope that my enemies will die suddenly; while they are still young, cause them to go down to the place where the dead people are. They they think evil things. (Sheol h7585)
16 A funu nga, nga pang nu sin LEUM GOD in suk kasru, Ac El ac fah moliyula.
But I [will] ask Yahweh, [my] God, to help me, and he will save me.
17 Ke lotutang, infulwen len, ac eku Pusren torkaskas ac sasao luk sowak nu yorol Ac El ac lohng pusrek.
[Each] morning and [each] noontime and [each] evening I tell him what I am concerned about, and I moan, and he hears my voice.
18 El ac fah moliyula ac folokinyume Liki mweun su nga oasr kac Ke nga lain mwet lokoalok puspis luk.
I have [very] many enemies, but he will rescue me and bring me back safely from the battles that I fight.
19 God, su nuna leum ke mutawauk me, El ac fah lohngyu ac kutangla mwet lokoalok luk, Mweyen elos srangesr ekulla ouiyen moul lalos, Ac elos tia sangeng sel.
God is the one who has ruled everything forever, and he will listen to me. He will cause my enemies to be [defeated and] disgraced, because they do not change their evil behavior and they do not revere God.
20 Mwet se ma kasreyu meet, el forla lain mwet kawuk lal; Ac el kunausla wulela lal.
My companion, [whom I mentioned previously], betrayed his friends and broke the agreement that he made with them.
21 Meet, sramsram lal fwel oana kiris, Tusruktu yohk srunga insial; Kas lal musresre oana kaki in akmusra, Tusruktu fakfuk oana cutlass.
What he said was [easy to listen to, like] butter [is easy to swallow] [MET], but in his inner being he hated people; his words were [soothing] like [olive] oil, [but they hurt people like] sharp swords do [MET].
22 Filiya mwe fosrnga lom yurin LEUM GOD, Ac El ac fah loangekom; Tuh El tiana lela mwet suwoswos in kutangyukla.
Put your troubles in Yahweh’s hands, and he will take care of you; he will never allow righteous [people] to experience disasters.
23 A kom, O God, fah use mwet akmas ac mwet kikiap nu inkulyuk lalos Meet liki na elos sun infulwen moul lalos. A funu nga, nga ac lulalfongi kom na.
God, you will cause murderers [MTY] and liars to die before they have lived half as long as they expect to live; but [as for me], I will trust in you.
