< Psalm 39 >
1 [Psalm lal David] Nga fahk, “Nga fah karinganang ma nga oru Ac tia lela tuh louk in aktafongyeyula; Nga fah tia fahk kutena ma Ke pacl mwet koluk elos muta apkuran.”
For the chief musician, for Jeduthun. A psalm of David. I decided, “I will watch what I say so that I do not sin with my tongue. I will muzzle my mouth while in the presence of an evil man.”
2 Nga mislana, ac tia fahk kutena kas, Finne ke ma wo, nga tia pac kaskas. Tusruktu keok luk yokyokelik,
I kept silent; I kept back my words even from saying anything good, and my pain grew worse.
3 Ac fosrnga uh kutangyula. Ke nga srike in nunku ma inge, na upala fohs luk, Pwanang nga tia ku in misla in siyuk,
My heart became hot; when I thought about these things, it burned like a fire. Then finally I spoke.
4 “LEUM GOD, nga ac moul putaka? Nga ac misa ngac? Fahk nu sik lah moul luk uh ac safla ngac.”
“Yahweh, make me know when will be the end of my life and the extent of my days. Show me how transient I am.
5 Kom orala moul luk arulana fototo! Lusen moul luk ye motom oana ma wangin. Pwayena lah lusen moul lun mwet se oana momong na fototo se.
See, you have made my days only the width of my hand, and my lifetime is like nothing before you. Surely every man is a single breath. (Selah)
6 El sarla oana lul se. Ma nukewa el oru wangin sripa; El akpusye mwe kasrup lal, ac tia etu lah su ac mau eis.
Surely every man walks about like a shadow. Surely everyone hurries about to accumulate riches although they do not know who will receive them.
7 O Leum, mea nga ku in finsrak nu kac? Nga filiya finsrak luk in kom.
Now, Lord, for what am I waiting? You are my only hope.
8 Moliyula liki ma koluk luk nukewa, Ac nikmet lela tuh mwet lalfon in aksruksrukyeyu.
Rescue me from my sins; do not make me the reproach of fools.
9 Nga ac mutana misla; nga ac fah tiana fahk sie kas, Mweyen kom pa oru nga keok ouinge uh.
I am silent and cannot open my mouth, because it is you who has done it.
10 Nikmet sifil akkeokyeyu, Tuh nga apkuran in misa ke sringsring lom!
Stop wounding me; I am overwhelmed by the blow of your hand.
11 Kom sang kas in kai nu sin sie mwet ke sripen ma koluk lal, Na, oana sie watil, kom kunausla ma el lungse yohk. Aok, moul lun mwet uh oana momong na fototo se.
When you discipline people for sin, you consume the things they desire like a moth; surely all people are nothing but vapor. (Selah)
12 O LEUM GOD, lohng pre luk, Porongo tung luk; Ase kasru lom nu sik ke pacl nga tung. Nga oana sie mwetsac su mutwata yurum ke kitin pacl na, Oana mwet matu nukewa luk somla ah.
Hear my prayer, Yahweh, and listen to me; listen to my weeping! Do not be deaf to me, for I am like a foreigner with you, a refugee like all my ancestors were.
13 Fahla likiyu, nga in mau ku in engan kutu srisrik Meet liki nga som ac wanginla.
Turn your gaze from me so that I may smile again before I die.”
