< Psalm 37 >

1 [Psalm lal David] Nikmet elya ke ma mwet koluk elos oru; Ac nik kom sok selos su oru ma sufal.
Of David. Be not kindled to wrath at the wicked, nor envious of those who work wrong;
2 Tuh elos ac fah sa in wanginla oana mah, Ac uli oana mahsrik.
for, like grass, they will speedily wither, and fade like the green of young grass.
3 Lulalfongi in LEUM GOD ac oru ma wo; Tuh kom fah ku in moul ac misla fin facl se inge.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; remain in the land, and deal faithfully:
4 Suk engan lom in LEUM GOD, Ac El ac fah asot ma lungse lun insiom.
then the Lord will be your delight, he will grant you your heart’s petitions.
5 Eiskomyang sifacna nu sin LEUM GOD; Lulalfongel, ac El ac fah kasrekom.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act,
6 El ac fah oru suwoswos lom in arulana kalem, Oana kalmen faht ke infulwen len.
making clear as the light your right, and your just cause clear as the noon-day.
7 Kom in mongfisrasr ac tupan ma LEUM GOD El fah oru; Nikmet elya kaclos su kapkapak, Ku elos su eis woiyen pwapa kutasrik lalos.
In silence and patience wait on the Lord. Be not kindled to anger at those who prosper. At those who execute evil devices.
8 Nik kom eiskomyang in fosrnga ku kasrkusrak; Ma inge mwe kolla nu ke ongoiya.
Desist from anger, abandon wrath: be not kindled to anger it leads but to evil:
9 Elos su lulalfongi LEUM GOD fah usrui acn uh, A mwet koluk fah lisyukla.
for evildoers will be cut off, but the land will be theirs, who wait on the Lord.
10 Ac tia paht mwet koluk fah wanginla; Kom finne sokolos, kom ac tia konalosyak.
Yet but a little, and the wicked vanish: look at their place: they are there no more.
11 A mwet fakpap ac fah usrui acn uh, Ac elos fah engankin mwe insewowo ac misla.
But the humble will have the land, and the rapture of peace in abundance.
12 Mwet koluk elos pwapa in lain mwet wo; Elos suelosi ke kasrkusrak.
The wicked plots against the righteous, snarls like a wild animal;
13 Tusruktu Leum El isrun mwet koluk, Mweyen El etu lah elos ac fah sa in kunausyukla.
the Lord laughs, for he sees that his day is coming.
14 Mwet koluk elos faisak cutlass natulos ac akola pisr natulos In uniya mwet sukasrup ac mwet enenu, In onelosi su oru ma suwohs;
The wicked have drawn the sword, and bent the bow, to fell the poor, to slay those who walk uprightly;
15 Tusruktu elos ac fah anwuki ke cutlass natulos sifacna, Ac pisr natulos fah kotkot uh.
but their sword will pierce their own heart, and their bows will be broken in pieces.
16 Finne pu ma su oan yurin sie mwet wo, A yohk sripa liki na mwe kasrup puspis su oan yurin mwet koluk nukewa,
Better is the righteous person’s little than the wealth of many wicked.
17 Mweyen LEUM GOD El ac fah eisla ku lun mwet koluk, Ac karinganulos su wo.
For the arms of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous.
18 LEUM GOD El karinganulos su aksol, Ac acn uh fah ma lalos nwe tok.
The Lord watches over the days of the blameless, their heritage will continue forever.
19 Elos ac fah tia keok in pacl koluk; Elos ac fah kihp in pacl sracl.
They will not be shamed in the evil time, in the days of famine they will be satisfied.
20 A mwet koluk elos ac fah misa; Mwet lokoalok lun LEUM GOD elos ac fah wanginla oana ros inimae; Elos fah wanginla oana kulasr.
Because the wicked will perish: but the foes of the Lord, like a brand in the oven, will vanish, like smoke they will vanish.
21 Mwet koluk elos ngusr ac tia folokin, A mwet wo elos sang ke kulang.
The wicked must borrow and cannot pay back, but the righteous is lavish and gives.
22 Elos su akinsewowoyeyuk sin LEUM GOD fah usrui acn uh, A elos su selngawiyuk sel fah lisyukla.
For those blest by the Lord inherit the land, while those whom he curses will be cut off.
23 LEUM GOD El kol mwet uh ke inkanek fal elos in fahsr kac, Ac El karinganulos su akinsewowoyal.
The Lord supports the steps of those with whom he is pleased.
24 Elos fin ikori, elos ac fah tia mutana ten, Mweyen LEUM GOD El ac tulokunulosyak.
Though they fall, they will not be cast headlong, for the Lord holds their hands.
25 Nga matuoh inge; nga moul paht na, Tusruktu nga soenna liye sie mwet wo in pilesreyuk sin LEUM GOD, Ku tulik natul in ngusr mwe mongo.
Never, from youth to age, have I seen the righteous forsaken, or their children begging bread.
26 In pacl nukewa el insewowo in sang mwe kite nu sin mwet, ac tia tupan in eis molo, Ac tulik natul elos mwe insewowo.
They are ever lavishly lending, and their children are fountains of blessing.
27 Forla liki ma koluk ac oru ma wo, Na fwil nutum elos ac fah mutana fin facl se inge;
Turn away from evil and do good and you will live in the land forever.
28 Tuh LEUM GOD El lungse ma suwohs, Ac El tia pilesralos su oaru nu sel. El karinganulos nwe tok, A fwil nutin mwet koluk fah lisyukla.
For the Lord loves justice, he does not forsake his friends. The unrighteous will be destroyed forever, and the seed of the wicked will be cut off.
29 Mwet suwoswos fah usrui acn uh, Ac elos ac fah muta fac ma pahtpat.
But the land will belong to the righteous, they will live upon it forever,
30 Kas lun sie mwet wo, kas lalmwetmet, Ac ma el oru uh suwohs pacl nukewa.
The mouth of the righteous murmurs wisdom, and words of justice are on their tongues.
31 El sruokya ma sap lun God lal ke insial Ac tiana fahsr liki.
The law of their God is in their heart, their steps are never unsteady.
32 Sie mwet koluk el tawi mwet wo Ac suk in unilya.
The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to put them to death.
33 Tusruktu LEUM GOD El ac tia eisalang nu ye ku lun mwet lokoalok lal, Ac El ac tia lela in itukyang mwatal ke pacl in nununku nu sel.
But the Lord leaves them not in their hand: at their trial they will not be held guilty.
34 Filiya finsrak lom in LEUM GOD ac akos ma sap lal; El ac fah akfulatye kom ke El asot sie facl tuh in mwe usru lom, Ac kom ac fah liye ke mwet koluk elos lisyukyak.
Wait on the Lord, and observe his way: he will lift you to honour the land will be yours, you will feast your eyes on the doom of the wicked.
35 Sie pacl ah nga liye sie mwet koluk su arulana sulallal; El fulat liki mwet nukewa, oana soko sak cedar in acn Lebanon,
I have seen the wicked exultant, lifting themselves like a cedar of Lebanon.
36 Tusruktu tok ke nga fahsryak we el wangin; Nga sokol a nga tia ku in konalak.
But the moment I passed, they vanished! I sought for them, but they could not be found.
37 Liye mwet wo, ac tuni mwet suwoswos; Oasr fwilin tulik nutin mwet su moul in misla,
Preserve your honour and practise uprightness, for such a person fares well in the end.
38 A mwet koluk elos kunausyukla, Ac fwilin tulik natulos sikiyukla.
But transgressors will perish together. Cut off are the wicked forever.
39 LEUM GOD El molela mwet suwoswos Ac El karinganulos in pacl in ongoiya.
The righteous are saved by the Lord, who in time of distress is their refuge:
40 El kasrelos ac molelosla; El loangelos liki poun mwet koluk Mweyen elos sokol in wikla yorol.
the Lord helps and rescue them, from the wicked he rescues and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
