Psalm 124

1 [Psalm lal David] LEUM GOD El funu tia wi kut la, lukun fuka? O Israel, kowos in topuk!

“A song of the degrees by David.” If it had not been the Lord who was for us, so should Israel say;

2 “LEUM GOD El funu tia wi kut le, Ke mwet lokoalok elos mweun lain kut

If it had not been the Lord who was for us, when men rose up against us:

3 Kut lukun moul na elos ukumkutla Ke sripen kasrkusrak lulap lalos sesr;

Then would they have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us;

4 Na sronot u pokkutla, Kof u afwinkutla,

Then would the waters have overwhelmed us, the stream would have passed over our soul;

5 A kof pulkulak akwalomyekutla.”

Then would have passed over our soul the presumptuous waters.

6 Lela kut in sang kulo nu sin LEUM GOD, Su tia filikutyang nu in poun mwet lokoalok lasr.

Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us up as a prey to their teeth.

7 Kut tu kaingla oana sie won su kaingla liki sruf lun mwet sru won; Sruf u musalla a kut sukosokla!

Our soul is escaped like a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

8 Kasru lasr tuku sin LEUM GOD, Su orala kusrao ac faclu.

Our help is in the name of the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.
