1 Lohng! Lalmwetmet el wowoyak. Etauk el oru pusracl in lohngyuk.
Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
2 El tu fin tohktok uh sisken inkanek, Ac yen inkanek uh osun we.
She standeth on the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
3 Ke nien utyak nu in siti uh Sisken mutunoa el pang ac fahk:
She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entrance of the doors.
4 “Nga kwafe suwos nukewa; Nga pang nu sin mwet nukewa faclu.
To you, O men, I call; and my voice [is] to the sons of man.
5 Kowos su srakna elahn tulik, oru kowos in elahn mwet matu. Ya kowos lalfon? Lutlut in oasr etauk lowos.
O ye simple, understand wisdom: and ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
6 Lohng kas wolana luk. Ma nukewa nga fahk uh suwohs.
Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips [shall be] right things.
7 Kas nukewa luk pwayena; Kas kikiap uh mwe srungayuk sik.
For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness [is] an abomination to my lips.
8 Ma nukewa nga fahk uh pwaye, Wangin kutena ma sesuwos ku mwe kiapu mwet.
All the words of my mouth [are] in righteousness; [there is] nothing froward or perverse in them.
9 Nu sin mwet liyaten uh, ma inge nukewa kalem, Ac nu selos su oasr etauk la, fisrasr elos in kalem kac.
They [are] all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
10 Sulela kas in luti luk liki na silver; Sulela etauk liki na in eis gold nasnas.
Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
11 “Nga pa Lalmwetmet. Nga wo liki mwe naweyuk uh; Wangin ma kom lungse ac ku in lumweyuk nu sik.
For wisdom [is] better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
12 Nga Lalmwetmet ac liyaten; Oasr etauk ac nunak suwohs in nga.
I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of ingenious inventions.
13 Elos nukewa su akfulatye LEUM GOD elos kwase ma koluk. Nga srunga inse fulat ac filang, Oayapa inkanek koluk ac kas kikiap.
The fear of the LORD [is] to hate evil: pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
14 Nga orek pwapa, ac nga akfahsrye. Oasr ku ac etauk yuruk.
Counsel [is] mine, and sound wisdom: I [am] understanding; I have strength.
15 Nga kasru tokosra uh in leumi mwet uh, Ac nga kasru mwet kol in oru ma sap suwohs.
By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
16 Mwet kol nukewa faclu leumi mwet uh ke kasru luk — Fisrak ac mwet leum fin faclu oana sie.
By me princes rule, and nobles, [even] all the judges of the earth.
17 Nga lungse elos nukewa su lungse nga; Kutena mwet su sukyu, ku in koneyuyak.
I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
18 Oasr mwe kasrup ac sunak, Wo ouiya ac kapkapak yuruk in kitala.
Riches and honor [are] with me; durable riches and righteousness.
19 Ma kom ac eis sik uh saok liki gold ma wo emeet, Ac wo liki pac silver ma arulana nasnas.
My fruit [is] better than gold, yes, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
20 Nga fufahsryesr ke inkanek suwoswos; Nga fahsr tukun inkanek lun nununku suwohs.
I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment.
21 Nga sang mwe kasrup nu selos su lungse nga, Ac nwakla lohm selos ke ma saok.
That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
22 “LEUM GOD El oreyula meet liki ma nukewa, Orekma se emeet lal in pacl loeloes somla.
The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
23 Orekla nga ke mutaweyen ma nukewa, Meet liki na orekla faclu.
I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
24 Nga isusla meet liki oasr meoa, Pacl ma soenna oasr unon in kof.
When [there were] no depths, I was brought forth; when [there were] no fountains abounding with water.
25 Nga isusla meet liki oasr fineol uh, Meet liki tohktok uh oakiyuki,
Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth.
26 Meet liki na ke God El orala faclu, ku inima we — Soenna oasr kutkut srisrik lun infohk uh.
While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
27 Nga oasr we ke El oakiya ma oan inkusrao, Ac ke El asroelik pekusra uh fin meoa,
When he prepared the heavens, I [was] there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
28 Ke pacl se el filiya pukunyeng yen engyengu, Ke El ikasla unon in kof in meoa,
When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
29 Ac ke El sapkin tuh kof in meoa uh in tia alukela srikasrak ma El oakiya. Nga muta we ke El oakiya pwelung loangeyen faclu.
When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
30 Nga muta siskal oana sie mwet lemlem nu ke musa. Len nukewa nga mwe engan nu sel, Ac nga engan ye mutal pacl nukewa —
Then I was by him, [as] one brought up [with him]: and I was daily [his] delight, rejoicing always before him;
31 Nga engan ke faclu, Ac ke mwet su muta fin faclu.
Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights [were] with the sons of men.
32 “Ke ma inge, tulik nutik, lohngyu inge. Oru oana ke nga fahk, ac kowos ac fah insewowo.
Now therefore hearken to me, O ye children: for blessed [are they that] keep my ways.
33 Lohng ma lutiyuk kowos kac, Aklalmwetmetye kowos, ac tia pilesru.
Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
34 Insewowo mwet se su muta ke mutunoa sik len nukewa, Ac soano in lohngyu ke nien utyak nu inkul sik.
Blessed [is] the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
35 Mwet se su koneyuyak el konauk moul, Ac LEUM GOD El ac fah insewowo sel.
For whoever findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favor from the LORD.
36 Mwet se su tia koneyuyak el sifacna kunausulla; Kutena mwet su srungayu, lungse misa.”
But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
