< Soakas 30 >

1 Pa inge kas in palu lal Agur, wen natul Jakeh. El fahk, “God El tia wiyu, God El tia wiyu, Nga munas ac wangin ku luk.
The words of Agur the son of Jakeh; the burden. The man saith unto Ithiel, unto Ithiel and Ucal:
2 Nga lalfon oana soko kosro, Ac wangin etauk lun mwet in nga.
Surely I am brutish, unlike a man, and have not the understanding of a man;
3 Nga soenna lutlut ke lalmwetmet, Ac wanginna etu luk ke God.
And I have not learned wisdom, that I should have the knowledge of the Holy One.
4 Su nu sowak nu inkusrao ac sifilpa oatui? Su nu sruokani eng uh inpaol? Ku nokomla kof uh in sie ipin nuknuk? Ku oakiya masrol lun faclu?
Who hath ascended up into heaven, and descended? Who hath gathered the wind in his fists? Who hath bound the waters in his garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou knowest?
5 “God El akpwayei wuleang nukewa lal. El oana sie mwe loeyuk nu selos nukewa su suk in moulla yorol.
Every word of God is tried; He is a shield unto them that take refuge in Him.
6 Kom fin laesla kas lal ke kutena kas ma El tia fahk, El ac fah kai kom, ac akkalemye lah kom sie mwet kikiap.”
Add thou not unto His words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
7 O God, nga siyuk sum, ase nu sik ma luo inge meet liki nga misa:
Two things have I asked of Thee; deny me them not before I die:
8 kasreyu ngan tia kikiap, ac oru tuh ngan tia arulana kasrup ku tia pac arulana sukasrup. Ke ma inge ase nu sik lupan mwe mongo ma ac fal nu ke enenu luk.
Remove far from me falsehood and lies; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with mine allotted bread;
9 Fin yokla ma oan yuruk, sahp nga ac fahk mu nga tia enenekom. A nga fin arulana sukasrup, sahp nga ac ku in pisrapasr ac akkolukye Inen God luk.
Lest I be full, and deny, and say: 'Who is the LORD?' Or lest I be poor, and steal, and profane the name of my God.
Sahp el ac selngawi kom ac kom ac eis mwata kac.
Slander not a servant unto his master, lest he curse thee, and thou be found guilty.
11 Oasr mwet su selngawi papa tumalos, ac tia akkalemye srui lalos ke nina kialos.
There is a generation that curse their father, and do not bless their mother.
12 Oasr mwet nunku mu nasnas na moul lalos, a pwayeiya uh yohk fohkfok lalos.
There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet are not washed from their filthiness.
13 Oasr mwet nunku mu elos arulana wo — oru elos arulana inse fulat!
There is a generation, Oh how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
14 Oasr mwet su eis kasrpalos ke elos aklalfonye ac pisre ma lun mwet sukasrup ac mwet kwaco.
There is a generation whose teeth are as swords, and their great teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.
The horseleech hath two daughters: 'Give, give.' There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four that say not: 'Enough':
16 facl sin mwet misa, sie mutan talap, sie acn pao ma enenu af, ac sie e firir ma tia ku in kuniyukla. (Sheol h7585)
The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not satisfied with water; and the fire that saith not: 'Enough.' (Sheol h7585)
The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young vultures shall eat it.
18 Oasr ma akosr ma nga tiana ku in kalem kac:
There are three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not:
19 ouiyen sohksok lun sie eagle yen engyeng uh, ouiyen orakrak lun soko wet fin sie eot, ouiyen soko oak ma konauk inkanek la fin meoa, ac ouiyen sie mukul ac mutan se el lungse.
The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a young woman.
So is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith: 'I have done no wickedness.'
21 Oasr ma akosr faclu tia ku in mutangla:
For three things the earth doth quake, and for four it cannot endure:
22 Sie mwet kohs su sun wal lun tokosra, sie mwet lalfon su arulana kihp,
For a servant when he reigneth; and a churl when he is filled with food;
For an odious woman when she is married; and a handmaid that is heir to her mistress.
24 Oasr ma akosr fin faclu su srik ac arulana lalmwetmet:
There are four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise:
25 Mak — elos ne munas a elos elosak mongo nalos ke pacl fol;
The ants are a people not strong, yet they provide their food in the summer;
26 Kosro badger — elos tia pac ku, tuh elos orala nien muta lalos inmasrlon eot uh.
The rock-badgers are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the crags;
27 Locust — wangin tokosra lalos, tuh elos ueni sohk.
The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;
28 Kinoul — kom ku in sruokya soko inpoum, ac kom ku pac in konauk ke inkul fulat sin tokosra.
The spider thou canst take with the hands, yet is she in kings' palaces.
There are three things which are stately in their march, yea, four which are stately in going:
30 lion — kosro soko ma ku emeet ac wangin sangeng lal sin kutena kosro;
The lion, which is mightiest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;
31 nani, won mukul, ac tokosra uh ke elos tu ye mutun mwet lalos.
The greyhound; the he-goat also; and the king, against whom there is no rising up.
32 Kom fin lalfon ac sifacna akfulatye kom in oru pwapa koluk, tui ac nunkala akwoya!
If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast planned devices, lay thy hand upon thy mouth.
33 Kom fin arukak milk, na ac ekla butter. Kom fin fiskiya infwen sie mwet, ac srahsra. Kom fin akkasrkusrakyauk mwet, kom ac ongoiya.
For the churning of milk bringeth forth curd, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood; so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.
