My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

For length of days, and years of life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Nimet lela kulang ac inse pwaye in wanginla liki kom. Kapriya inkwawom, ac simusla insiom.
Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart, and lean not upon thine own understanding:

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Nimet sifacna nunku mu kom arulana fas in lalmwetmet lom; akos LEUM GOD ac fahsr liki ma koluk.
Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear the LORD, and depart from evil:
8 Kom fin oru ouinge, ac fah akkeye monum, ac sot ku nu sum.
It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
9 Akfulatye LEUM GOD ke mwe sang lom nu sel ke mwe kasrup lom, ac ke fahko se meet ke ima lom.
Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 Kom fin oru ouinge, nien filma lom ac fah nwanala ke wheat, ac nien wain lom ac fah kahkkakla ke wain.
So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy vats shall overflow with new wine.
11 Tulik nutik, nimet pilesru kas in kai lun LEUM GOD nu sum, a lohang nu kac ac eis mu mwe sensenkakin kom.
My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his reproof:
12 LEUM GOD El kaelos su El lungse, oana ke sie papa kai tulik su el insewowo kac.
For whom the LORD loveth he reproveth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
13 Insewowo mwet se su konauk lalmwetmet, ac su sun etauk.
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
14 Ma laesla kac yohk liki ma laesla ke silver, ac yohk sripa nu sum liki gold.
For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
15 Lalmwetmet el saok liki wek saok. Wangin kutena ma kom lungse ku in lumweyuk nu kac.
She is more precious than rubies: and none of the things thou canst desire are to be compared unto her.
16 Lalmwetmet uh ac akloesye moul lom, akkasrupye kom, ac oru in sunakinyuk kom.
Length of days is in her right had; in her left hand are riches and honour.
17 Inkanek lun lalmwetmet uh ac mwe engan nu sum, ac kol kom nu ke moul in misla.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 Lalmwetmet uh oana sak in moul nu selos su eisal, ac mwe insewowo nu selos su akfulatyal.
She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
19 LEUM GOD El orala faclu ke lalmwetmet lal, Ke etu lal El oakiya ma oan inkusrao.
The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens.
20 Lalmwetmet lal uh oru kof ye faclu in unonak, Ac pukunyeng uh in kahkunma af nu fin faclu.
By his knowledge the depths were broken up, and the skies drop down the dew.
21 Tulik nutik, sruokya ku liyaten, ac lohang in wo nu ke ma kom oru.
My son, let not them depart from thine eyes; keep sound wisdom and discretion;
22 Ma inge ac sot moul wo ac insewowo nu sum.
So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
23 Kom ac fah fahsr ke inkanek in misla, ac tiana tukulkul.
Then shalt thou walk in thy way securely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
24 Kom ac fah tia sangeng ke kom motul, ac kom ac fah motul folosowosla ke fong uh.
When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
25 Kom ac tia sensen ke mwe fosrnga su ac sa sikyak, oana paka ma sun mwet koluk uh.
Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh:
26 LEUM GOD El ac karingin kom. El ac fah tia lela niom in sremla.
For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
27 In pacl nukewa ma kom ku, kom in kasrelos su fal in eis kasru, ac tia sruokya ma wo lukelos.
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
28 Nimet fahk nu sin mwet tulan lom in soano nu ke len tok ah, kom fin ku in kasrel ingena.
Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and tomorrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
29 Nimet akoo kutena ma ac tuh akkolukye mwet tulan lom; el muta siskom ac lulalfongi kom.
Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
30 Nimet akukuin nu sin sie mwet ke wangin sripa, fin wangin ma el oru in akkolukye kom.
Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.
31 Nimet mwel ma lun mwet sulallal, ku nunkauk in oru oana elos oru,
Envy thou not the man of violence, and choose none of his ways.
32 mweyen LEUM GOD El srunga mwet orekma koluk, a El insraelak nu sin mwet suwoswos.
For the perverse is an abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the upright.
33 Mwe selnga lun LEUM GOD oan fin lohm sin mwet koluk, a mwe insewowo lal oan fin lohm sin mwet suwoswos.
The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked; but he blesseth the habitation of the righteous.
34 El tiana lohang nu sin mwet inse fulat, a El kulang nu sin mwet pusisel.
Surely he scorneth the scorners, but he giveth grace unto the lowly.
35 Mwet lalmwetmet uh ac akfulatyeyuk, a mwet lalfon uh ac yokelik mwekin lalos.
The wise shall inherit glory; but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
