1 Sruhila ke mwe nim ku ac oru kom in wowon ac orekma lalfon. Sruhi uh orala sie mwet in lalfonla.
Wine [is] a mocker, strong drink [is] raging: and whoever is deceived by it is not wise.
2 Kom in sangeng ke kasrkusrak lun sie tokosra oana ke kom sangeng ke ngutngut lun soko lion. Kom fin akkasrkusrakye sie tokosra, kom sifacna eiskomyang nu ke misa.
The fear of a king [is] as the roaring of a lion: [whoever] provoketh him to anger sinneth [against] his own soul.
3 Mwet lalfon uh pa sripauk akukuin uh. Ac fah kaksakinyuk elos su tia wi akukuin.
[It is] an honor for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
4 Sie mwet ima su alsrangesr in plao in pacl fal la, fah tia kosrani fahko.
The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; [therefore] shall he beg in harvest, and [have] nothing.
5 Nunak ma oan insien sie mwet, oana kof in sie luf loal; a mwet oasr etauk yoro ku in aketeya in kalem.
Counsel in the heart of man [is like] deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
6 Pus na mwet fahk pwaye ac oaru la, tusruktu su selos ku in akpwayeye?
Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?
7 Insewowo tulik su papa tumalos oru ma pwaye ac suwohs.
The just [man] walketh in his integrity: his children [are] blessed after him.
8 Sie tokosra su muta ke nien nununku, el ac ku in akilen ma koluk ke el liye.
A king that sitteth on the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.
9 Ya oasr sie mwet ku in fahk na pwaye lah nasnas insial ac wanginla ma koluk lal?
Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
10 LEUM GOD El srunga mwe paun kikiap ac mwe srikasrak sesuwos.
Divers weights, [and] divers measures, both of them [are] alike abomination to the LORD.
11 Finne tulik srisrik se, ac kalem ouiyal ke ma el oru; kom ku in akilen lah el suwohs ac wo.
Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work [is] pure, and whether [it is] right.
12 LEUM GOD El ase mutasr tuh kut in liye, ac sracsr tuh kut in lohng.
The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.
13 Kom fin sisla pacl lom in motul, kom ac sukasrup. Oru kom in kafofo, na ac fah oasr sunun mwe mongo nom.
Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thy eyes, [and] thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
14 Mwet moul ke iwen kuka uh torkaskas pacl nukewa mu yokla molin mwe kuka uh, a ke el som el konkin mu srik molin ma el moli uh.
[It is] naught, [it is] naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone, then he boasteth.
15 Kas lalmwetmet uh yohk sripa liki gold ac mwe yun saok.
There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge [are] a precious jewel.
16 Sie mwet su wulela in fosrngakin soemoul lun sie mwetsac el lalfon, na fal elan sang nuknuk lal sifacna in mwe akpwaye nu ke soemoul el wuleang kac.
Take his garment that is surety [for] a stranger: and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
17 Ma kom eisla ke inkanek sesuwos ac ku in mwe engan nu sum oana sie mwe mongo na yuyu, tuh ac tia paht toko na ac oana sie oalu sessesla ke fikar.
Bread of deceit [is] sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.
18 Suk kas in kasru wo, na ma kom oru ac fah fahla wo. Nimet sroang nu ke mweun fin soenna oasr pwapa.
[Every] purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
19 Sie mwet lesrik tia ku in okanla ma lukma. Nimet fototo nu yurin mwet oalinkas.
He that goeth about [as] a tale-bearer revealeth secrets; therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.
20 Kom fin selngawi papa tomom ku nina kiom, moul lom ac fah oana sie lam kunla in lohsr uh.
Whoever curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.
21 Fin fisrasr eisyen mwe kasrup lom an, ac fah srik woiya nu sum.
An inheritance [may be] gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end of it shall not be blessed.
22 Nimet sifacna foloksak ke ma koluk. Tupan ac lulalfongi in LEUM GOD, ac El fah aksuwosyela.
Say not thou, I will recompense evil; [but] wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.
23 LEUM GOD El tia lungse mwe paun ac mwe srikasrak sesuwos.
Divers weights [are] an abomination to the LORD; and a false balance [is] not good.
24 LEUM GOD El oakiya tari inkanek lasr uh, na sie mwet el ac etu fuka inkanek lun moul lal sifacna?
Man's goings [are] of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
25 Nunkala akwoya meet liki kom wulela in oru sie mwe kisa nu sin God. Sahp kom ac auli kac tok.
[It is] a snare to the man [who] devoureth [that which is] holy, and after vows to make inquiry.
26 Sie tokosra lalmwetmet el ac konauk lah su orala ma koluk uh, na el fah sang kai nu sel ke wangin pakomuta.
A wise king scatterreth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.
27 LEUM GOD El ase ngunasr, su oana sie kalem saromrom ma tolak nunak lukma nukewa lasr.
The spirit of man [is] the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
28 Sie tokosra fah mutana in wal lal ke lusenna pacl el oru ma pwaye, suwohs, ac fal.
Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upheld by mercy.
29 Wolana lun mwet fusr pa ku in mano lalos, ac oasku lun mwet matu pa aunsuf fiaya lalos.
The glory of young men [is] their strength: and the beauty of old men [is] the gray head.
30 Kutu pacl uh kaiyuk upa ku in ekulla ouiyen moul koluk lasr uh.
The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so [do] stripes the inward parts of the belly.
