1 LEUM GOD El srunga mwe paun kikiap. Mwe paun suwohs uh mwe insewowo nu sel.
A false balance [is] abomination to the LORD: but a just weight [is] his delight.
2 Mwet filang ac sa na in sifacna mwekinla. Mwet moul efal pa lalmwetmet.
[When] pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly [is] wisdom.
3 Inse pwaye lun mwet wo uh pa kololos. Kutasrik lun mwet sulallal pa kunauselosla.
The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
4 Ac fah wangin sripen mwe kasrup ke len in misa lom, a moul suwohs ac pwaye ac ku in molela moul lom.
Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.
5 Moul suwohs lun sie mwet ac akfisrasrye inkanek lal, a sie mwet koluk fah ikori ke koluk lal sifacna.
The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6 Moul suwohs uh molela mwet suwohs liki ongoiya, a mwet se su tia ku in lulalfongiyuk el sremla ke oasroasr lal sifacna.
The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in [their own] naughtiness.
7 Ke pacl sie mwet koluk el misa, finsrak lal welul na wanginla. Lulalfongi lal ke mwe kasrup uh ac wanginla sripa.
When a wicked man dieth, [his] expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust [men] perisheth.
8 Mwet suwoswos elos karinginyuk liki mwe lokoalok. Mwe lokoalok inge ac tuku nu sin mwet koluk.
The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.
9 Kas lun sie mwet nikin God ku in kunauskomla, a lalmwetmet lun mwet suwoswos ku in molikomla.
An hypocrite with [his] mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
10 Siti nufon se enganak ke mwet suwoswos elos sun mwe insewowo nu selos, oayapa ac fah oasr sasa ke pacl mwet koluk elos misa.
When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, [there is] shouting.
11 Mwet suwoswos fin akinsewowoye sie siti na ac akfulatyeyuk, a kas lun mwet koluk uh kunauselik siti sac.
By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
12 Ma lalfon se in sufan sie sin sie. Mwet etu uh elos mislana.
He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.
13 Sie mwet lesrik tia ku in lulalfongiyuk, tuh kom ku in lulalfongi sie mwet oaru, in tia fahkelik ma lukma.
A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
14 Sie mutunfacl ac ikori fin wangin mwet in kol we. Mwet pwapa lalmwetmet pus ac oru in oasr misla.
Where no counsel [is], the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors [there is] safety.
15 Kom fin wulela in akfalye soemoul lun sie mwetsac, kom ac auli tok. Ac wo nu sum kom fin tia kapsre kom nu kac.
He that is surety for a stranger shall smart [for it: ] and he that hateth suretiship is sure.
16 Sie mutan oawe ac fah akfulatyeyuk, a mukul sulallal uh eis na mwe kasrup.
A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong [men] retain riches.
17 Oasr ma lacne nu sum sifacna ke pacl kom orek kulang. Kom fin sulallal, kom akkolukye kom sifacna.
The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but [he that is] cruel troubleth his own flesh.
18 Ac wangin kapak pwaye lun mwet orekma koluk, tuh kom fin oru ma suwohs, kom ac fah eis mwe moul pwaye.
The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness [shall be] a sure reward.
19 Sie mwet su insianaung in oru ma suwohs fah moul, a mwet se su sulela na ku sel in oru koluk fah misa.
As righteousness [tendeth] to life: so he that pursueth evil [pursueth it] to his own death.
20 LEUM GOD El srunga mwet koluk nunak la, a El lungse elos su oru ma suwohs.
They that are of a froward heart [are] abomination to the LORD: but [such as are] upright in [their] way [are] his delight.
21 Kom in etu na pwaye lah mwet koluk ac fah kalyeiyuk, a mwet suwoswos ac fah moliyukla.
[Though] hand [join] in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
22 Sie mutan oasku su wangin etaten yoro, ac oana sie ring gold infwen soko pig.
[As] a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, [so is] a fair woman which is without discretion.
23 Ma mwet wo uh kena nu kac, pacl nukewa saflaiya uh ac wo. Pacl mwet koluk uh eis ma elos lungse, saflaiya uh kasrkusrak.
The desire of the righteous [is] only good: [but] the expectation of the wicked [is] wrath.
24 Kutu mwet engan in sang ma lalos, a yokelikna kasrpalos. A kutu mwet uh arulana tawi ma lalos, a sukasrup lalos yokelikna.
There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and [there is] that withholdeth more than is meet, but [it tendeth] to poverty.
25 Kom in sang in yohk, na ac fah oasr kapkapak lom. Oru kasru lom nu sin mwet, na ac fah kasreyuk kom.
The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
26 Mwet uh selngawi mwet se su sruokya wheat lal in tupan nu ke pacl yokelik molo, a elos kaksakin mwet se su kukakunla ke sie moul fisrasr.
He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing [shall be] upon the head of him that selleth [it].
27 Mwe finsrak lom fin wo, kom ac akfulatyeyuk, tuh kom fin suk lokoalok, na lokoalok uh ac fah sun kom.
He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.
28 Mwet su lulalfongi mwe kasrup uh ac ikori, a mwet suwoswos ac fah kapak oana sra folfol finsroa.
He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
29 Kutena mwet su use mwe lokoalok nu fin sou lal, ac wangin ma yorol ke saflaiya. Mwet lalfon uh ac fah mwet orekma lun mwet lalmwetmet.
He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool [shall be] servant to the wise of heart.
30 Suwoswos ac fah ase moul, a sulallal ac fah eisla moul.
The fruit of the righteous [is] a tree of life; and he that winneth souls [is] wise.
31 Mwet suwohs elos eis mwe moul lalos fin faclu. Ouinge kom in etu lah mwet koluk nukewa ac fah kalyeiyuk.
Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
