< Nehemiah 6 >
1 Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem, ac mwet lokoalok lasr saya elos lohngak lah kut aksafyela tari pot uh, ac wangin acn lula ma soenna fonfon uh, tusruktu soenna tulokyak srungul nu ke mutunpot uh.
Now it came to pass, when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had built the wall, and [that] there was no breach left in it, (though at that time I had not set up the doors upon the gates; )
2 Ouinge Sanballat ac Geshem sapma nu sik tuh nga in osun yoroltal in sie siti ke acn tupasrpasr in acn Ono. Kutasrik se laltal pa inge, tuh eltal in orek lokoalok nu sik.
That Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, Come, let us meet together in [some one of] the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief.
3 Nga supwala mwet utuk kas in fahk nu seltal, “Nga kafofo ke sie orekma na yohk sripa, ac nga tia ku in fahsrot. Nga ac tia tulokinya orekma uh tuh nga in tufoki nu yurumtal.”
And I sent messengers to them, saying, I [am] doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?
4 Pacl akosr eltal supu kas sacna, ac ke kais sie pacl nga topkolos ke top sacna.
Yet they sent to me four times after this sort; and I answered them after the same manner.
5 Na Sanballat el supwama sie sin mwet kulansap lal nu yuruk ke sap soko aklimekosr, ac ma se inge tuku ke sie leta ma tia kauli.
Then Sanballat sent his servant to me in like manner the fifth time with an open letter in his hand;
6 Pa inge kas kac uh: “Geshem el fahk nu sik mu oasr kas se srumunyuk inmasrlon mutanfahl raunikutla inge lah kom ac mwet Jew akola in tuyak lain kut, pa pwanang kowos sifil musai pot an. El fahk pac mu kom sifacna nunku in oru tuh kom in tokosra faclos,
In which [was] written, It is reported among the heathen, and Gashmu saith [it], [that] thou and the Jews think to rebel: for which cause thou buildest the wall that thou mayest be their king, according to these words.
7 ac kom sapkin nu sin kutu mwet palu tuh elos in sulkakin in acn Jerusalem lah kom pa tokosra lun Judah. Kalem lah Tokosra Fulat Artaxerxes el ac lohng ke ma inge, na pa nga ngisre tuh nga kom in osun ac aetuila ke ma inge nukewa.”
And thou hast also appointed prophets to preach of thee at Jerusalem, saying, [There is] a king in Judah: and now shall it be reported to the king according to these words. Come now therefore, and let us take counsel together.
8 Nga supwala top se inge nu sel: “Wangin kas pwaye ke ma kom fahk an. Ma na kom sifacna kinauk.”
Then I sent to him, saying, There are no such things done as thou sayest, but thou feignest them out of thy own heart.
9 Elos srike na in aksangengye kut in tulokinya orekma uh. Na nga pre ac fahk, “Inge, O God, oru tuh nga in ku!”
For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it may not be done. Now therefore, [O God], strengthen my hands.
10 Ke pacl se inge, nga tuh tufokla in mutwata yorol Shemaiah su tia ku in illa liki lohm sel — el wen natul Delaiah, wen natul Mehetabel. El fahk nu sik, “Nga kom enenu in som ac tukeni wikla in Acn Mutal ke Tempul, ac lakiya srungul uh, mweyen elos ac tuku in unikomi. Siena sin fong inge elos ac tuku unikomi.”
Afterward I came to the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah the son of Mehetabeel, who [was] shut up; and he said, Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us shut the doors of the temple: for they will come to slay thee; yea, in the night will they come to slay thee.
11 Na nga topuk ac fahk, “Nga tia kain mwet se ma kaing ac wikwik. Ya kom nunku mu nga ac som wikla in Tempul in molela moul luk? Nga fah tiana.”
And I said, Should such a man as I flee? and who [is there], that, [being] as I [am], would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.
12 Ke nga nunku kac, nga akilen tuh God El tiana kaskas nu sel Shemaiah, a Tobiah ac Sanballat tuh moli nu sel elan fahk nu sik kas in sensenkakin inge.
And lo, I perceived that God had not sent him; but that he pronounced this prophecy against me: for Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
13 Eltal moleang nu sel elan aksangengyeyu nga in oru ma koluk, eltal in mau akkolukyela inek, ac aklusrongtenyeyu.
Therefore [was] he hired, that I should be afraid, and do so, and sin, and [that] they might have [matter] for an evil report, that they might reproach me.
14 Nga pre, “O God, esamya ma Tobiah ac Sanballat eltal orala, ac sang kaiyuk nu seltal. Esam pac mutan sac Noadiah ac mwet palu saya nukewa su tuh srike in aksangengyeyu.”
My God, think thou upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear.
15 Ke len aklongoul limekosr ke malem Elul, tukun len in orekma lumngaul luo, nufonna pot sac aksafyeyukla.
So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth [day] of [the month] Elul, in fifty and two days.
16 Ke mwet lokoalok lasr in mutunfacl ma apinkutla lohng kac, elos pulakunak lah elos mwekinla, mweyen mwet nukewa etu na lah orekma sac orekla ke kasreyuk lun God.
And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard [of it], and all the heathen that [were] about us saw [these things], they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought by our God.
17 In pulan pacl sac nufon, leta puspis supweyuk inmasrlon mwet kol lun mwet Jew ac Tobiah.
Moreover, in those days the nobles of Judah sent many letters to Tobiah, and [the letters] of Tobiah came to them.
18 Mwet puspis in Judah tuh welul lac, mweyen papa talupal Tobiah pa Shecaniah, sie mwet Jew, wen natul Arah. Wikin pac lah Jehohanan, wen natul Tobiah, el payuk sin acn se natul Meshullam, wen natul Berechiah.
For [there were] many in Judah sworn to him, because he [was] the son-in-law of Shechaniah the son of Arah; and his son Johanan had taken the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berechiah.
19 Mwet uh kaskas na ye mutuk in srumun orekma wo nukewa Tobiah el orala, ac elos fahk pac nu sel ma nukewa ma nga fahk. A el nuna supweyuk leta nu sik in srike in aksangengyeyu.
Also they reported his good deeds before me, and uttered my words to him. [And] Tobiah sent letters to put me in fear.
