Matthew 3

In those days comes John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea,

saying, Repent ye, for the kingdom of the heavens is at hand.
3 John pa mwet se mwet palu Isaiah el tuh kaskaskin ac fahk, “Oasr sie pusra su wowoyak yen mwesis ac fahk, ‘Akoela soko inkanek nu sin Leum; Aksuwosyela elan fahsr kac!’”
This is the one, who is spoken of by Isaiah the prophet saying, The voice of one roaring in the wilderness; Prepare ye the way of the Lord; make straight His paths.
4 Nuknuk lal John uh orekla ke unen camel, ac infulwal losyuki ke mwe lohl orek ke kulun kosro, ac mwe mongo nal pa locust ac honey inima.
And the same John had his raiment from camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his food was locusts and wild honey.
5 Mwet uh tuku nu yorol liki acn Jerusalem, liki acn Judea nufon, ac liki acn nukewa ma apkuran nu Infacl Jordan.
Then Jerusalem and all Judea, and all the region about the Jordan, were coming out to him,

and were being baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.

And seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said unto them; O generations of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
8 Kowos in oru ma ac ku in akkalemye lah pwaye kowos forla liki ma koluk lowos an.
Therefore bring forth fruit worthy of repentance;
9 Ac nimet nunku mu kowos ac ku in kaingkunla mwe keok ke kowos fahk mu Abraham pa papa matu tumowos uh. Nga fahk nu suwos lah God El ku na in eis eot inge ac ekulla nu ke tulik natul Abraham!
and think not to say among yourselves; We have Abraham, our father; for I say unto you that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
10 Tuhla uh akola tari in pakiya sak uh nwe ke oka uh. Sak nukewa ma tia oswe fahko wo, ac fah pakpuki ac sisila nu in e uh.
But already the ax is laid to the root of the trees; therefore every tree not producing good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire.
11 Nga baptaisi kowos ke kof, in akkalemye lah kowos auliyak, tusruktu el su ac tuku tukuk el ac fah baptaisi kowos ke Ngun Mutal ac ke e. Arulana yohk sripal likiyu; finne faluk lal uh nga kupansuwol in us.
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but there is One coming after me more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry; He will baptize you with the Holy Ghost and fire.
12 Fork in sraclik lal oasr inpaol, ac el akola in sraclik fiten wheat liki kulun wheat. El ac fah orani wheat lal nu in nien filma lal, tusruk kulun wheat uh ac fah isisyak in sie e su ac fah tiana kunla.”
Whose fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purify His threshing-floor, and gather His wheat into the garner, and will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
13 In pacl sac Jesus el tuku Galilee me nu yorol John ke Infacl Jordan tuh John elan baptaisella.
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, in order to be baptized by him.
14 Tusruktu John el srike in oru Jesus elan ekulla nunkal. John el fahk, “Fal in nga pa baptaisla sum uh, a kom tuku nu yuruk!”
And John continued to forbid Him saying, I have need to be baptized by thee, and comest thou unto me?
15 Tuh Jesus El fahk, “Pwaye, tuh ke pacl se inge oru oana nga fahk. Ke lumah se inge kut ac akfalye ma nukewa ma God El enenu in orekla uh.” Ouinge John el insese nu kac.
And Jesus responding said to him; Suffer it now; for thus it is becoming us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffers Him.

And Jesus having been baptized, came up straightway from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened and He saw the Spirit of God, descending like a dove, coming on Him.
17 Na sie pusra inkusrao me fahk, “El inge Wen kulo nutik, su nga insewowo kacl.”
And behold, a voice from the heavens, saying; This is my beloved Son in whom I delight.
