< Matthew 22 >

And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
3 El supwalik mwet kulansap lal in som solama mwet ma solsol tari nu ke kufwen marut uh elos in tuku, tuh elos tia lungse tuku.
And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
4 Na el sifilpa supwala kutu pac mwet kulansap in fahk nu selos su solsol: ‘Kufwa luk uh akola tari, cow mukul wowo nutik ac cow fusr ma akfatyeyuk anwuki tari, ac ma nukewa akola. Fahsru nu ke kufwen marut uh!’
Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and [my] fatlings [are] killed, and all things [are] ready: come unto the marriage.
But they made light of [it], and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
6 ac kutu elos sruokya mwet kulansap inge, srunglulos ac onelosi.
And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew [them].
7 Tokosra sac arulana kasrkusrakak, ac supwala mwet mweun lal ac uniya mwet akmas ingo ac esukak siti selos uh.
But when the king heard [thereof], he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
8 Na el pangonma mwet kulansap lal ac fahk nu selos, ‘Kufwen marut luk akola, tusruk mwet ma nga tuh suli ah elos tia fal in wi.
Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
10 Ouinge mwet kulansap elos som nu inkanek uh ac eisani nufon mwet elos liyauk we, mwet wo ac mwet koluk oana sie; ac iwen marut uh arulana tingtingi ke mwet.
So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
11 “Na tokosra sac el som in liye mwet su tuku, ac konauk lah sie mwet uh tia nukum nuknuk fal nu ke marut.
And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
12 Ac tokosra sac fahk nu sel, ‘Mwet kawuk, kom utyak fuka nu in acn se inge ke kom tia nukum nuknuk fal nu ke marut?’ Tuh wanginna ma mwet sac fahk.
And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
13 Na tokosra sac fahk nu sin mwet kulansap uh, ‘Kapriya nial ac paol, ac sisella nu in acn lohsr likinum uh. El ac fah tung ac ngalis inwihsel we.’”
Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast [him] into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
For many are called, but few [are] chosen.
15 Mwet Pharisee elos som ac tukeni pwapa in sruokilya Jesus ke kutu mwe siyuk kutasrik.
Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in [his] talk.
Kom luti kas pwaye ke ma lungse lun God, ac tia suk lah acnu fuka nunak lun mwet uh kac, mweyen kom tia wiwimwet.
And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any [man]: for thou regardest not the person of men.
17 Fahk nu sesr lah mea nunak lom? Ya ac lain Ma Sap lasr uh mwet uh in moli tax nu sin Caesar, tokosra in acn Rome, ku tia?”
Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
18 Tusruktu Jesus el akilen pwapa koluk lalos, ac el fahk nu selos, “Kowos mwet wosounkas! Efu kowos ku srike in srifeyu?
But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, [ye] hypocrites?
19 Ase nu sik sie ipin mani ma sang akfalye tax an!” Na elos use sie ac sang nu sel,
Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
And he saith unto them, Whose [is] this image and superscription?
They say unto him, Cæsar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things which are Cæsar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.
22 Ke elos lohng ma inge, elos fwefela kac, ac som lukel.
When they had heard [these words], they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.
23 In len sacna kutu mwet Sadducee tuku nu yurin Jesus. (U se inge lulalfongi mu wangin sifil moulyak tokin misa.)
The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
24 Elos fahk, “Mwet Luti, Moses el tuh fahk mu mwet se fin misa ac wangin tulik natul, mukul se wien mas sac uh enenu in payukyak sin katinmas sac, in mau oasr tulik natultal su ac fah pangpang ma nutin mas sac uh.
Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
26 Ouiya se inge sikyak pac nu sin mukul se akluo, ac mukul se aktolu, nwe sun pac wen se akitkosr.
Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
27 Na tok katinmas sac misa.
And last of all the woman died also.
28 Fin sun len in moulyak lun mwet misa uh, ac mau kien su katinmas sac, mweyen eltal nufon tuh payuk nu sel?”
Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
29 Na Jesus el topuk ac fahk nu selos, “Kowos arulana tafongla! Mweyen kowos tia etu ke Ma Simusla, ku ke ku lun God.
Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 Tuh ke mwet misa elos ac moulyak, elos ac mau oana lipufan inkusrao, ac elos ac tia payuk.
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
31 Ac funu ke moulyak lun mwet misa uh, ya kowos soenna rit ke ma God El fahk nu suwos uh? El fahk mu,
But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
32 ‘Nga God lal Abraham, God lal Isaac, ac God lal Jacob.’ El God lun mwet moul, ac tia lun mwet misa.”
I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
33 Ke u lulap sac lohng ma inge, elos arulana fwefela ke luti lal.
And when the multitude heard [this], they were astonished at his doctrine.
34 Ke mwet Pharisee elos lohng lah Jesus el kaliya oalin mwet Sadducee, elos fahsreni ac tukeni som nu yurin Jesus.
But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
35 Ac sie selos, su pisrla ke Ma Sap, el srike in srife Jesus ke sie mwe siyuk.
Then one of them, [which was] a lawyer, asked [him a question], tempting him, and saying,
Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?
37 Ac Jesus el fahk nu sel, “‘Kom fah lungse Leum God lom ke insiom kewa, ke ngunum kewa, ac ke nunkom kewa.’
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 Ma sap nukewa lal Moses ac mwe luti nukewa lun mwet palu oan ye ma sap luo inge.”
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
41 Ke mwet Pharisee elos srakna tukeni muta, Jesus el siyuk selos,
While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
42 “Mea kowos nunku ke Christ? Kowos nunku mu el wen nutin su?” Ac elos fahk, “El wen natul David.”
Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, [The Son] of David.
43 Na Jesus el siyuk selos, “Fin ouingan, efu ku Ngun tuh oru David elan pangnol, ‘Leum’? Oana ke David el tuh fahk,
He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44 ‘Leum God El tuh fahk nu sin Leum luk: Muta siskuk layot, Nwe ke nga filiya mwet lokoalok lom ye niom.’
The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
45 Na David el fin pangnol ‘Leum,’ ac fuka tuh Christ elan wen natul David?”
If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
46 Wangin sie selos ku in topuk Jesus, ac tukun len sac wangin sie mwet pulaik in sifil siyuk kutena mwe siyuk sel.
And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any [man] from that day forth ask him any more [questions.]
