< Matthew 14 >

1 In pacl sac Herod, leum lun acn Galilee, el lohng pweng kacl Jesus.
At that time, Herod the tetrarch heard the report concerning Yeshua,
2 El fahk nu sin mwet pwapa lal, “El inge pa John Baptais a sifil akmoulyeyukyak el, pa oru oasr ku lal in oru mwenmen inge uh.”
and said to his servants, "This is Yukhanan the Baptist. He is risen from the dead. That is why these powers work in him."
3 Herod pa tuh sap in sruhu John, ac in kapiri el ac itukyang nu in presin. El oru ouinge ke sripacl Herodias, su tuh payuk meet sel Phillip, tamulel lal.
For Herod had arrested Yukhanan, and bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodia, his brother Philipus's wife.
4 In kutu pacl meet, John Baptais el tuh fahk nu sel Herod, “Tia fal kom in payuk sel Herodias!”
For Yukhanan said to him, "It is not lawful for you to have her."
And though he wanted to kill him, he feared the crowd because they regarded him as a prophet.
6 Ke sun len lal Herod, acn natul Herodias el tuh tacn ye mutun walil sac. Ac ke sripen yohk engan lal Herod,
But when Herod's birthday came, the daughter of Herodia danced among them and pleased Herod.

Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatever she should ask.
8 Na mutan sac fahk oana ke nina kial ah tuh fahk nu sel, “Ase nu sik ingena insifal John Baptais in sie ahlu!”
And she, being prompted by her mother, said, "Give me here on a platter the head of Yukhanan the Baptist."

And the king was grieved, but for the sake of his oaths, and of those who sat at the table with him, he commanded it to be given,
10 Ke ma inge el sap in pakpukla sifal John in presin.
and he sent and beheaded Yukhanan in the prison.
And his head was brought on a platter, and given to the young woman: and she brought it to her mother.
Then his disciples came, and took the dead body, and buried him; and they went and told Yeshua.
13 Ke Jesus el lohng pweng kacl John, el oayak ac som nu ke sie acn ma wangin mwet muta we. Mwet uh lohngak, na elos som tokol, ut na finmes uh.
Now when Yeshua heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat, to a secluded place to be alone. When the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the cities.
And he went out, and he saw a large crowd, and he had compassion on them, and healed their sick.

Now when evening had come, the disciples came to him, saying, "This place is desolate, and the hour is already late. Send the crowds away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food."
16 Na Jesus el fahk, “Elos tia enenu in som. Komtal sang kutu mongo an elos in kang!”
But Yeshua said to them, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat."
17 Na elos fahk, “Pwayena ma oasr yorosr pa lof in bread limekosr ac ik lukwa.”
And they told him, "We only have here five loaves and two fish."
18 Na el fahk, “Use nu sik.”
So he said, "Bring them here to me."
19 El sap mwet uh in muta fin mah uh.
Then he commanded the crowds to sit down on the grass; and he took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, broke and gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples gave to the crowds.
20 Mwet nukewa mongo ac kihpi. Na mwet tumal lutlut elos orani fotoh singoul luo ke luwen mongo uh.
And they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of that which remained left over from the broken pieces.

Now those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
22 Na Jesus el sap mwet tumal lutlut in sroang nu fin oak uh ac kalot meet nu lefahlo ke el supwalik mwet uh.
And immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and to go ahead of him to the other side, while he sent the crowds away.
23 Tukun el supwalik mwet uh, el utyak nu fineol uh in pre we. Ke ekela, Jesus el mukena muta in acn sac,
And after he had sent the crowds away, he went up into the mountain by himself to pray. When evening had come, he was there alone.

But the boat was now in the middle of the lake, battered by the waves, for the wind was against it.

And in the watch between three and six in the morning, he came to them, walking on the lake.

And when the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were troubled, saying, "It's a ghost." and they screamed with fear.
Nimet sangeng!”
But immediately Yeshua spoke to them, saying "Cheer up. It is I. Do not be afraid."
28 Na Peter el kasla ac fahk, “Leum, fin kom pa ingan, sap nga in fahsrot fin kof uh nu yurum.”
Kipha answered him and said, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters."
29 Na Jesus el fahk, “Fahsru!” Na Peter el srola liki oak uh ac mutawauk in fahsr fin kof uh nu yurin Jesus.
He said, "Come." Kipha stepped down from the boat, and walked on the water and went toward Yeshua.
30 Tusruktu ke el liye upa lun eng uh, el sangeng ac mutawauk in tili nu inkof uh. Na el wowoyak ac fahk, “O Leum, moliyula!”
But when he saw the strong wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he yelled, saying, "Lord, save me."
Efu kom ku alolo?”
Immediately Yeshua stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?"
32 Eltal kewa sroang nu fin oak uh, na eng uh mihsla.
When they got up into the boat, the wind ceased.
33 Mwet tumal lutlut su muta in oak uh elos epasr ac alu nu sin Jesus. Elos fahk, “Pwayena kom Wen nutin God!”
Those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "You are truly the Son of God."
34 Elos tupalma in lulu sac ac oai in acn Gennesaret,
When they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret.

When the people of that place recognized him, they sent into all that surrounding region, and brought to him all who were sick,

and they begged him that they might just touch the fringe of his garment. And all who touched it were healed.
