< Malachi 1 >

1 Pa inge kas su LEUM GOD El sang nu sel Malachi in fahkak nu sin mwet Israel.
The prophecy of the word of the Lord to Israel by means of Malachi.
2 LEUM GOD El fahk nu sin mwet lal, “Nga nuna lungse kowos pacl nukewa.” Tusruktu elos topuk fahk, “Kom akkalemye lungse lom nu sesr fuka?” LEUM GOD El topuk, “Esau ac Jacob eltal tamulel, tuh nga lungse Jacob ac fwil natul,
I have loved you, so hath said the Lord: yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Is not Esau brother to Jacob? saith the Lord: yet I loved Jacob;
3 ac nga srungal Esau ac fwil natul. Nga sukela acn sel Esau ac sang fulan eol we tuh in nien muta lun kosro lemnak.”
And Esau I hated; and I rendered his mountains a desert, and his heritage a dwelling for the monsters of the wilderness.
4 Mwet Edom, su fwil natul Esau, fin fahk, “Siti sesr kunausyukla, tusruktu kut ac fah sifilpa musaeak,” na LEUM GOD El fah topuk, “Lela elos in sifil musai — nga fah sifil kunausla. Ac fah pangpang elos, ‘Sie facl koluk,’ ac ‘Mutunfacl se su LEUM GOD El kasrkusrak se nwe tok!’”
Should Edom even say, We are impoverished; but we will return and build the ruined places: thus hath said the Lord of hosts, They may indeed build, but I will surely throw down; and men shall call them, The territory of wickedness, and, The people against whom the Lord hath indignation to eternity.
5 Mwet Israel elos fah sifacna liye ma inge ke mutalos, ac elos ac fahk, “LEUM GOD El arulana ku, ac ku lal liyeyuk sayen facl Israel pac!”
And your eyes shall see it; and ye shall then say, The Lord will be magnified beyond the territory of Israel.
6 LEUM GOD Kulana El fahk nu sin mwet tol uh, “Sie wen el sunakin papa tumal, ac sie mwet kulansap el sunakin mwet kacto lal. Nga papa tomowos — efu kowos ku tia sunakinyu? Nga Mwet Kacto lowos — efu kowos ku tia akfulatyeyu? Kowos aksruksrukeyu, a kowos siyuk, ‘Kut aksruksruke kom fuka?’
A son honoreth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is my honor? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the Lord of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name; and ye say, wherein have we despised thy name?
7 Ke kowos kisakin mwe mongo kolukla fin loang luk uh. Na kowos sifil siyuk, ‘Kut tia akfulatye kom fuka?’ Nga ac fahk nu suwos: ke kowos aklusrongtenye loang luk.
Ye offer upon my altar polluted bread; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the Lord is contemptible.
8 Ke kowos use soko kosro kun ku mas ku osaksak in kisakin nu sik, ya kowos nunku mu wangin ma koluk kac? Srike sangwin soko kain kosro se ingan nu sel governor — ya el ac insewowo suwos, ku oru kutena ma in kasrekowos?”
And if ye bring near the blind to sacrifice it, is this not evil? and if ye bring near the lame and the sick, is this not evil? do but present it unto thy governor, will he be pleased with thee, or receive thee with favor? saith the Lord of hosts.
9 Inge, kowos mwet tol, srike siyuk sin God Elan oru wo nu sesr. El ac tia topuk pre lowos uh, na ac fah ma lowos pa koluk uh.
And now, I pray you, beseech the presence of God that he may be gracious unto us; from your hand hath this thing come: will he receive one of you with favor? saith the Lord of hosts.
10 LEUM GOD Kulana El fahk, “Nga ke sie suwos in kaliya srungul ke Tempul, in kosrala kowos in tia akosak e fin loang luk uh ke wangin sripa. Nga tiana insewowo suwos. Nga fah tia eis mwe sang ma kowos us nu yuruk.
Oh that there were some one among you that would lock up the doors [of the sanctuary], that ye might not light up my altar for nought: I have no pleasure in you, saith the Lord of hosts, neither will I accept in favor an offering from your hand.
11 Ke pacl faht uh takak nwe ke pacl faht uh tili, mwet in mutunfacl nukema faclu elos sunakinyu. Yen nukewa elos esukak mwe keng ac ase mwe kisa wowo nu sik. Elos nukewa akfulatyeyu!
For from the rising of the sun even unto his going down my name is great among the nations; and in every place incense is burnt and there is offered unto my name, even a pure offering; for great is my name among the nations, saith the Lord of hosts.
12 Tusruktu kowos akkolukye loang luk ke kowos fahk mu wangin sripa, ac ke kowos kisakin mwe mongo koluk fac.
But ye profane it, in that ye say, The table of the Lord is polluted, and by the assertion, Its food is contemptible.
13 Kowos fahk mu, ‘Kut totola ke oreyen ma inge uh!’ ac sungalik infwewos nu sik. Kowos use kosro pusrla, ku ma osaksak, ku mas, in kisakin nu sik. Ya kowos nunku mu nga ac eis ma ingan suwos?
And ye have said, Behold, what a wearisome task is it! and ye have left it to famish, saith the Lord of hosts; and ye have brought what was robbed, and the lame, and the sick, and thus ye have brought an offering: should I accept this in favor from your hand? saith the Lord.
14 In selngawiyuk mwet kutasrik se su kisakin soko kosro koluk lumah nu sik, ke oasr ma na wo ac fas soko inmasrlon un kosro natul, su el tuh wulema in kisakin nu sik! Tuh nga sie tokosra fulat, ac mwet in mutunfacl nukewa sangeng sik.”
But cursed be the deceiver, who hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth a corrupt thing unto the Lord; for I am a great king, saith the Lord of hosts, and my name is feared among the nations.
