< Luke 20 >

1 Sie len ke Jesus el muta in Tempul in luti mwet uh ac fahkak ke Pweng Wo, mwet tol fulat ac mwet luti Ma Sap, wi pac un mwet matu elos tuku
And it came to pass, on one of those days, as He is teaching the people in the temple, and proclaiming good news, the chief priests and the scribes, with the elders, came on [Him],
2 ac fahk nu sel, “Fahkma nu sesr, ma ya ku lom in oru ma inge? Su sot ku ingan nu sum uh?”
and spoke to Him, saying, “Tell us by what authority You do these things? Or who is he that gave to You this authority?”
3 Jesus el topuk ac fahk nu selos, “Inge nga ac siyuk suwos sie mwe siyuk. Fahkma nu sik,
And He answering said to them, “I will question you—I also—one thing, and tell Me:
4 ku lal John in baptaisi mwet tuku ya me? Ya ma sin God me, ku ma sin mwet uh?”
the immersion of John, was it from Heaven, or from men?”
5 Elos mutawauk in asiyuki inmasrlolos, “Mea kut ac fahk? Kut fin fahk mu, ‘Ma sin God,’ el ac mu, ‘Fin ouingan, efu kowos ku tia lulalfongel John?’
And they reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we may say, From Heaven, He will say, Why, then, did you not believe him?
6 A kut fin fahk mu, ‘Ma sin mwet uh,’ un mwet na lulap se inge ac tungal kut nwe ke kut misa, mweyen elos lulalfongi mu mwet palu se pa John.”
And if we may say, From men, all the people will stone us, for they are having been persuaded John to be a prophet.”
7 Ouinge elos fahk, “Kut tia etu lah tuku ya me.”
And they answered that they did not know from where [it was],
8 Ac Jesus el fahk nu selos, “Fin ouingan, nga ac tia pac fahk nu suwos lah ma ya ku luk in oru ma inge.”
and Jesus said to them, “Neither do I say to you by what authority I do these things.”
9 Na Jesus el fahk pupulyuk se inge nu sin mwet uh: “Oasr sie mwet ma yukwiya ima in grape se, ac sang nu sin kutu mwet in karingin, na el som liki facl sel ke pacl na loeloes.
And He began to speak to the people this allegory: “A certain man planted a vineyard, and gave it out to farmers, and went abroad for a long time,
10 Ke sun pacl in telani grape in ima uh, el supwala mwet kulansap se nu yurin mwet karingin ima uh in tuh use ip lal ke ma elos kosrani uh. Tusruktu mwet liyaung ima uh uni mwet kulansap sac nwe folokunulla pisinpo.
and at the season he sent a servant to the farmers, that they may give to him from the fruit of the vineyard, but the farmers having beat him, sent [him] away empty.
11 Na el sifilpa supwala sie pac mwet kulansap; ac mwet liyaung ima elos sifilpa onel, oral arulana koluk, ac folokunulla pisinpo pac.
And he added to send another servant, and they also having beaten and dishonored that one, sent [him] away empty;
12 Na el sifilpa supwala mwet kulansap se aktolu. Mwet karingin ima elos kanteya pac ac sisella.
and he added to send a third, and this one also, having wounded, they cast out.
13 Na mwet se ma la ima uh fahk, ‘Mea nga ac oru uh? Nga ac supwala wen kulo se nutik inge. Pwayena lah elos ac akfulatyal!’
And the owner of the vineyard said, What will I do? I will send my son, the beloved, perhaps having seen this one, they will respect [him];
14 Tusruktu, ke mwet liyaung ima uh liyalak elos fahk nu sin sie sin sie, ‘Wen se nutin mwet se la ima uh pa inge. Kut unilya, na ma lal inge ac fah lasr lac!’
and having seen him, the farmers reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir; come, we may kill him, that the inheritance may become ours;
15 Ouinge elos sisella liki ima uh ac unilya. Na Jesus el siyuk, “Mea mwet se la ima uh ac oru nu sin mwet ma karingin ima uh?
and having cast him outside of the vineyard, they killed [him]; what, then, will the owner of the vineyard do to them?
16 El ac tuku ac uniya mwet inge, ac sang ima uh nu sin kutu pacna mwet.” Ke mwet uh lohng ma inge elos fahk, “Tia ku in ouinge!”
He will come, and destroy these farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.” And having heard, they said, “Let it not be!”
17 Jesus el ngetang suelosi ac fahk, “Ac pia kalmen Ma Simusla se inge? ‘Eot se ma mwet musa uh nunku mu wangin sripa ac sisla, Pa yohk sripa oemeet uh.’
And He, having looked on them, said, “What, then, is this that has been written: A stone that the builders rejected—this became head of a corner?
18 Kutena mwet su putatyang nu fin eot sacn, ac fah musalsalu mano nu ke ip srisrik. Ac eot sac fin putati nu fin sie mwet, ac fah mokutkuti oana kutkut.”
Everyone who has fallen on that stone will be broken, and on whom it may fall, it will crush him to pieces.”
19 Mwet luti Ma Sap ac mwet tol fulat elos kena kapriya Jesus in pacl sacna, mweyen elos etu lah el fahk pupulyuk sac lainulos; tuh elos sangeng sin mwet uh.
And the chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on Him in that hour, and they feared the people, for they knew that He spoke this allegory against them.
20 Ke ma inge elos suk sie pacl wo lalos. Elos moli nu sin kutu mwet in som ac oru lumahlos in oana elos mwet suwoswos, sruhk elos supwalosla in sruokilya Jesus ke mwe siyuk kutasrik lalos, elos in mau eisalang nu ke ku fulat lun Governor lalos, su siemwet Rome.
And having watched [Him], they sent forth ones lying in wait, feigning themselves to be righteous, that they might take hold of His word, to deliver Him up to the rule and to the authority of the governor,
21 Mwet kutasrik inge fahk nu sin Jesus, “Mwet Luti, kut etu lah kas lom ac ma kom luti inge ma pwaye. Kut etu lah kom tia wiwi mwet, a kom luti ma pwaye ke ma lungse lun God.
and they questioned Him, saying, “Teacher, we have known that You say and teach correctly, and do not receive a person, but in truth teach the way of God.
22 Fahkma nu sesr, ya ac lain Ma Sap lasr uh mwet uh in moli tax nu sin Caesar, Tokosra Fulat lun acn Rome, ku tia?”
Is it lawful to us to give tribute to Caesar or not?”
23 Tuh Jesus el akilen kutasrik lalos, ac el fahk nu selos,
And He, having perceived their craftiness, said to them, “Why do you tempt Me?
24 “Use sie ipin mani silver an nu sik ngan liye. Mutun su ac inen su oan kac inge?” Ac elos fahk, “Ma lun Caesar.”
Show Me a denarius; of whom does it have an image and inscription?” And they answering said, “Of Caesar”:
25 Na Jesus el fahk, “Kwal, sang nu sin Caesar ma lun Caesar, ac sang nu sin God ma lun God.”
and He said to them, “Give back, therefore, the things of Caesar to Caesar, and the things of God to God”;
26 Ouinge elos koflana sruokilya ye mutun mwet uh ke kutena kas lal, na elos misla ac arulana lut ke top lal uh.
and they were not able to take hold on His saying before the people, and having wondered at His answer, they were silent.
27 Na kutu mwet Sadducee, su fahk mu mwet uh ac fah tia sifil moulyak, elos tuku nu yurin Jesus ac fahk,
And certain of the Sadducees, who are denying that there is a resurrection, having come near, questioned Him,
28 “Mwet Luti, Moses el tuh simusla ma sap se inge nu sesr, ‘Mukul se fin misa ac wangin tulik natul, mwet lin mukul sacn enenu in payukyak sin katinmas sacn eltal in mau ku in oswela kutu tulik ma ac pangpang ma nutin mukul se ma misa uh.’
saying, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us if anyone’s brother may die, having a wife, and he may die childless—that his brother may take the wife, and may raise up seed to his brother.
29 Tuh oasr tamulel itkosr — ma se ma matu el payuk nwe misa, a wangin tulik natul.
There were, then, seven brothers, and the first having taken a wife, died childless,
30 Na el su akluo el payukyak sin katinmas sac,
and the second took the wife, and he died childless,
31 na sifilpa ma se aktolu uh. Lumah sacna sikyak nu sin tamulel itkosr ah nufon — elos misa ac wangin tulik natulos.
and the third took her, and in like manner also the seven—they left no children, and they died;
32 Na tok katinmas sac misa.
and last of all the woman also died:
33 Na fuka, ke ac mau sun len in sifil moulyak uh, ac kien su katinmas sac? Nufonna mwet itkosr uh tuh payuk nu sel.”
in the resurrection, then, of which of them does she become wife? For the seven had her as wife.”
34 Jesus el topuk ac fahk nu selos, “Mukul ac mutan in pacl se inge uh elos marut, (aiōn g165)
And Jesus answering said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, (aiōn g165)
35 tusruktu mukul ac mutan ma fal in wi moulyak ke pacl se fahsru, ac fah tia marut. (aiōn g165)
but those accounted worthy to obtain that age, and the resurrection that is out of the dead, neither marry, nor are they given in marriage; (aiōn g165)
36 Elos ac fah oana lipufan, ac tia ku in misa. Elos ma nutin God, mweyen elos moulyak liki misa.
for neither are they able to die anymore—for they are like messengers—and they are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.
37 Moses el arulana akpwayei lah mwet misa elos sifil moulyak. Ke sramsram ke firir se in kupo sac, el kaskas kacl Leum ouinge: ‘El God lal Abraham, God lal Isaac, ac God lal Jacob.’
And that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the Bush, since he calls the LORD the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob;
38 Ke ma inge El God lun mwet moul, tia lun mwet misa, tuh nu sel mwet nukewa moul.”
and He is not a God of dead men, but of living, for all live to Him.”
39 Na kutu sin mwet luti Ma Sap elos fahk nu sel, “Mwet Luti, wona top lom an!”
And certain of the scribes answering said, “Teacher, You said well”;
40 Ac elos koflana sifil siyuk kutena ma sel.
and they no longer dared question Him anything.
41 Jesus el siyuk selos, “Efu ku fwack mu Christ el wen natul David?
And He said to them, “How do they say the Christ is [the] son of David,
42 Ku David el sifacna fahk in book in Psalm mu, ‘Leum God El fahk nu sin Leum luk: Muta siskuk layot
and David himself says in [the] Scroll of Psalms, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit on My right hand,
43 Nwe ke nga oru mwet lokoalok lom oana sie ma loangeyen niom.’
Until I will make Your enemies Your footstool;
44 David el pangnol ‘Leum.’ Fin ouinge, fuka tuh Christ elan wen natul David?”
David, then, calls Him Lord, and how is He his son?”
45 Ke mwet uh nukewa lohng, Jesus el fahk nu sin mwet tumal lutlut,
And all the people hearing, He said to His disciples,
46 “Kowos karinginkowosyang liki mwet luti Ma Sap uh, su lungse forfor nukum nuknuk loeloes lalos, ac oayapa tuh mwet uh in paingulos ac akfulatyalos ke nien kuka uh; ac sulela nien muta fulat in iwen lolngok ac yen ma wo emeet in pacl in kufwa;
“Take heed of the scribes, who are wishing to walk in long robes, and are cherishing salutations in the markets, and first seats in the synagogues, and first couches at the banquets,
47 su lungsena kiapu katinmas ac pisre lohm selos, tari elos filangkin pre loeloes lalos! Kai nu selos uh ac fah arulana upa!”
who devour the houses of the widows, and make long prayers for a pretense, these will receive more abundant judgment.”
