< Mwet Nununku 7 >
1 Sie len ah Gideon ac mwet lal nukewa toang tukakek ac tulokinya lohm nuknuk selos sisken Unon in Kof Harod. Ac mwet Midian elos muta infahlfal uh nu epang in Eol Moreh.
Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.
2 LEUM GOD El fahk nu sel Gideon, “Mwet ma wi kom inge arulana pusla nu ke kutangla se nga ac sang nu selos fin mwet Midian inge. Sahp ac tuh oru elos nunku mu elos sifacna pa oru kutangla se inge, ac elos tiana akilenyu kac.
And the LORD said to Gideon, The people that are with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, My own hand has saved me.
3 Fahk nu sin mwet an, ‘Fin oasr mwet sangeng, in folokla nu yen selos an, ac kut ac mutana in acn se inge ke Fineol Gilead.’” Na tausin longoul luo selos folokla, ac tausin singoul na muta.
Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.
4 Na LEUM GOD El sifil fahk nu sel Gideon, “Srakna pusla mwet an. Pwanulosla nu infacl ah, ac nga ac fah sraclik mwet an we. Nga fin fahk mu mwet se ac fal in wi, na el wi. Ac nga fin mu mwet se tia fal in wi, na el tia wi.”
And the LORD said to Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down to the water, and I will try them for you there: and it shall be, that of whom I say to you, This shall go with you, the same shall go with you; and of whomsoever I say to you, This shall not go with you, the same shall not go.
5 Na Gideon el usya mwet uh nu infacl ah. Ac LEUM GOD El fahk nu sel, “Srela mwet nukewa ma nim kof ke lohulos oana kosro ngalngul uh liki mwet nukewa su sikukmutunte ke elos nim kof an.”
So he brought down the people to the water: and the LORD said to Gideon, Every one that laps of the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, him shall you set by himself; likewise every one that bows down on his knees to drink.
6 Oasr mwet tolfoko na su yucukak kof inpaolos ac nim ke lohulos, a mwet saya nukewa elos sikukmutunte ac nim kof.
And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down on their knees to drink water.
7 Na LEUM GOD El fahk nu sel Gideon, “Nga ac fah molikomla ac sot kutangla nu sum fin mwet Midian inge ke mwet tolfoko na ma nim kof ke lohulos inge. Fahkang mwet nukewa saya an in som nu yen selos an.”
And the LORD said to Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand: and let all the other people go every man to his place.
8 Na Gideon el supwala mwet Israel nukewa nu yen selos an, sayen mwet tolfoko su el sap in orani mwe mongo ac mwe ukuk nukewa ma oasr. Mwet Midian elos muta ke infahlfal se oan ten ah.
So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man to his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.
9 In fong sac LEUM GOD El sapkin nu sel Gideon, “Tuyak ac mweunelos in nien aktuktuk lalos an. Nga sot kutangla nu sum.
And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said to him, Arise, get you down to the host; for I have delivered it into your hand.
10 Tusruk kom fin sangeng in lainulos, kom ac mwet kulansap se lom an Purah tufokla nu nien aktuktuk lalos an.
But if you fear to go down, go you with Phurah your servant down to the host:
11 Kom ac fah lohng ma elos srumun an, ac ke kom ac lohng an kom ac fah kui ac pulaik in lainulos.” Na Gideon ac mwet kulansap se lal inge, Purah, eltal oatula nu sisken nien aktuktuk lun mwet lokoalok lalos.
And you shall hear what they say; and afterward shall your hands be strengthened to go down to the host. Then went he down with Phurah his servant to the outside of the armed men that were in the host.
12 Mwet Midian, mwet Amalek, ac mwet forfor yen mwesis elos oalik infahlfal uh oana pusiyen locust, ac pusiyen camel natulos pus oana puk weacn uh.
And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.
Na lohm sac ikori ac oankiyuki infohk uh.”
And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream to his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, see, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came to a tent, and smote it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along.
14 Na kawuk se lal ah fahk, “Cutlass nutin mwet Israel se pa ingan — Gideon, wen natul Joash! Pa inge kalmen mweme sacn, wangin pac sie kalmac saya! God El sang kutangla nu sel Gideon fin mwet Midian ac mwet mweun wiasr nukewa!”
And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand has God delivered Midian, and all the host.
LEUM GOD El asot kutangla nu suwos fin mwet mweun lun Midian!”
And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, Arise; for the LORD has delivered into your hand the host of Midian.
16 El kitalik mwet tolfoko lal inge nu ke u tolu, ac sang nu sin kais sie mwet sie mwe ukuk ac pisin sufa soko ma fulack firir soko oan loac.
And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet in every man’s hand, with empty pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers.
17 Ac el fahk nu selos, “Ke pacl se nga ac sun sisken nien aktuktuk lalos, kowos liyeyu ac oru oana ke nga ac oru uh.
And he said to them, Look on me, and do likewise: and, behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall you do.
18 Ke pacl se nga ac u luk uh ac ukya mwe ukuk uh, na kowos ukya mwe ukuk an ac raunela nien aktuktuk lalos an, ac sasa ac fahk, ‘Kut oru ma inge ke Inen LEUM GOD ac ke inel Gideon!’”
When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow you the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.
19 Ac Gideon ac mwet siofok lal elos tuku nu nien aktuktuk uh meet kutu liki infulwen fong, tukunna mwet soan we ah ayaol. Na elos ukya mwe ukuk ac fukul pisin sufa elos us uh.
So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came to the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and broke the pitchers that were in their hands.
20 Ac u luo saya ah elos oru oapana. Elos sruok fulack firir lalos uh in lac paolos lasa, ac mwe ukuk uh ke lac po layot, ac sasa. Elos wowoyak fahk, “Cutlass uh ma nu sin LEUM GOD ac nu sel Gideon!”
And the three companies blew the trumpets, and broke the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow with: and they cried, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.
21 Mwet nukewa tu raunela nien aktuktuk lun mwet lokoalok, ac mwet lokoalok elos wowo ac kaing.
And they stood every man in his place round about the camp; and all the host ran, and cried, and fled.
22 Ke mwet lal Gideon inge tuh uk mwe ukuk tolfoko natulos, LEUM GOD El oru tuh mwet lokoalok inge in sifacna forani aacnwuki ke cutlass natulos. Elos kaing ke inkanek nu Zarethan nwe ke elos sun acn Beth Shittah, ke siti lun Abel Meholah su apkuran nu Tabbath.
And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man’s sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, to Tabbath.
23 Na suliyukme mwet in sruf lal Naphtali, ac sruf lal Asher, ac sruf luo lun Manasseh kewa, ac elos ukwe mwet Midian inge.
And the men of Israel gathered themselves together out of Naphtali, and out of Asher, and out of all Manasseh, and pursued after the Midianites.
24 Ac Gideon el supwala mwet utuk kas in som sasla fineol in facl Ephraim ac fahk, “Tufoki ac mweuni mwet Midian. Kowos kosrala acn ke Infacl Jordan nwe sun acn Bethbarah, mwet Midian inge in tia tupalla.” Na mwet Ephraim elos toeni ac kosrala Infacl Jordan nwe sun acn Bethbarah.
And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, come down against the Midianites, and take before them the waters to Bethbarah and Jordan. Then all the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and took the waters to Bethbarah and Jordan.
25 Mwet Israel elos sruokya mwet kol luo lun mwet Midian, Oreb ac Zeeb. Elos unilya Oreb sisken eot lulap pangpang Eot lal Oreb. Ac elos unilya Zeeb ke Nien Fut Wain lal Zeeb. Na elos sifilpa ukwe mwet Midian. Ac elos use sifal Oreb ac sifal Zeeb nu yen Gideon el muta we kutulap in Infacl Jordan, ac sang nu sel.
And they took two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb; and they slew Oreb on the rock Oreb, and Zeeb they slew at the wine press of Zeeb, and pursued Midian, and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon on the other side Jordan.
